Ya that’s why my grandmother moved to the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2. It’s basically a smart phone but it has a number keypad and a touch screen. She used to have an iPhone, then she switched to a Nokia Kai os thing because the iPhone was like carrying a brick, but it lagged a lot and she liked answering her phone calls from her car and the Nokia’s Bluetooth never worked. Nokia's flip phone is great. This is a model packed with charm. I'm a Japanese essayist. It's called mikan oshidari(忍足みかん🍊). I have published a book called [I want to stop being a slave to my smartphone]. I switched to a flip phone because of my smartphone addiction. It's for mental health. It's comfortable to use as a flip phone. But I'm worried about what will happen if flip phones are no longer manufactured due to smartphones. So I'm happy to hear about Nokia's flip phone. Although you can't buy Nokia in Japan. But if flip phones become popular overseas, that wave will probably come to Japan as well. I look forward to that. Flip phones also allowed young Americans to watch the news. I want flip phones to become more popular.
I ordered this 3 months ago on eBay for $91 USD and I am using it here in Canada on the Freedom network but with the Nationwide access I am often on Rogers or Telus with no problems. No issues at all with functionality, and I really like the call quality as well as USB C charging. With KaiOS I can get basic Google maps when needed. I use the browser to save my Facebook Messenger onto the home screen. Allows instant access though it obviously doesn't send notifications. Photos are actually quite good in well-lit conditions and I transfer from the device using Bluetooth. I often use the WiFi Hotspot feature to connect my tablet or computer. As an older person, I really like T9. I actually prefer it to touchscreen keyboards!
Regarding T9, I own Samsung smartphone, and it's keyboard has the option to display the old alphanumeric keypad plus T9, feels almost like retro phone.
Having used my Nokia 2720 Flip 4G for the past 18 months, I can safely skip Nokia 2780 Flip 4G and look forward to their new flip phone coming in 2024.
It’s so sad to me because Nokia is my favorite brand but kaios spamming me on my Nokia 6300 has me looking for other options in hardware and software. Thank you for the thorough review as always.
Just got one of these and I'm loving the built-in maps and internet radio minus the social media trash. It feels like something out of an imagined future in 2005 where the iPhone never came into existence and Symbian became the dominant platform.
Great that your channel is dedicated to dumbphones & thank-you for this review. I'm glad to see KaiOS developing & improving as a year ago I thought it might die off. This phone looks almost perfect for me. I purchased a new Motorola E30 smartphone (£90) earlier this year as my old phone died & I didn't feel KaiOS was quite there yet, but my 10 month old Motorola is glitching & becoming temperamental already so I'm eyeing up a possible replacement like this. Hopefully Nokia bring it to Europe soon.
My Nokia g50 has been bad since android thirteen update. I'm actually wanting to switch to a Nokia kai os phone. I can't afford apple. Androids glitches have become worse. So that means kai os is my next shot.
Hi Jose. Great video! I previously owned a Nokia 2720 flip with KaiOS 2.4.x. It was... very unresponsive and laggy to say the least. One time it took at least 10 seconds to open the call log. What a shame, because I loved the device due to how many peculiar features it offered for a flip phone! (Google Assistant for example). If not for the unreliability of the software experience as well as the flimsiness of the keypad, I would have still used it. Have you used the 2780 enough to notice any stutters and lags? Because I just want a phone that is reliable and snappy, and knowing that it has USB C I am tempted to give KaiOS phones a try again. I am currently using the 105 Plus (doesn't have KaiOS) and it's really fast, gets the job done, maybe you could review it on your channel soon?
For those who want to minimize their smartphone usage, don’t throw your smartphone. Instead, use the parental controls and lock it with password that you don’t know. Make someone you trust that will not forget it or let him write it down on a paper and store it in your desk or any accessible place. Block all apps except for the essential ones like phone, sms, maps, camera etc. This is much more convenient since your smartphone will be smoother than any feature phone. As long as you have sms, phone calls and maps, you can do any thing you want. Use your laptop for everything else.
These new Nokia feature phones are perfect for regular phone calls, just like old mobile phones and 100-year-old landline phones. That's one of their main advantages over 'smart' phones. Everyone using a feature phone will know how to hang up. Whenever I have to use a smart phone for a phone call, I have to tell the other side to hang up as I can't figure out how to do it without turning the phone off. It's never one of the obvious buttons, and given that there is usually a screen lock in place I guess it's actually necessary to unlock the phone in order to hang up. Ridiculous. This crappy user experience should never have made it through quality control, and yet it has been absolutely standard for over a decade.
@@rishabh_80winters and that’s exactly why I mentioned the parental lock. You should block every non essential app with a password that you don’t know. You should block the browser too since you will try to login to your social media when you go out if control. The bottom line is, you must have self-control; blocking every distraction will only make you more distracted.
