wow, I usually have a lot to say to correct mistakes in such videos about Poland, but this one was really good. I can only say it was very fast paced and didn't do justice in most of the parts. There can be books written on each of this subjects and probably there are books on most of them. Poland is rich in history, culture, nature, archievements. We have and had everything and we are a big country, despite some people trying to mislead us into thinking we are a small poor country. We need to remember and celebrate our traditions, our ancestors, our heroes in order to save our identity as a nation. I LOVE POLAND! POLSKA GUROM! ;)

Imieniny, in English Name Day is basically a day, when you celebrate the patron or saint with that name. All Polish calendars are printed with 2 or 3 different names each day, so every day someone has a name day. For example, the day you uploaded - Nov 1st - the name day was celebrated by people with those names: Andrzej · Jędrzej · Konradyn · Konradyna · Nikola · Seweryn · Warcisław · Wiktoryna. Some names are celebrated only once a year, some are more frequent, but each person has name day only once a year. It's basically like birthday only for your name.

Neal, the name day is a tradition in many countries of Europe, mainly countries with deep Christian roots. It consists of celebrating a day of the year that is associated with your baptismal name.
The custom originated with the Christian calendar of saints: believers named after a saint would celebrate that saint's feast day.
If that saint's feast happens to occur several times a year, it is customary (or at least I think it is) that your name day is celebrated on 'your' saint's feast that is closest to your birthday.
That is not the norm though - for example my name, Rafał (Raphael) is celebrated on January 24th, June 20th, September 29th, October 24th and November 20th. I was born on June 6th, so I should be celebrating my name day on June 20th, but I chose to celebrate it on October 24th.
Why? I don't know. At some point during my childhood I just felt like it.

When the video mentioned Polish outfits, they should've shown the folk festival in Kazimierz Dolny, it's the biggest event like that in Poland (although the current organisers don't know how to manage it properly)

Name day is like a birthday. Just a little....weaker?? I don't know how to put it. You have two days a year to celebrate. BIRTHDAY in the first place and name day in the second place. It's something very similar. Thank you, Brother, for your attention and for your interest in our Humble State. KIND REGARDS!!!! "Because we didn't beg for freedom. We fought for it!!!" 🦾🦾🦾
