Crap, can't record 24/7 like the other ones. Now I'm stuck with this junk and I have no idea what to do with it
Another Wyze cam that has a stupid long notification time - consistently over 45 seconds (closer to a minute) . And pretty much useless short record time. This has to be one of the worst cams on the market - another nail in the Wyze coffin.
As an early backer, feel miserable for being so naive, outdoor camera that the base system needs to be continuously connected to wired network as if my router is next to my window. Also, there is no mention of it on the Wyze promo. Even this guy thought it could be wifi. The worst kind of implementation. This product has no reason to exist, not to mention all the other flaws it has.
Hi brilliant video I pre-ordered my Wyze Outdoor Cam sent it to my American address then it was shipped to the UK to be honest this is the worst Wyze camera Wyze has ever made never get notifications on my phone the V2 cameras is 100/% better for notifications I all ways get I have been in touch with Wyze will be returning the Wyze outdoor Camera back for refund I will stick with Reolink Lumus or the Argus 3 cameras I all really own
This camera is a pos. Battery needs to charged everyday. After charging it to 100% it goes right down to 94% in seconds. Its not recording even with cam plus. And a sd card. I think i either got a shit one. Or they all just suck. Waste of money. Dont buy this. Also. I email them and they never answer me and theres no number to call to talk to someone. Total rip off company
Stop assuming sir
And read directions if you plan to have a tutorial video
I don't know how many times you said "I guess I was assuming"
How can I view the playback???
good question someone who answers it knows how to do it
Sorry but you didn't explain how to actually make it work
I wish the base station would allow you to backup v2s as well... and allow you to connect a external drive to save your video.
Agreed
It will later... they are in the (thread) group
with google, Apple, and others. Google allowed Wyze to be controlled by google. 🤞🏽
“Don’t buy anything new, till the announcement”
Taylor can you do a video on “thread” or “chip”? Would love that!!! 🤛🏽👊🏽👌🏽😊👍🏽
I thought the same...it wasn’t advertised that way... that you needed to have it connected to a base station.. I’m returning them
Where can I do the playback
I backed this product. It is a trinket. Wired base, crappy iPad app (only portrait boo) and complicated setup. Threw out all my wyze junk. Cabin and house converted to Blink x2. Save your time and avoid Wyze. They are lost...I predict they will be going in 5 years like Contour. Great product ideas; pitiful execution and bad strategy
Blue light on my hub bridge keeps blinking blue. I try hard resetting but nothing keeps blinking .. I want to connect can anywonevhelp..
Do you have to have a router or just an internet modem .. because I don’t have an router but internet box ?
Thank you
Why wouldn't it come with the base station if you need one 🙄
Weak Review, don't quit your day job
is there anyway to get the red lights off?
2:49 Before I was also under the impression that the hue bridge would do wifi. But then I figured most of the hub/bridge thing would need a wired connection in order for it to broadcast its own 2.4ghz wifi or something like zigbee and z-wave.
For what it’s worth, one of the latest firmware updates allows the bridge to work on WiFi. I did need to connect my router to the Ethernet cable for initial setup, then once I updated to latest firmware, was good to go via WiFi. (Mid April, 2021)
Horrible how-to video
Thank you!
This system is a scam and a joke.
Do not buy
Can’t wait to see it mounted outside 👌🏽👍🏽😊
Do you know if the Outdoor cam will keep recording when it goes outside of the wifi zone (not in travel mode)? I would like to put this camera in my car to use as a poor man's Sentry Mode for my non-Tesla EV.
I don't know off hand, but I would think this would be a good implementation for travel mode.
@@TaylorTech I would like to mount one in the front dash and one in the back windshield. It would be a hassle to have to put it in Travel Mode each time I drive away. It would be nice to have the camera go into Travel mode automatically once it gets out of range of the base station and start recording to the SD card.
Another thing to consider is the PIR motion sensor won't record through the glass.
Does the base station have to be plugged into the router all the time, or just once during setup?
At all times unfortunately
@@TaylorTech. Thanks for a great review. Good news: a firmware upgrade allows the base unit to link up to your WiFi network now, so you don’t need to be tethered to the router anymore. That should make it easier to place your base unit where it will work the best.
Just during setup. Just played with mine and was able to switch it to WiFi and move it away from my router.
Would be interested to see what kind of range you can get if the base station is going to be in your basement near the switch.
I'll definitely be testing that out
So far, it seems pretty similar to a standard wifi router. I thought for sure it would act like a range extender. More to come...
My base station is in my basement and the camera is about 80 feet away at the back of my lot. (I am a beta tester.)
Mike Van Brunt , thank you for the information. Did you happen to take it on a “walk” to see how far you could go before loss of signal?
Great Review
