Thanks for the support Glenn. I was using a Shimano Terez 40-80lb rod, 7”2 in length. I honestly find them perfect for bottom bashing off a boat as it has great strength in the lower end of the rod, yet the tip has enough sensitivity to feel those subtle bites 😀

I think your 'purple mori cod' is a blue mori cod. You have such a wide variety of fish in qld compared to us southern states (vic) its hard to keep up with them all. Keep fishing love your channel, living the dream!!!

@johnnychowjc I am learning all your fish typee as i watch I am from Victoria. We have less variety of fish here in the cooler waters. Also during winter our fishing slows down a lot as most fish migrate. Our prime fishing season is starting right now and should see one of the best snapper seasons yet with 2 years in a row of mega spawns.
John how come you don’t keep the red throat and spangled emperors very good eating
I know they are good eating. Just sometimes we prefer to release some fish for next time 😀
