Absolutely brilliant Jack! What a great use of a couple of old oil tanks! My only challenge will be loading the anchor - as there is no road.... I might have to make the anchor onboard. Your design is terrific though!

I can’t give you a scientific answer, but the blocks you see in the video are dropped into a muddy bottom and they settle right into the mud after awhile. They hold finger piers perpendicular to the shore and the boats are up to 20 meters long and they hold just fine without moving after many years.
    Hope that info helps.

You seem like the man to ask... I want to anchor my new (new to me) pontoon boat offshore of some land I bought on an island and eventually use the same anchors for the dock I build. I need to leave the boat for a week or two at times. But here's my real question. The drawings of concrete anchors with docks never look very big. Would my boat / 8'x20' dock need hundreds of pounds for each anchor in a small lake? Thanks for any help with this. I'm am totally new to boating and cottaging.
