I appreciate the comment. I will discuss this more in the future, but it' a complicated situation. I do think the Os need to go get at least one more arm via trade or free agency. But this team is going to go as far as their young talent continues to improve. If they take a jump from last year, Baltimore can be scary good.
The Orioles can't pay $250- $300 million for 10 years. Corbin could get hurt any year, though I hope he doesn't. The Orioles can do a lot with $300 million, including extending Adley, Gunnder,Westburg and Cowser--or whichever of these guys they can extend.
Burnes said he wants to be on a team that is poised to win for a long time. The Giants are poised to finish 3rd or 4th for the duration of a Burnes contract.
New head of baseball operations with Buster Posey and the Giants have some solid pieces in place. With this playoff format too, easier to make playoffs. Just get in and anything can happen. We will see how it unfolds. I appreciate the comment
@@RYANRIPKENMEDIAlook at that lineup and what it did last year. Adames isn’t gonna make that lineup better, maybe 4 more of him would. They are horrid offensively. That’s not gonna change next season or anytime soon. So yeah, the O’s are setup to be good over the next several years, not the Giants.
He has been super consistent in his career no doubt. It is a lot of money to give out in a time and age where pitching injuries are at an all-time high. And the final question still remains does Corbin want to be back? I guess we will find out soon. Thanks for commenting
Corbin was fantastic for the Orioles But, I really would rather they use that cash to sign Gunnar and Westburg and possibly Adley to long term contracts. The Pirates say they are interested in trading Jared Jones. That is a trade I would love to see them make happen.
If this is true that Burnes doesn’t want to resign with the O’s then why haven’t the O’s pivoted and signed another top of the rotation type starter or traded for one? Unless you guys believe that Sugano his that replacement which would be so sad and yet so Orioles.
I don't think Sugano has hit that replacement. I think the Os are looking at all their options. I do believe another free agent arm could be a possibility, but it makes the most sense to me to see the Os go get an arm via a trade. I think where Sasaki ends up could push the pitchers market even more.
The O's won't cough up that much money to a pitcher, That's there MO.. They will wait for all the free agents to sign then get what's left. That's there MO.
Good conversation about what may influence Corbin Burnes' decision about where to sign. It brings to mind how Santander expressed he wanted to come back and yet it seems he will not get an offer from the O's. Aside from his production, Santander is a team guy and a leader in the clubhouse. The younger guys like Henderson and Cowser look up to him. He is part of what makes coming to work fun for this team. While they don't want to risk getting stuck with a big long-term contract with an aging player as a rule, it seems they are willing to freely spend money in other instances where there is also risk of non-performance. Maybe it would have been worth spending several million more a year to bring Santander back if you factor in what you are paying for in replacement costs and the affect not doing so may have on the clubhouse culture and the perceived desirability of Baltimore as a place for free agents. How the club treats Santander - a guy who played well for them over years, was a great team leader, and wanted to stay in Baltimore - might not send the greatest message to the team's younger stars who the O's presumably want to sign long term.
Glad you enjoyed Andy. The Santander situation would have been re-signing him before the 2024 season. Once Tony started getting hot this year, he wanted to test his value out on the market. It always feels good to retain guys that have stuck with the team and grown over time. I would love Tony back, but that is the nature of the business. I don't think it will impact the young stars like Westburg, Adley or Gunnar to re-sign. Time will tell. Appreciate the comment!
I'd love the big fella to stay. He has proven himself as the most consistent and durable Ace of the last few years. But, as long as he doesn't go to NY or Boston, we're good 😂🙏
As a Giants fan living in Baltimore for the last 20 years this was a fun conversation. Good luck to the O's, but watch out...Buster is bringing back THE Bay Area.
Agree with holding on to our home grown talent, but you need to add the right free agents to put the team over the top, especially pitching.

Burnes was sooo consistent. Please God, give us Corbin for a few years. Please.

I would consider 250 for a pitcher of Corbin Burnes caliber to be a deal. He’s as close to a sure thing at pitcher as you can get.

I agree with using the $250 million plus Burnes wants to extend Adley, Gunnar and/or Jordan.
if it’s an either or, then yes, fo sho

Boros has always had contentious negotiations with O's resign Burnes fun fact Mountcastle uses gloves provided by Chris Davis

If Burnes wants to be apart of the best division in baseball and have great impact he will sign 5 year 160 million dollar deal with Orioles.
Hopefully he doesn’t go to another American League east team.
That would be a tough one to swallow. If it's to Giants, that would make sense and be understandable. Let's hope Giants if it isn't Baltimore.
Bring back Burnes.
At all cost Burnes must be signed. Or they have no chance. Burnes is the real deal.
Burnes is one of the best out there. He is a stud. I just am not holding out hope he comes back. Hope that is not the case. Thanks for commenting.
Give Gunnar the bag and let’s go from there. Bobby Witt style
So Burnes most likely gone ,sign Santander.
But Santander doesn't pitch. The O's need an ace starting pitcher.
Need idk? Want yes.....a.cpl decent starters and sure up BP would help@@albisasky766
The heck with Santander, sign Corbin Burnes.
They better sign Burnes or their going nowhere. Sign Corbin Burnes.
Why do teams overpay aging players??
Typically, most teams pay for what players have accomplished, not what they will do over the next contract
Do MLB players really want to be "close to home"??? 😂
Actually yes. More than you think. Players have different priorities.
We need to extend and develop our core young talent. Not spend it on free agents.
We have no pitching! Hello
Keeping your young core would be vital. I agree steven

Thank you for commentating and glad you enjoyed! I am excited what Buster is building out there. The Giants run from 2010 to 2014 was fun to watch.
You guys make zero sense. Ridiculous.
I appreciate the comment, but can I ask what does not make sense? What is your take on the Corbin Burnes situation?
