Anyone can behave shamefully, even someone who's been the victim of rape. There's a difference between shaming them for their shameful behavior (like taking up for a rapist or shaming another rape victim, like Carroll) and shaming them for having been raped.

@jimmyw7291 it's simple to understand. It's shameful for a victim of a sex crime to turn around and support or rally around perpetrators of that same sex crime they once had to condem someone for. If you don't see the teeth in questions bad news people ask of good people they want to hurt. Then your pretty blind. Must be a democrat. Don't matter if you see anything or not. You just hate trump. Most commenters should consider looking up the history of Nancy Mace, and put aside political leanings. Politics aside, she is an outstanding human being. And she is correct in that there were no criminal findings of rape against Trump, and even the civil case did NOT find Trump liable for rape. Stephanopoulos' questioning on this was totally unexpected, and he did put her in a defensive position, which begs the question as a journalist was this a hit piece designed with "Gottcha Questions" from the start?
It’s not a gotcha question to ask how she could be so hypocritical. Trump’s a rapist. His sexual assaults have their own Wikipedia page. She supports him. That means she’s putting her ambition ahead of her deeply held beliefs. Fair game to question her on it.

How can a victim of rape or sexual assault, abuse, or harassment even consider supporting a person who is a notorious serial offender. He said he could grab women by the pu$$y and they just let him??? I am appalled and insulted that she supports an abuser when she claims to have been assaulted! As a victim of sexual assault I'd rather see him in a 3rd world country in prison than have him represent this country. Agree Nancy Mace was trying to shut down the debate and it's a lesson for the major media should Trump be reelected. He will do all kinds of unconstitutional and unethical things and his cabinet secretaries and staff will appear on the Sunday shows using the same playbook. George Stephanopolous cannot be intimidated but many other reporters have shown they can be and Trump is counting on this. The media is going to have to toughen up to deal with Trump term two which will be very different then term one.
It’s a very skilled if craven way to shut down that line of questioning. I’m impressed and repelled.

@@MattLewis Its definitely difficult interviewing these kind of bulldozer figures that double down and blowhard their way through an interview, but interviewers need to get smarter about how to do it. This talking over and coughing and spluttering and "but surely you must see that" stuff isn't working. He's falling into her trap. Better, more incisive questions are needed and less interrupting is needed, not getting drawn into this kind of exchange
