A buddy introduced me to this UA-cam channel one late night and I started down the TCGS rabbit hole. Within a month of him telling me about this show, 5:47 happened. I love Chris and the beautiful weird mess he made for us losers, geeks and dorks. TCGS is dead, long live TCGS!
I just found this show and I LOVED IT! Thanks for making a show that feels like you're just hanging at your best friend's room and talking bout interesting and stupid stuff... it all just feels so genuine... Hope it lasts for many many years... :D
I really love all that you do to end the taboo of mental illness. It feels so normal and relatable. But this particular story arc with Royce and this exposure therapy esque pitching scenarios are wonderful. Gives me hope. Great show.
As someone that lives in New Mexico I'm stoked my state got the billboard. I've never heard of that town! if I watched this in a timely fashion I would've taken a road trip to see the sign :) Wonder if its still up??
Though I've watched and would still watch it regardless, I must say I wasn't too thrilled about the new TCGS. At first I thought it was the shorter format and the editing that was hurting the show, but it was the second part of "You OK?" episode that made me fully realise the problem I was having with the new show. The usual, unexpected and I assume initially unplanned feel-good character of MNN TCGS was tried to be replicated on Fusion in a manner that felt just too forced, too contrived for my taste. And then there was this rather embarrassing benignity that was present in the old show, but there it was rarely as overpowering and never to a point of ruining TCGS' comedic essence. Which, like in all best comedy, I always felt was rooted and coming from a much darker place. In the new show that was so infrequent it was like it wasn't present at all... But at the same time, that very episode featured the best throwback to the old show - The Psychiatones. While they were performing their little ditties, I thought, yes, this is still the show I've spent countless and certainly way too many hours watching and rewatching. And this penultimate episode felt even more like it. Great guest, great calls, many laughs (that Weird Science joke was perfect), and, of course, Vacation Jason. All that makes me hopeful about the second season and the renewal of the show - which should not even be in question. I just wish it won't take too long, cause after every pause the old show always had some difficulty gaining the momentum back and if that happens again I fear it might be even more damaging since the episode count is so low. Also, I hope the second season episodes will be uncensored on UA-cam. It just doesn't make sense to have them censored here. And most of all, I hope Chris (the main culprit) and everybody else will stop self-censoring themselves. It's better to be bleeped on TV than to kill a phrase by uttering "a bag of poop".
This show is strangely addictive.
This week on my strange addiction: "I like watching Chris Gethard"

What is with the creepy old lady spinning hoola hoops?
Creepy? I think she's endearing.
Mimi on the hoops!
Mimi is a sweetheart, why would you say she's creepy, she's just spinning hoops!