Smartphones are bulky these days (well, always has been but most just gets bigger and bigger), hard to put in most pockets and they're pretty hefty in weight too. Feature phones way more convenient to carry.
Thanks for the review, it helped me decide to order one of these. I've been looking for a decent dumbphone with just a few extras like a media/podcast player and GPS since I just moved to a new state, and a slightly better camera than VGA. This one seems to check all my boxes, and that red is pretty snazzy. Can't wait to get it :D
Excellent review, Jose! Finally a Nokia device with group texts and hotspot AND it works on VZW networks. Maybe if I can get rid of my 6400 4G I'll pickup one of these.
KaiOS recommendations. It doesn’t have Spotify or anything like that, but it does have apps like Mocha Radio and Radio Waves which allows you to stream the radio/other internet stations. I use it over the actual FM radio just because it sounds better and it has nearly all local stations.
Thank you for this. I have subscribed because I think your site is likely to be the best for tracking the much needed improvements to KaiOS. I have a 2780. It replaced my ancient 2270 a few months ago when my antique charge hole became defective. Not bad for 20 years but it was made in Finland and now Nokias are made in the far east. I miss the low battery warning of the old Nokia and have to say that the 2780 with KaiOS has very poor battery life, even with little use. The old Nokia would hold a charge for 4 to 5 days but the 2780 depletes in less than 2 and occasionally I go to answer a call and see a notice "In low battery mode". This necessitates a few minutes charging to take the call then getting to full charge is about 30 mins. Mine here in Ireland is not USB C. The old phone and my moody Doro used to show a message waiting icon on the external screen whereas the new one has to be opened and checked. As a phone hater this is not good because it rather like waking up one of the damned smartphones my daughters keep giving me when they upgrade. As a matter of fact I am more than computer savvy and specialize in data recovery as a pension supplement [odd occupation for a retired psychologist] BUT my dislike of smartphones has many causes, not just the addiction element but much more the sealed batteries rendering devices always on in some way or another. Accordingly I keep my own smart phones and those I repair for neighbours in a lead-lined wooden box which belonged to my sailor uncle and the 4 which are mine have dead flat batteries. I keep a Moto 13 in my car just in case of emergency and it is quite good for location but it never comes into the house. The Nokia 2780 would be a rather good dumb phone with better battery life via making KaiOS easier to make 'bare bones', which I hope they will do at long last. Dumb phones are for basic communication and a selection of items the target market of older people (often with some age related audio and visual impairments and sometimes creaky hand joints) thus adding features is the antithesis of necessity. Many elderly people are competent with smart phones but do not want to carry them around and be mugged in the cities. Few street thieves would snatch a dumb phone.
I was looking on the Nokia website and I saw this, I didn't really see many reviews and I didn't know it was brand new. So I discover your channel through it, And I'm actually thinking about getting this or the 2720. Maybe even OG 3310, just a simple phone for calls and text, plus Nokia makes some okay phones and some bizarre ones too lol
I always (lately) keep a work/back up flip.Been using an Alcatel Trac fone flip. It's a $20 burner. Using KaiOS system is good enough for back up. I am going pro active getting a Nokia 2780 which seller says uses Tracfone . Will need their Sim card for sure.
Thanks so much making this review! I just wanted to clarify on the group messages... I understand that thesubject line is not needed but does the conversation get threaded or does it blast out individual messages to each recipient? Everything I could find online suggests the latter. Also, do you know if it can stream audio content from the web browser with the lid closed like I assume the podcast, radio and music apps do? Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video. I picked one up thinking that because WhatsApp and Google Duo were in the KaiOS store that they would work on this device. The KaiOS store has pretty poor indication of which apps work for which versions (at least that I can tell). WhatsApp even said that the most recent release was November '22. I was pretty disappointed in the build quality (the home button felt like it would wear out pretty quickly), the hinge quality seemed pretty poor, and giving the KaiOS limitations this was a no-go for me. I'm glad you took the time to review it! I threw mine on eBay after a couple hours of messing with it. My issue is that I need simplicity of device without compromising some sort of secure messaging (... maybe the Punkt MP02 is for me...)
Been looking for something like that too. Please do tell me if you've got any leads. I hardly use my phone aside from whatsapp. But I also want it to be a phone from a reliable brand.
Emporia touch smart 2. In Italy 99.9 Amazon. No jokes. Kaios isn t working in Europe they still are at the 2.5 version and as I see here also the 3.1 isn t good.
cricket is at&t your question should be: "does it cover at&t LTE bands the answer is yes except band 30 but you will be ok the next question is" is it white listed by at&t" google the list it covers 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 41, 66, 71
