The fourth wall is part of the plot. All of this is simultaneously real and not real. It’s a cycle everyone is trapped in including Henry from the last game. The Drawn walls and machines, a labyrinthian studio that’s been closed for 30 years the present feeling of Deja vu, this is all fiction and it’s a fiction these souls are trapped in.

Joey drew the majority of these people and used the ink machine to bring them to life and trap them in the realm of the Ink Demon, not before his wife Alice (they are married in the real world and stopped him drawing these people, that's why there was a cut scene to when Joey met Henry after a bad dream, Henry isn't in the Ink realm). For example, Henry we see in the first game isn't real, he was drawn by Joey as revenge for the original Henry ditching him in the arts of devil worship and trapped "drawn Henry" in the realm to be tortured forever and to be resurrected to retell the somewhat same story line, that's why Audrey started the game in chapter 1 of the first game, just a bit different, we see this when Alice was stabbed and Allison wondered why it felt so familiar. The REAL Henry, Alison, Alice etc. are living in the real world rn, happy :) (I don't know all of them who were drawn, some of them, like Sammy, fell into devil worship and stayed with Joey when the ink machine corrupted the copies). I think the Inky Audrey we see in the game is one of the few that escaped with Bendy to watch over the Ink realm and be present in the real world too.
