As different locks have different locking mechanisms, the magnet trick only works on locks with a SPRING SHACKLE CATCH, as it used a spring and metal piece to create the lock. Using the magnets creates enough kinetic energy to compress the spring causing the lock to open.
what kind of lock has exactly the right amount of disks to allow it to open(can't remember name of them). Almost if not all locks have too many to prevent people just pushing past the maximum required to open it

Nope, locks nowadays have a system inside that prevents the moving parts to move when its locked, because if not, it will be open also with a fall or hard hit.