I just bought this phone for my mom. She really likes it! The only problem so far, is that when she receives calls to the people in her contact list their name doesn’t display. How can we fix this issue?
Excellent video, thankyou! I've been waiting for reviews on this device and was glad to see yours. I have a question about the sonim xp3 plus. It's a device I'd love to upgrade to as my link 2 from consumer cellular is really cheaply made. Where do I find one of these? I've only seen some sketchy eBay listings for carrier locked devices, and I don't see anything on the website. Can this device be purchased in the u.s for use on att/cc?
This phone seems amazing but the Ads are a gigantic turn off for me and if the ads are directly linked to the Operating System, i unfortunately wont be buying the phone or any KaiOS device, which is a shame because phones like this are exactly what im looking for. I may have to do some research but there are only so few outlets putting anything out for the device. I may just have to try it out myself and see what I can do to minimize or get rid of the ads entirely
Thank you Jose for this review. I am trying to buy my mom a basic good phone. She’s very old skool and likes her flip phones. Any advice on which one would be a good purchase?
Jose, I just purchased a 2780 from Nokia, and I am wanting to use this as a Wifi Hotspot. Did you ever confirm what carrier allows for the Internet Sharing on this device?
Thanks for review Jose, great channel. Could you please confirm whether: - contacts are being managed by gmail/google (i.e. can be imported in a few clicks from my current android smartphone, but also exported from my KaiOS device to the google cloud) - whatsapp can be used with voice messages/memos? - google voice is available to ask for search, for Maps, for weather... - I'm in Europe but this seems to be the best Nokia feature phone currently available, so I'm willing to order it from the US: would you agree it's the case? Or do you think Nokia Banana phone, or Nokia 2720 would just be fine? It's unclear what the differences are. Thanks so much for your help.
lovely video. i'm thinking of getting one for my grandma for christmas and possibly one for myself. kinda sick of iphones. do you think this would work with spectrum wireless? they use verizon towers as well. thanks!
@@JoseBriones okay ! thank you for your quick response. i have two other questions: are you able to apply a wallpaper to the small notification outer-display? and also, can this send and recieve picture messages? thanks so much!
I'm in the age of grandma and looking for anything but a smart phone to make life easier. I had nothing but trouble with Spectrum smart phones and their internet so suggest you get your grandparents away from Spectrum. If I could I'd take a Blackberry over all cell phones. CIAO
Great video! Really quick question: for group text, I was reading that you can create a group, but you still receive messages individually? Do you know if that is true?
Hey Jose. If you had to pick ONE between the 2720, 2760 or 2780 which one are you taking? Also what’s your favorite flip phone out right now in terms of build quality?
Hi Jose, thanks for the video! I was wondering: does this one come with any sort of talk-to-text? Thats one of my favorite features of the 2720 I use now. Even though Google Assistant dropped support, the solution KaiOS implemented as a replacement is still pretty great for texting and web searching. I would be really hard-pressed to switch to this if it didnt have that feature.
Thank you for the great review and all the other ones you post. I have been looking for a candy bar phone that is compatible with Verizon but that doesn’t seem to be an option. You mentioned that the 2780 works good with Verizon in your area…what specs would indicate if it would work good in my area?
I received the phone today and I really like it. The only problem....can't receive texts. I've read a few things to try but I believe I'll have to resort to Verizon customer service to fix it. Not sure if there are any work arounds.
I almost feel like i wish I could pin your video so I would get to it faster. I think I watch your video mostly everyday. Is the best video of the Nokia 2780 Flip. I don't think I have ever done that with other videos, unless is a meditation guided video. I really want to get the 2780, though I already have the Nokia 6300. I think I just want the USB type C, a 5 megapixel camera, a larger keypad, been able to type texts while on a phone call, group texting, as screen goes is not much of a difference, a refresh update of kaiOS version 3.1 would be nice. I cannot update my 6300 past 2.5.4 which I checked just now. I don't know how is that the 4.0 version is out. It probably only available on the Jio 2 Phone. Thank you Jose for always making great videos.
Loved the video, I was eagerly waiting for this particular walkthrough. Idk if its gonna come out in my country.... But if it does I'm definitely getting this one. I wished it had whatsapp and spotify but nevertheless it is still great. Since India has no good dumb/flip phones except Nokia 2660 flip, I really hope his one comes out. I wished other companies showed their interest in Indian market cause dumbphone market is huge but all of them are like from 2010s. . Lovely video. Have a wonderful weekend.
@@uvotmin Are you sure? Because I heard that earlier, WhatsApp was not there for KaiOS 3.0 but I just checked the official WhatsApp website and they've written that WhastApp is available for KaiOS 2.5+. Can you confirm?

