[TUT] Seagate Expansion Desktop 5TB öffnen [Deutsch][2015]

In diesem Video wird die Expansion Desktop 5TB zerlegt, um an die Festplatte zu kommen. Somit kann man die Festplatte z.B. im PC einbauen.
Achtung: Garantie geht bei dem Vorgang verloren!!!
Kleines Update: nach 7 Jahren sind nun 2 von 4 HDDs defekt. Eine mit 12xx kaputten Sektoren, die andere mit 4xxx. Teste ich diese im originalen externen Gehäuse, treten die Fehler nicht auf. Also Vorabtest im externen Gehäuse ggf. falsch.

Herzlichen Dank für diese Anleitung. Alles perfekt geklappt. Konnte hierdurch meine Daten über SATA-Umbau selbst retten, da Netzanschluss-Platine defekt war.👍

Dankeschön! Das Video bestätigte meinen Verdacht bezüglich der Öffnung. Statt des Skalpells kam die feine Klinge eines Victorinox Taschenmessers zum Einsatz und statt diese blauen Öffners wählte ich ein Messer mit feststehender Klinge. Das ist gefährlicher, funktionierte aber prima. Nun habe ich 2 HDs zum Sparpreis (:

Danke für das Video. Meine 4TB-Version zeigte kein Lebenszeichen mehr und ich vermutete zu Recht den USB-Adapter als Schuldigen. In einer SATA Tray kann ich das Laufwerk wieder problemlos weiter nutzen.

Konnte jemand erkennen ob es eine PMR oder SMR Festplatte ist? Leider hält er sie nicht einmal richtig in die Kamera...

Protip: Don't use a Razor for the seam, instead, place a flat head screw driver between a rubber foot pad and the edge, there is a small lip you can push on to open it, use something softer than metal if you want to save the case.

i'm not sure if reviewer says this but before you open up the case make sure it works 100% with real surface test. it will take some time but worth it. also i found out if you have sligtly more patience you can pry it open by a creditcard from one side then slowly go around with a second creditcard. you will hear suttle noises while doing it. then finally when one of the creditcards is placed on the corner of the long side where the serial number is. now just bend creditcard slightly at the very end of the drive. it pops and you slide card further and bend it again. repeat for all 4 sides. this leaves no marks on unit at all. so if you we're to return it for warranty reasons you'd get a full replacement.
