Good work! I wish the mix on Abigail had a larger focus on the low end, like the early Mercyful Fate records did. Also, if you don't know him yet, Kienan Plays Bass has lots of excellent Fate and KD bass covers!
@@neil_song I was just watching some his stuff since I'm back on my Timi Hansen worship! Yeah, I really wish all the records had the low end of Melissa. Even DBTO seems to lack in that regard compared to Melissa. That being said, hearing Abigail on headphones or a good speaker, the bass track is nice and centered and you can pick out every note. Just not as "big" sounding as the earlier stuff.
Awesome! Great playing, and great sound too! 👍 And, of course, great choice of song from an album that's is full of great songs from beginning to end. I have bought it in summer of '87 and listened to it a lot! Learned some songs (or bits of them). I totally agree with what you wrote about Timi Hansen in the description (oh, by the way, the power chords you added fit well). Very skilled bassist! I have always appreciated him. Mercyful Fate is one of my favorite HM bands since mid 80's. I have made some bass covers of theirs on my channel (one is Satan's Fall! 😬). Maybe not played always totally faithful, because I tend sometimes to play my interpretation of the songs that I cover. But still hoping to not ruin them too much, of course! 😆 Greetings!
@@N0_Raa666 Thank you! The way I got to it, was of course listening to a LOT of music. Learning some simpler stuff with certain patterns. Let's say a Black Sabbath song or something where you can really pick out the pentatonic scales and note patterns they use. Eventually, you'll be able to recognize super similar patterns in other artists' music, especially within similar styles. It will be at the point where even when you're just listening you can recognize patterns. Remember, there's only 12 notes, so there's only so many combinations you need to understand in order to find the right thing always!
Good work, wonderful, you are a great bass player, like 👍, saludos 🎸💯⚡🔥🤘
That's 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I wish I saw more Mercyful Fate bass cover on YT! Great Work! Keep it up! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great cover!!
Stay Heavy 🤘🤘🤘
Great Job!
I still say being the bass player is the most FUN role in the band