Hi, Thank you for the review on Kai Os. I really like it having WiFi hotspot. Haven't heard about it in a long time. Don't if it's still developed or not. I have question to ask from you. Is it possible to sync things like contacts, notes, calendar etc with a PC or cloud? Thanks again for the review.
Hi Mr Jose, can you do a head-on comparism between Nokia 2720 vs Nokia 2780 just to see the big difference in real use (in Kai 2.5 ft Kai 3.1.0 respectively )
@@JoseBriones I second this request! I'm on Verizon, and I'm considering moving to a dumbphone, but I'm torn between these two devices. I really like the styling of the 2720 V, and I'm concerned that Kai 3.1 might be worse than 2.5. But I do appreciate the upgraded specs on the 2780. Really, what I'd love to see, is a great candybar phone like the 6300 that works on Verizon and is snappy enough to be practical, and also has that sub-$100 price tag.
Hi Jose, thanks for the review! I was wondering what your thoughts were for this device. Some questions, 1) Since they cannot be deleted, does KaiOS allow you to at least hide pre-installed apps? 2) If hiding is not allowed, can they be manually moved in a different order (e.g., moving UA-cam to the third screen of apps)? 3) Does the keyboard remember the last entry method you used, such as predictive, when you start a new message? 4) Years ago some KaiOS users used to say that KaiOS (probably versions 2.5 or so) had a memory manager and it was recommended to clear the ram every couple of days or the os would get sluggish. Is that no longer the case with version 3.0 or 3.1? 5) Is it possible to pick an app on the screen by long pressing on the number keys and not having to use the arrow keys? I thought that used to be able to be done on older dumb phones. Thank you, Jose!!
1) You can move them all the way to the bottom and "hide" them that way 2) See above 3) Yes. It does remember, but it's app specific 4) No longer needed to do the memory manager as 3.0 and 3.1 manage it superbly compared to 2.5. The device is super stable 5) Have not been able to find a way for this. I assume it's not possible sadly.
Thanks for this comprehensive review! So I see there's no Whatsapp here, but seeing you have access to the current KaiOS store: Other than Whatsapp, is there *any* messaging app at all? Signal, Threema, Matrix, Viber etc? Also it would be really great if you could also showcase the e-mail client on phones in your upcoming videos - it was the only important information I missed in this one. In absence of the typical messaging apps, e-mail is what basically comes closest.
Hi there! :) Hopefully, you'll see this comment soon. :) Question... is there a feature to make the cell number "unavailable"? Samsung (for example) can set this up to "show" the number or "hide" the number. Can you point me in the right direction? :) Thanks and GREAT upload! Very helpful. :)
There is no feature by default sadly. However, you can contact your carrier to ask for the code to put before you call a number to make the phone "unavailable."
i think kaios will be big if google message is their default message app with rcs support, youtube real app can be navigate via dpad not cursor and improve kai os store
Thanks for your very detailed reviews! I've watched quite a few of your videos and I've found them very informative and helpful. More so than any other place on the internet for the small dumb phone market. Now I'm just hanging around in the hopes for a device that's *cheap* like the one in this video but has Spotify, Whatsapp and hotspot capabilities. I originally found the features I was looking for in the CAT s22 flip but $200 is a bit much for a flip phone 😅. Thank you so much for your videos! They're really great 👍
I'm really exhausted by using heavy brick-shaped smartphones 😢 and now decide to buy one of those nokia feature phones just for call and message as the second phone, but I don't know to buy one with internet and wifi feature or the simple one! Could you please guide me to choose which one? For instance Nokia 2660 flip or Nokia 8210 or Nokia 5710, or what you can suggest me? In addition, does this Nokia 2780 support persian language if you know? Special Tnx 🎉
I have a Nokia 6300 and am thinking about this phone since it has group text for a break (digital detox) from my iPhone SE 2. Current price is 89.99 on amazon. Should I switch?
It's a good option. The 6300 does have group text, but you have to add a subject every time to the group text message in order to make sure that it goes as an MMS.
My family kicked me of the the group text with the Nokia 6300 and found me adding the subject to each text annoying. I know that is their problem but it hurt and they don't understand.
Hi, could you please share to us what’s your experience when you use this phone to share internet and/or to have it do wifi hotspot? Was it fast and okay?
