    What if I want to find the area of a similar larger parallelogram? Do I just take the ratio of the lengths of one side of the parallelograms and square it to get the scale ratio for the area?

  • @confusedcrayons5481
    @confusedcrayons5481 4 роки тому

    But what if the problem has already set the two similar figures volume, and you need to find the scale factor? Do you just reverse the process from finding the volume of said figures or do you use another method?

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  4 роки тому

      Ame, correct! You would then take the cube root to find the scale factor.

    is there a way we can check that our answer for the area and volume is correct?

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  5 років тому +1

      Tasmim...it really depends on the problem...if it is an area or volume that is easy to calculate then you can definitely see if you did your calculations correct and used the scale factor correctly...

    What happens to a scale factor when you are finding the perimeter

    • @MariosMathTutoring

      Ayleen, the ratio of the perimeters is the same as the ratio of the sides.
