  • This is (or most probably is) Phalaenopsis Sogo Yukidian (Phal. Yukimai x Phal. Taisuco Kochdian). It produces many cascading white flowers that are the biggest orchid flowers I've ever seen. Enjoy!

    Love love love!! I have a Phal like this and it is soooo stubborn. I should name him Stubborn. Anyways, he has finally decided to do something this year and I think I see a spike on him! Danni, your Phals are all so perfect.

    I have one of these and it grew a spike and is flowering midsummer. Is that normal? The flowers are huge and healthy.

    I recently got one of these for $5 because it has root rot. I'm hoping I can save it!

    Unfortunately I ordered 2 sogo yukidien fortunately they both arrived with spike and buds I have a fortune in a unfortunate situation. 2 flowerspikes of sogoyukidien paid for blooming size received with flower spike.

    Hi what is the difference between phal ambalis and sogo yukidian

      Am I right to think sogo yukodian has very large Flowers as you kindly describe all the details of this orchid and Ambalis is a smaller version?
      Maybe I have both, one I’ve cared for 8yrs now w/ very large flowers - 10 blooms on each spike, it has 2 equaling to 20 magnificent flower show. This sounds like Sogo Y. I also have another orchid 4yrs old very similar flowers exactly the same colour but with smaller normal size blooms. Could this be the Ambalis?

    I have this plant. This is really huge phalaenopsis. This is my favorite orchid instead of Phalaenopsis amabilis.

    Mine was in bloom February to September. Now it is December and the spike is growing again. It is very top heavy - needs a clay or ceramic pot. Most beautiful.

    MissOrchidGirl Where did you get this Orchid?

    I think you might have identified my NOID! It has 17 flowers on a single, branched spike and they're about 11cm at their widest part. Does that sound similar to yours? I couldn't quite make out from your video, but are the appendages on the end of the lip very long, double back on themselves, and yellow toward the ends?

    I have one of these orchids, the tag says P. Sogo Yukidian. It lasted several months with a long spike of blooms but they have now dropped off (all of them). What do I do now. I can't find any advice!

      Hi, don't worry everything is normal :) flowers have a limited life but the orchid will continue to grow with good care. I have a video about what do we do after blooms drop. It is about multiple orchids, but also about Phalaenopsis, hope this helps ua-cam.com/video/624qpAtaLyI/v-deo.html

    How long does the P. Yukidian remain dormant between blooms? I have one and I am anticipating it's next bloom.

    • @MissOrchidGirl
      @MissOrchidGirl  6 років тому

      +Josie Stanley Hi, Phalaenopsis orchids never go dormant :) the bloom season is typically winter to spring, the rest of the year the orchids grow vegetatively, meaning leaves and roots. Spikes are initiated in autumn, when temperatures drop slightly.