So the unlocked 2780 direct from Nokia has hotspot sharing? I'm seeing reviews on their website that say it doesn't. And the site doesn't list it as a feature.
I just got one and it has the option for hotspot but that goes away when I install my Verizon sim. I’m going to try the hack if I can get Verizon to allow me to receive texts.
Quick update…talked to Verizon customer service twice today and still not receiving texts. I’m supposed to be getting a call this evening to try again but so far, no call. I’m not too hopeful this is going to work. May be returning this thing.
A good video but I am looking for a deeper dive into the phone setup. There are a large number of tech options in the settings menu. Things such as VoWiFi. Getting it to work correctly which has been a problem. Nokia's tech documentation is very poor to nonexistent.
Bought two Nokia 2780 phones at Walmart. Bought to use as pocket size phone in warm weather with no jacket (pocket for smart phone) and replace my wife's Consumer Cellular Link flip phone. Both 2780 phones would lose Bluetooth connection to car radio and have to be reconnected. A hassle while driving. Never any problems with several other phones. Returned both to Walmart for full credit. She will continue to use Link and I will use my Link until need a jacket. Won't try another Nokia phone or KaiOs phone.
if you want digital detox light this is the phone to get. you can still use the web for necessities but no doom scrolling buying this is the best thing I did in a long time for my self
I didn't see this really mentioned/talked about in the video, but how customizable is the LOOK of Kai OS? I know you mentioned you can change the wallpaper, but can you change the overall colors of the menu (ie instead of having icons on a black screen, can you switch it to white?) And is the front screen of the Nokia 2780 customizable at all? Are you able to change the text font like you could on old flip phones? Also, you mentioned in your Schok Classic Flip video that that phone can do actual step by step navigation even with the phone closed iirc, like if you need directions while driving. Can the Nokia 2780 also do that or no? Thank you!!
Jose, hi, my time setting on my Nokia 2780 from yesterday to today jumped three hours ahead. I have spent the last few hours (yes!) trying to find a way to reset the time. Other older models that I've found videos on have a way to get to time setting through settings, but I cannot find a way on the 2780. Can you help me? EDIT: Ah, never mind! I got it. A minor miracle. It only took me the better part of three hours. But yay me!
Hello! I just bought the 2780 and so far it’s great besides one issue. Calls are working fine but for some reason it’s not letting me send or receive MMS texts. Do you know why that is or how I can correct it? Thank you
Hi there! Ive been looking for a flip phone that has the basics but that can play music (like youtube music or spotify) without having to keep the flip phone open, do you have any suggestions?
The one I purchased internationally didn't, even though it said it was unlocked. Getting a refund thankfully, and obviously the seller was at fault! I took the risk. But just putting this here as a heads up to anyone else, if you buy this internationally it may not work in your area even if it says unlocked. Hard to get confirmation from any sellers about bands this one is compatible with. @@JoseBriones
It didn't just for future reference and anyone else watching. No criticism of you Jose, but just a heads up if you have one advertised as unlocked it may not work in Australia!
the setting in calendar to toggle specific calendars is not to save to the SD card. Its when you have your calendar synced witht he cloud like google, your various calendars will show here and you can add events to the specific calendar of your choice
Got one the other day. I want to swtch back to a fumb phone from my smart phone. I had done this last year for a couple months with a nokia 225. I wanted something that could do group texts at the least. Maps, basic internet etc were a plus. Having issues with the contacts in messaging. I hate that in your contacts it only shows an initial instead of a name so you have to search the persons name. Laggy/crashes. It has potential, but is as much head ache for me to use and figure out as smartphones are addictive/time sucking. So I tried the 225 again. Yes it is missing the features but it slides into the pocket and is super simple to use and doesnt crash. If I could get a 105 (no camera, cheap and slim) but with only talk, group text, contacts, calculator, alarm and black and white screen in the usa for cheap that would be the ultimate for me. No frills, no extra apps or icons.

