For the same money you can get a s class which is better than this. And for less you can get an e63s (as Sedan or station wagon) or a m5. Both are much more fun to drive
I would love to buy the Land Cruiser for the fact that it's an awesome and reliable vehicle. I despise the exterior, though. It needs a complete redesign. To me it looks like a mom car.

Customers wanted to Mercedes to keep the classic door locks. That includes the old school door handles which do not have the internal space for capacitive touch sensors for the car to detect you want to open the door. The actual proximity sensors aren't the problem.

The reason it has no proximity sensors is because the people that want to buy this car prefer the mechanical sound of the old door locks. The proximity locks are electronic and won't give you that sound. If one minute of research was done, you would see that's what Mercedes said.
