A great example of this is when the Japanese emperor was gifted a robot by.. I think the French? In the 17th century they loved it, figured out how it was made and then build their own version that could load and fire an arrow from a bow into a target. If you had gifted the same to, say, Africans, they would have just used it until it was broken, zero desire to figure it out, maintain it and make their own version.

      Pokenopoly And Germany is still responsible today? I mean this very present? Come on, don't be so foolish by making the same embarassing faux-pas to believe that. It is a past before mine and my parents. Hell, even my grandma has been a small child and therefore had no influence or oppinion on WW2. Germans grow tired of those "accusations" the present generation still gets confronted over and over again.
      Germany does have a nasty past but shown its better side afterwards.
      We are tired of this. If nescessary, find some other argument of importance ;) Besten Dank!
      As for the machine - amazing engineering. I always wondered how modern times railways get setup but unfortunatelly never have checked it out. Cool to have seen this finally.

    • @joeemenaker
      @joeemenaker 9 років тому +1

      Exactly. The execs of the company that makes this... they're the ones that conservatives call the "job creators". Now, in all fairness, almost all human progress has been the result of productivity improvements (which, to economists, means: fewer workers needed to complete a task than it used to) which, usually, have the consequence of some workers being sent home. For those workers, this is traumatic and doesn't seem like "progress" at all, but it frees them up to re-train on jobs which are more complicated or to invent a belt-buckle which can also serve as a bottle-opener.

    • @paddles409
      @paddles409 9 років тому

      Joe Emenaker Yep, automation, or progress, is necessary even if it means some workers lose their jobs. Gradually each generation will realize the ONLY way to survive is to educate themselves, learn skills and trades that benefit society instead of popping out more babies for more government cheese. We still have a long way to go, unfortunately, but we can pass this youtube comment section wisdom to our children so they won't find themselves middle-aged, in an angry mob at city hall saying 'dey dookr derrrbss!".
