So this movie is where Jon Peter's spider hyperfixation came from given that he wanted to do Superman Lives as mentioned and the design of Brainiac who was going to be played by Christopher Walken was going to be spider-like.
Also this is the first movie I was introduced to Kenneth Branagh and he and Kevin Kline would reunite to do the two lead voice in The Road to Eldorado.
I'm not going to lie I've always had a soft spot for this movie ever since I first saw it as kid. I know its not technically a good movie or anywhere near as good as ID or MIB, but I always thought it was a pretty fun popcorn movie.
@ramboraph4life: Yes, Elmer Berstein did compose music for a number of Western movies from years past including The Magnificent Seven (1960). He is one of my favorite film composters of all time since he not only scored Ghostbusters (1984) but I also enjoyed his work on other major comedies and The Great Escape (1963) among others.
Richard Donner came close to directing this movie in 1992, with Mel Gibson as James West. I would have liked to have seen that version. They did do a good job with _Maverick_ in 1994, with its nice balance of comedy and action, and no tiresome homoerotic jokes. Barry Sonnenfeld's film is alright in some places, but no less a mess Will Smith ended up apologizing to Robert Conrad for making. As weird and disjointed as everything was, I'm surprised Jon Peters didn't just go all out and include that polar bear fight he wanted so much in _Superman Lives._ Imagine if that had come walking out to take on James West, all enhanced with steamborg parts. In fact, they could have swapped the bad joke filler out for this and I would probably have liked _Wild Wild West_ a lot more. Schlocky bad is a lot better than just plain bad.
8:28 Wow this film had a whole bunch of writer's part of me isn't surprise. 9:36 Well that sword of got touch on a bit on "The Death of Superman Lives" documentary how Warner bros during this time was in ton's of troubles they kept throwing too much money into budgets for film's that was bombing big time like this film also"187","Mad World","The Avengers"(With Sean Connery)"Sphere" &"Mars Attacks","Batman&Robin" too hench why "Superman Lives" never got made. 12:57 Agreed I'm so happy Chris Rock ripped him&his bold headed wife new ones in that recent Netflix stand up special like I could give a hell that both her&Will Simp are pissed off about what Chris was saying about them oh well too bad I don't feel one bit of sorry for them at all. 17:06 Yeah she sure does have a beautiful Ass😍😍😘 I never ever hated this film as a fun harmless time waster I do remember at one point putting this film above "Men In Black" but that's just me I haven't seen it in year's I will say nowadays I put"Cowboys&Aliens" above this film if I want to watch a western with Sci Fl added to it plus that film has a very serious tone to it IMHO. Awesome job on the review bro.
The only reason they will not get a divorce is because jada is worth 50 million and Will Smith is worth 350 million. If they got a divorce it would be one of the biggest to force scandals in because jayda because they've been married for so long she would want alimony and spousal support and try to get every penny out of him to the point where he would have to be forced to dvd or even straight to Redbox. But because he has to prove himself to his wife defend me because he made fun of me waaaaaaa he already is forced to that
I Love Wild Wild West, love the action, story, & humor very Underrated, Will Smith, & Kenneth Branagh were Great in it, it's one of those movies I love that everyone else hates, one a my Favorite Will Smith Films
I saw this film in America first time I went there, it came out around the same time as Star Wars The Phantom Menace and Tarzan. I think as I got older I think it’s flawed ,first film I saw Kevin Kline in and like with MIB I remember the song in Wild Wild West being popular at the time. In my recent viewing few years ago never realised Kevin Kline played another role in film being the president.
I've always wanted to hear what you thought of this film good review. I don't mind this film but it's not amazing I grew up watching this and van helsing both hated films I'd say I like van helsing a little bit more than this one.
3:18 strongly disagree with that I could never get into this one. Very lame, unfunny and at times pretty cringe that I can 100% understand why it got demolished by the critics back in the day. It may not be the worst movie ever but its still a bad movie.
I disagree Will Smith’s Bad Films IMO are Legend Of Bagger Vance, After Earth, 7 Pounds, Concussion, Collateral Beauty, Hitch, Jersey Girl, Anchorman 2, & Focus, I Love Wild Wild West it’s pretty Underrated & one a my favorite Will Smith Films
My daughter & I enjoyed Wild Wild west! God bless you Mathew! 😊

Spider-Walken with Tim Burton. It's a shame this movie never got made.
Also this is the first movie I was introduced to Kenneth Branagh and he and Kevin Kline would reunite to do the two lead voice in The Road to Eldorado.
Jeffrey Price and Peter Seaman also did Who Framed Roger Rabbit and How the Grinch Stole Christmas as well.

I thought Wild, Wild, West was good. One of the most underrated films of all-time. I give it an 8/10.
I want to watch this flick again to see how I feel about it after all these years been so long since I saw it.
'Django Unchained' is the good version of this movie.
💯 facts, couldn’t said it any better
i'm one of those people that kind of enjoyed this film. I watched this film several times whereas I didn't even finish "cowboys and aliens."
Warner Brothers heavily promoted this film over The Iron Giant, believe it or not.

Maverick is way better than this

I agree. Bret noticed James and Artemus were bluffing and won the pot.
Man what a disappointment. I remember be so hyped for this movie because of the soundtrack only to be complete letdown, a complete misfire.

I agree Matt My only problem was Selma Hayek’s character was pretty annoying & you have token her out of the movie
Wow I used to watch this all the time back then but not anymore and it has nothing to do with the bitch slap from Will Simp.
True. This movie ages like soda.
@@Elfrunner Especially after it's been shaken.

Heard one producers has weird spiders fetishes that's why he put in the film also put spiders in other films he's produced weird
3:18 strongly disagree with that

Bad boys 4 is coming soon
one of my faves matt! i saw wild wild west opening day and it was a fun movie!i bought the james west suglasses at burger king right after lol
I never cared for this movie. I thought the action fell flat and Will Smith wasn't really that good in this film
This movie always kinda sucks the first man in black movie is way better than this
I still got both of man in Black and wild Wild West on vhs 📼 in the closet somewhere
Pretty stupid movie IMHO, love the song though!
This movie 🍿 was Will smith’s worst flick 😅😅
After Earth is worse.
Robert Conrad had a bomb blown up in his face in _Jingle All the Way._ It was a vacation compared to the bomb of the _Wild Wild West._