What do you mean spamming? Are all the apps showing ads?

uh oh...I bought this for my mom who has dementia...and ads will confuse her, thank you for the headsup
I don't need anything else except WhatsApp but can kaios 3.x running WhatsApp web?
There is an update for the 2720 it does not lag as much now.
Do you use WhatsApp? Kai OS 3 doesn't support WhatsApp
@@boboboy8189 I did, but it was terrible. T9 typing isn't great, and call quality was subpar.

I don't know kai os is pretty light. That's what makes Linux so nice.
I have tried everything. As long as you have a smartphone you will get back to mindless scrolling - eventually.
@@rishabh_80winters
and that’s exactly why I mentioned the parental lock.
Feature phones way more convenient to carry.
finally you review nokia 2780, i was really looking forward to it. I like your video review, very detailed. that's good.
Jose, thank you for this review. Would this phone work on Google Fi?
How many speed dial numbers can you put in this phone?
From 2-9 buttons you can set up speed dial.
@@JoseBriones Thanks my friend!!
KaiOS looks much faster now. Shame there are no KaiOS 3.1 devices in the UK. Also the non-availabity of WhatsApp is a downer.
Hello thank you for the video. Is it better than 2720?
Yes. It is faster and more reliable. It doesn't have WhatsApp though.
A customizable key is always nice, especially when you want to fast call for an emergency.
The battery life is great, it will last for days of use on a single charge. I also appreciate the Internet sharing option that this device supports.
Threaded. No audio with lid closed from the browser. Yes from apps though.
It looks better than many smart phones
The whole point of kaios is it is cheap and limited so don't expect much

