Dude, I wish people would be this open to listening to him. I feel like so many people are missing out. Like, he's really famous and has a huge fanbase but there's an entire audience that's closed off to him because of the misconception of where he comes from.
Can you believe that he didn't get a Grammy for Sign of the Times? Despite THIS sound reaching top 5 in the Hot 100, top 10 on pop radio and being certified double Platinum in the state of current radio? You know what they said when everyone was rightfully pissed off at his snub? That he'd been really close to getting it but that ultimately he hadn't reached the excellence necessary. A literal joke. Rock radios refused to play it based on his name alone and we tried so hard to get them to give it a chance.
Harry made THIS sound get over a billion streams and 10M sales worldwide in the late 2010s it's a fucking shame that it doesn't get more recognised.
Harry also writes his own music and plays several instruments. He's a music nerd, you should read his latest Rolling Stone interview (check for the one titled "The Eternal Sunshine of Harry Styles" by Rob Sheffield, he did another one back in 2017 and it's interesting but not as much into the rock-y stuff as the latest one). He talks about all his influences and it's so interesting. He was really stoked about Blue by Joni Mitchell for a while so he tracked down the person that made her dulcimer and got them to teach him how to play it and build one for him, specifically for his album.
He's really close friends with Stevie Nicks who calls him "her little muse". They performed together a bunch of times, standout was Stop Draggin' My Heart Around at her Hall of Fame induction (Harry was her inductor). He played rhythm guitar and sang Tom Petty's parts. His speech was also very lovely.
And he's such a nice guy. Like, incredibly nice. Sadly, today he had to testify in court because of a trial against his stalker. In the trial it was revealed that back in March Harry tried to help a homeless young guy, offered him money for food and shelter, the guy said no for religious reasons but asked him for food, so Harry drove around London to buy him the food he wanted. After that he helped him a bunch of times, but soon started to notice that the guy started following him, and would stare at him menacingly. He started sleeping outside of Harry's house and put notes through his letter box. One night, Harry was jogging and the guy jumped him. He told one of Harry's neighbours that he and Harry were soulmates and that he was in love. Harry was so creeped out that he hired security and put a panic lock in his bedroom. But when asked if he regretted helping him, he said no. That's just the latest example of the kind of guy Harry is. He's the kind of guy that inspires a girl in her mid-twenties (me) to write paragraphs to a stranger about him. Seriously, can't even explain it.
And his fashion sense is like that lol. He's the face of Gucci and is pretty quirky with his outfits. It works for him, though. That suit is one of the least scandalous he owns. For his show at The Garage, in London, he wore the same suit but in hot pink lmao.
I love the fact that you just wrote an essay here about Harry! I love him sm, I never heard 1D before discovering him, but I'm so glad I did and I got to see him in concert twice. He's great and I'm so excited about how his new album is going to sound like

Tysm for explaining so much about him. But jus one thing I want to tell you is that even though Harry is killin' in his solo career, not only Harry but all other 1D members, but I still think they were amazing together as well. People should change the stereotype that boybands can't be good or something like that. I mean 1D definitely has that pop rockish sound which people are gonna love if they give them a try even though they are not together at this point. As a directioner, I want them back but at the same time, I think they are slaying as solo artists. The reason I am telling you this is cx that even though people are loving his music but they should give a try to 1D too. They were/are amazing too.

zobothehobo It wasn’t the first time. He lost his breath once on his first tv appearance and that’s it, putting that down to super nerves. He had sung it plenty of times before without issues during recording, rehearsals, Behind The Album etc. Are you the same zobothehobo from tumblr btw?

Harry is incredible. I became a fan after his first album came out and he’s an absolute sweetheart. (Also the pants are actually Gucci-he’s done multiple ad campaigns for them and wears a ton of it :). )

I couldn't possibly rave enough about this guy. Every single person who meets him - fans, non-fans, people in the industry, literally anyone - only has nice things to say about him. I've never heard a bad story and he's been in the industry like 10 years now. He does lots of charity work but never brags about it or tries to publicize it. The only way people ever find out is because the charities will say something or if he went to meet a fan, they'll talk about it. I saw him on tour twice last year and his engagement with the audience was insane! He talked to so many different people and was hilarious. All he tries to do is spread the messages of love, acceptance and kindness. He starts every show by saying that he wanted attendees to be whoever they wanted to be. And of course he's crazy talented. You should definitely listen to his first record and watch some of his other live performances. Also tour moments! Anyways, I'm rambling. All I'm trying to say is you should definitely look into him more.

The funny thing is... His voice improved so much since this performance he's now so confident with this song but at the time it sounded at some points like he wasn't sure if he could hit the notes and now 2 years later his voice is so much better even though I never thought it even could get better than in 2017

I love seeing you fall down the Harry Styles rabbit hole. This was my entry point, and what a ride. Take some time and watch everything. The last couple of 1D albums will surprise you. Harry is a performer, his stage presence is mighty. His music is even better live than recorded. As so many suggest get a taste of his personality on Carpool Karaoke, other reactors have had to cut it though so be warned.

I am really enjoying the process of watching more people realize how good he really is. His solo music is so far detached from what he did with One Direction (and this is coming from a 1D fan), and so diverse. His entire album was like a cornucopia of all his musical influences, with something uniquely Harry to it. He was my favorite from the group, not just because he was adorable and so humble (I'm old enough to be his mother), but his voice started off good and kept getting better. He's also one hell of an entertainer. I was fortunate enough to see him in 2017 in Phoenix in a small 5000 seat venue, and he sounds as good live as he does on albums, sometimes even better. I would definitely recommend listening to more of his stuff if you haven't already.

I also think you should react to the landslide duet he did with stevie nicks.. he started crying because he's been listening to stevie since he was a kid and he was so overwhelmed to be singing with her.. watching anyone discover how talented harry is truly is one of my favorite things and its even better when people realize what a good person he is... so you should also maybe react to compilations of him being kind or just funny moments cause he's honestly the sweetest person... He donated over 1.2 million dollars that he earned on his last tour to charities that he believed in.. and that's just an estimate of donations from what we've heard about.

Omg!!! I loved this reaction cause the same thing happened to me, I was watching one of those audition videos from the voice and someone auditioned with sign of the times and I was like... What a beautiful song! That took me to Harry and his album which is amazing and been hooked since then. I also felt bad that I was never interested in his music cause he was like "that guy from 1D" didn't know what I was missing obviously, so video after video took me to his audition and all the 1D story and when all the boys auditioned and passed to the live shows he is the first one to run to thank Simon, very down to earth guy.
