Agree with anything Macallan on the overrated, and Highland Park 15 (price is so ridiculously higher than the 12, and it's not much better, if even better). My underrated: Tomatin 18 (quality to price), and Talisker Distillers Edition (not because it rates poorly, but the perfect marrying of peat and sherry outclasses anything even near its price class).
Got into whisky 5 years ago, bought a Blanton's for 69€ (note that I live in the middle of the ocean). Loved it. Now it's 110€, same shop. Very good bottle imo but not worth that much
What 24-25 yr old scotch that is still relatively affordable can you recommend that represents the age factor the best . IE , notes you could only get from older scotch.
Macallan 18 is $900 CAD near me right now today. And at the same time Arran 18 is $150 CAD. So I can get a case of Arran 18 for the price of one Macallan 18.
I agree with Macallan, although the 12 Sherry is a lovely bottle, and pretty much available everywhere for not a crazy price. Blanton is great, although not worth the going rate. Anoc, pretty much everything is great, disagree on the Speyburn.
Lagavulin, Oban, Macallan, Weller, Blanton’s, Eagle Rare- all drinkable (except for maybe Oban), but nowhere near as good as lesser hyped bottles from integrity distilleries.
Overrated. Talkisker 10. Cheap and nasty. Under rated. Pretty much anything from Knockdu, Balblair, Benromach. I'd also add Longrow and Hazelburn brands simply because so many don't realise they are Springbanks.
Overrated: Macallan
Underrated: Aberlour 16 Double Cast
I’ve been looking at getting the Aberlour 16.
I happened to find a bottle of Blanton for $60. Definitely worth the $60 but I wouldn’t spend any more than that
I would, where u get that!

I Love Johnny Walker Black ❣️💯😉
My favorite affordable scotch

You know where is easy to find blantons? In Japan.
I agree the blantons is way overrated. It and eagle rare are good whiskeys IN THEIR price range which you almost never see.
Glen Scotia 15 is a beautiful thing
Ancnoc is awesome whisky, price now going slowly up :( Do like my Tomatin 18 too.
Scotch: Arran 17 year limited
Irish. : Redbreast 12 year
Bourbon: JD B.I.B
Rye. : Michters US1 single barrel

Affordable at that age doesn’t exist
Absolutely 1000% agree with the Macallan being overated
The sherry macallans were great but any bottled/sold after '04 are a bit shit for the money
What about singleton??
My 2 overrated: I agree with Macallen.. and Glenfiddich.
Underrated: GlenGarioch 15, Bunnahabhain 12
Why is GlenFiddich overrated? Their bottles are some of the cheapest around. They're mainstream single malt.
Glenfiddich is a great and affordable whisky imo, popularity totally deserved
Bunna 12 is my go to value malt
Bunnahabhain Moine is also a great bang for your buck
Absolutely agree with Bunnahabhainn, it's an underrated distillery.

Sponsored by Inver House! 😂 I agree though! Old Pultney 17 yo is another underrated one.

It so bad to get Blantons i have never even had a chance to try it
Macallan is the Jose Quevero or Capt. Morgan of the Scotch world.
It's not though is it? It's not poor quality, it's just overpriced but some of the sherry cask versions are great
Lagavulin, Oban, Macallan, Weller, Blanton’s, Eagle Rare- all drinkable (except for maybe Oban), but nowhere near as good as lesser hyped bottles from integrity distilleries.
Underrated anything Kilchoman, Highland Park
Japanese whiskey… most of them are overpriced
I just want to find one whisky vlogger that doesn't just repeat Ralfy's opinions
Mellow Corn's usually pretty underrated.
In my opinion and limited knowledge, the most uderrated whiskey is 'Glen Grant Arboralis'. Superb whisky for the price, real value for money!
Could you make us a video regarding the signatory bottles and what it means ?
They're an independent bottler.
If speyburn changes their label more stylish they might sell more but i also don't want that 😂
Blanton's, the drink of John wick . That's why it's sold out everywhere
Macallan 24year so expensive but is one of the best I've ever had!
Not a scotch but my favorite budget sipping whiskey is canadian club 12 year classic... so good!
Macallan is overpriced, but it taste great
You are right on.
Tamdhu batch strengths super underrated
I 💯 agree on everything you touched on. The whole Buffalo Trace line is overrated. Not sure what the fuss is over.
A nock pronunciation is throwing me. As its Anne kin-nock to me. Then again I have family who pronounce is Anne Croc.
100%
Dropping two 'forgotten' ones: Tullibardine and Scapa.
Over rated - Bunnahabhain
Under rated - Glen Elgin
Love my Bunna 12, I don't see how it's overrated. It's priced just right.
Cheers!
Cheers
How do u know the high end macallans are over rated??? You've never tried them.
Speyburn 15 is bland.
At $150 it is a rip off.
Lol shit take
Underrated... Wild turkey... Rare breed..
this is correct
I love under rated
Overrated. Talkisker 10. Cheap and nasty. Under rated. Pretty much anything from Knockdu, Balblair, Benromach. I'd also add Longrow and Hazelburn brands simply because so many don't realise they are Springbanks.
Overated for sure is macallan, dalmore and Lagavulin.
Underated - kilkerran, balblair, glencaddam, glenturret.
Disagree with you on Lagavulin
After having Blanton's Gold I will never buy the Original.
Underrated: Ben Nevis, Mortlach
Overrated: Lagavulin, Glenfiddich
People that say Macallan is overrated just can’t afford it. Do your research
Eh
Ouch, I have never seen a more incorrect statement.
Please never try and pronounce Blantons again. You’d think anyone would be able to pronounce it, but somehow you managed to butcher it.