Thanks for the review! Is this phone compatible with Crickett? Thank you.

XP3 can be found on Amazon. XP3 Plus from sonim directly.
Does Kai OS track your info ?? It isn't a smart phone but it is kinda smart and Google is involved which makes me skeptical on that issue

I may just have to try it out myself and see what I can do to minimize or get rid of the ads entirely
so glad this version has hotspot! i have the 2760 and i think this line is the perfect flip phone! just wish the 2760 had hotspot.
If you use a hack from github, the 2760 has hotspot. It’s a web browser shortcut for KaiOS

Thanks for review Jose, great channel. Could you please confirm whether:
- contacts are being managed by gmail/google (i.e. can be imported in a few clicks from my current android smartphone, but also exported from my KaiOS device to the google cloud)
- whatsapp can be used with voice messages/memos?
- google voice is available to ask for search, for Maps, for weather...
- I'm in Europe but this seems to be the best Nokia feature phone currently available, so I'm willing to order it from the US: would you agree it's the case? Or do you think Nokia Banana phone, or Nokia 2720 would just be fine? It's unclear what the differences are.

Does this phone come with a SIM card? Thank you for the great tutorial! I just purchased this phone for my seeing impaired brother.
It does not. However, if you remove the back cover, you can install the SIM card from the provider of your choice and use it that way :)
Great video! Really quick question: for group text, I was reading that you can create a group, but you still receive messages individually? Do you know if that is true?
No. Group texts are threaded and they deliver to all people in one single thread :)

No voice to text on this unit sadly.
I just got the 2780.... the only voice to text that it supports is with Google maps.

I have been looking for a candy bar phone that is compatible with Verizon but that doesn’t seem to be an option.
You mentioned that the 2780 works good with Verizon in your area…what specs would indicate if it would work good in my area?
You would have to do some testing. However, if other Verizon dumbphones work in your area you should be good.
Thanks for the reply. I have one coming tomorrow from Amazon. I’ll update if it works.

Some questions,
1) Since they cannot be deleted, does KaiOS allow you to at least hide pre-installed apps?
1) You can move them all the way to the bottom and "hide" them that way
2) See above
3) Yes. It does remember, but it's app specific
4) No longer needed to do the memory manager as 3.0 and 3.1 manage it superbly compared to 2.5. The device is super stable
5) Have not been able to find a way for this.

Email is workable. Not great, but it can relay simple messages. No internet based apps on KaiOS 3.0 yet

I didn't see this really mentioned/talked about in the video, but how customizable is the LOOK of Kai OS? I know you mentioned you can change the wallpaper, but can you change the overall colors of the menu (ie instead of having icons on a black screen, can you switch it to white?) Got one the other day.
Hi! Jose, does this phone have mobile Hotspot so I can tether to my smartphone when needed?
Besides for light phone, does any have mobile Hotspot? Ty!
OK nm I hear it does. Next question is it possible to block all internet on it? And is it 5g?
hi! i recently purchased this but there are missing preinstalled apps that I would like to have, any advice would be great. thanks
Does this phone support Tracfone? Also is the KaiOS Store available for this phone?
The Nokia website says Tracfone support, and all KaiOS phones have access to the KaiOS Store.
I currently have a pixel 6 on the Verizon network. If I buy this phone unlocked, will I be able to swap the sim card without any problems?
You should be able to
how is it different from 2760 flip? and where can i buy it?
You can buy it from nokia.com and it has an SD card and comes unlocked. Those are the only differences.
@@JoseBriones on the Nokia website there is a model 2760. but there is no model 2780. By the way, what is the difference between them? because 60 dollars is a significant difference.
The Alcatel Go Flip 3 that ran Kai OS 2.5.2. I noticed you demonstrated T9 predictive in the message app. Kai OS 2.5.2 has Google Assistant and speech-to-text on several apps including messages. Does Kai OS 3.0 still have speech-to-text?
No. KaiOS lacks speech to text.
Thanks. The loss of speech to text and Google Assistant are a few of the reasons we have kept the Go Flip 3.

Thanks for the review 😍👍🏼
Will this phone eventually slow down, and will the company stop sending updates?
Yes and yes
sir @JoseBriones , its just looks like Nokia 2660 !!! what are the differences between these 2 ??
is it same phone, but named 2780 in USA ?? Please clarify !!
The Nokia 2660 doesn’t have apps or functions like the 2780. They look the same but the Operating System is completely different. The 2780 is way smarter than the 2660.
@@JoseBriones Thanks for the clarification
Compatible with boost mobile? (Under Sprint network)
Hooray for group messages without adding the subject each time!!!
Does the maps give voice instructions or just visuals?
Just a step by step list.
When listening to music and podcasts, how is the sound quality?
It's fine. I'd say 7.5/10
@@JoseBriones Great! thanks, it was hard to find info about that
How do you get all the stuff from your old phone to this phone?
How does it compare to the 2720 flip?
Way faster
Another Good Video ! .
