Also for any other costume, like the first time I was in Wizard of Oz, to make a big top hat for an Ozian, we used one of the big clear ice cream containers. Creativity!

It's been a lot of years since I created a mask with my adoptive grandfather.
I used to be a lover of this game when I was really really small.
I had this neighbor that I used to consider as my biological grandfather since my real grandpa lives in another country.
I showed this video to my neighbor and we built this mask together.
It was beautiful.
But several months later my neighbor died from cancer and I couldn't see him anymore.
Some days later his death, my parents threw away my mask because I did a small wrong action but i still was small.
I remember searching this mask EVERYWHERE.
Now I found it in a plastic bag in my attic and I started to cry because of memories.
Thank you a lot for creating this tutorial because you gave me a lot of memories from searching the sponges for the mask to the plastic box for the hat.

There is really no limit to what you can do. I've been a fursuit/mascot performer for 10 years, and masks can be made of all sorts of things, but this is a really nice basic start to creating something amazing.

If it fits over your head, that's a good place to start. You might get some strange looks trying on flower pots at the hardware store, though. lol

The hard part was putting on the felt
I really like this! It’s really an easy and fun way, there are obviously other ways to make the head from what I know as a maker, I’d use a buckram material for the eyes so it’s easier to see, and instead of a flower pot you can make a bucket head using foam, and if you want a moving jaw you can use a balaclava and use foam and elastic to create that effect! And if you wanted to make it a little nicer instead of glueing down the fabric sew the fabric together by making patterns of the head using masking tape! Glueing works too though, and I’d probably use a different material than felt, maybe minky or fleece since that seems a lot more comfortable, but obviously this way is a lot cheaper! Would be cool for parties or cosplay!

sorry to bother you like 3 years later lol, but do you have any idea how i could make caine's (from the amazing digital circus) "head"/mouth in a way that it can fit arround my head? it's my first time doing something like this and i genuinely have no idea where to start 😭😭 (and i need to finish it until like,, march 17th)
@@sofiaatomo5175 id maybe use a balaclava for the base and work around it using maybe like a hard EVA Foam? and modeling clay for details then making a pattern for the fabric youd put over it

This video helped me make my lefty head years ago long before lockdown, i later made a funtime foxy head i later started turning into a giant sleeve puppet.
If you want to see out of the mask, take some white Perforated Vinyl and but some clear plastic on the black sticky side, then take some markers and very carefully draw the eye pattern. Make sure you don’t get any on the lascivious and can still see out of it

Js do the same thing but make the upper Jaw/snout more narrow and make the cheeks also less narrow, and make the ears coming from the top instead of the sides
