My mate was 20 years old when he got scouted. He played Sunday League football all his life and nothing else. Suddenly got really good (matured) and bang, he was scouted like that. if you're good enough you're good enough. Never listen to any negativity towards you.

+RayD 076 It is never too late, that I can promise you. You are only 16 years of age, I know professional players who started their football career at the age of 23 and above. Most of them go to University at 18 years and spend more than 4 years there but eventually go pro. Just work hard at all times

I will disagree by saying that although you have a good point, I'm sure the players that are in the top leagues are all players that are truly talented even with minimum coaching. Although the reason why you might think like that is because when you watch top level football it's already the best of the best that's why some people think that anyone can make it.

Thank you for this vid copa90 because a had a fall out with my assistant manager at my previous club and haven't started football again since 10 (im 12)and because of this video I will try my hardest to get scouted but first I will find a club. Thanks again.
Edit: 18 now and still without a team. Hard to get back into football when you have african parents that prioritise education. In most cases it’s too late, but giving up is lame.

Run your way to school and run back :) or cycle if too far, I used to do that and my pace gets better, I got leased out in september 2014 after the club I played for went bankrupt almost ( they still exist but can't afford any good players/ can't afford to keep a youth team) I'm 16 but I already found 2 clubs who want me for next season :) ( Ilive in Belgium) Just go out with friends, make your friends invite more friends until you are 11v11 and go on a stadium and play, eventually people will passy by and who knows, might be a scout ;)

Speed isn’t everything but to make it pro you need to be fast! Not too many professionals are slow. They look slow compared to each other. Obviously you need to be intelligent and very technical. But a baseline is speed and quickness compared to your counterparts on that level when not a pro.

Mexicofan360 you don’t go to a school in Cali then, if you don’t already play for a club, they don’t even look at you. they don’t look for the simple guys who have the basics down pat, they see a guy do the fancy shit off the field that they’d never do in a game and pick them. i know because i’ve tried out multiple times, played insanely well, even against the older students, and i still wouldn’t make it, i scores two beautiful goals right in front of the coach one time and he didn’t give half a shit

xXSulliesXx this is why you would never be scouted if you wanted to be(i'm not saying you do) right there they have listed all the qualities they are looking for in a player. you take them and add them into your game. then hopefully you'll be on the right track, now you'll need to perform, give 110% to get noticed so a scout will come and watch you and hope your what they are looking for.

    To become a footballer;
    - Play for a good sunday league team
    - Do your research
    - Join training programmes
    - Learn from what the pro coaches tell you, then use it in a game.
    - In a game always be one to standout : be loud, talkative and show off some skills.
    - Put in hard work.

I'm tired of hearing all these people from the U.S saying they would've had a better chance in another country. That's bullshit. You have a better chance when you work hard for what you want and have dedication and actually put time in if. Some people just practice every other day or only when their team has practice. I live in the states, I live in Dallas. I wake up at 5am practice for 2 hours go to school then when I get home I practice till it's dark. You can't say you have no chance when you don try. At this moment I'm currently getting looked by Palermo and Napoli because of the hard work and dedication I put in this sport. Also when you want to become pro you got to start living and acting like a pro giving yourself discipline. You never give up especially if this sport is your life.

I am training really hard and doing everything I can do to get scouted but in Canada (Quebec especially) it is difficult to get scouted because football isn’t our cultural sport. Anyways, thanks for this vid that made me realize that if you have the talent and the will, your dreams aren’t that far away.

Never give up your dream and work hard to it everyday. I had two professional footballers in my family, i was a very good prospect when i was young my main attribute been intelligence and been able to read the game. Unfortunately for me i tore my quad when i was fifteen and have suffered with relapses ever since. Im now 26 and play for a high level amateur club in Germany. Keep your brain sharp, constantly work off the ball, learn to read and to understand the game and practice practice and practice. I gave up football when i was younger for a few years and it was the worst decision i ever made, never give up guys.

I play for my county and a provisional academy. It’s hard but now these days you need to get on the ball.
I remember when i went on trials for my county, i was making very good runs and was just passing and moving and it was changing the game. Then i realised i hadn’t been asked, so i showed myself on the ball a couple of times just quick little moves, one twos (im in left back btw) and it got me scouted snd where i am now.
    Work hard

Started playing in a club with 17 in the last youth team. And now I'm 22 and I play in the 10th german league... My dreams have become a bit more modestly. I hope I can make it to a better club to play in the 9th, 8th or even 7th league. :)

I was scouted at a small county tournament for my local team aged 10 by Bristol City FC (coincidentally, my fav club before this) and now I'm 12 I've been here for 2 years and am playing every week.
My tip is to follow your coach's system and tactics, stick to your position and, honestly, just play your best, work hard and always believe in yourself. One more thing is if you believe your players aren't committed enough, or your manager isn't working hard enough, you have the right to speak out about it. I did and my local club got a new coach who helped to win the league and adapt a new deep-lying play system, as well as high-pressing.

This is why the MLS is never going to be a good league, because they draft insgead of having a Youth System in their teams, and then all of the American fans think their one of the best teams in the World when they sighn a former Legend over the age of 30, such as Henry, Beckham, Di Vaio etc, they all think Clint Dempsey is world class, maybe in the MLS but in the BPL he'd just be average, like when he played for Fulham and Tottenham.

I'm thirteen, I've played for Brentford (an English team one league lower than the premier league) and I play for my borough team run by QPR (in the same division as Brentford). Coming from me i would say:
1.) Always keep trying and train every day if you are truly dedicated to becoming a pro.
2.) Put yourself in scouting opportunities; I was scouted by Brentford at a tournament run by them. I left when their academy closed down but it was a great experience.
3.) Enjoy yourself. Loosen up and try to enjoy every win, draw and loss. It will both make you a better person on and off the pitch and it will increase your success rate whilst playing football. Do this especially if you get scouted.
I hope this helped you guys and best wishes for the future.

I played with several players who could of made it professionally, but were never given the chance. They're are several players 18 above that will never be given a chance cause they'd rather take kids on at 5.

Tips from a a former scouted rugby player at top premiership academy.
Rugby and football are very different but some things remain constant over team sports.
    1. Genetics - look at your mum and dads height and body type. You will most likely be similar. Assess this against your position eg you are 12 and play goalkeeper, your mum and dad are no taller than 5'8 the keepers in premier league must be around 6'3'-6'6 with exceptions either smaller or taller. This will put you at a disadvantage down the road as teams in my experience when presented with two similar candidates will always take the one with better physical attributes. Summary - work with what you got and tailor your game in advance.

I really love watching soccer/football here in Australia, I am 12 years old and know a lot about the game such as it's history and the rules. I have never player football for a club, but I like playing it with my friends and family and I don't consider myself good or even average, in my opinion I am a very bad player. Do you think though that it is too late to be developed, not into a professional player or an amazing player,or even a good player but an average payer that can compete with other 12-14 year old kids over the next couple of years. I currently play basketball, but I really want to play football as well. I don't want to be a professional player for either basketball or football but I want to play the games that I enjoy. What do you think? Should I start football now, or should I give up hope?

I'm 18 and I've always had a burning passion for football, I played for my primary school and high school football team but I wanted to step it up a notch and try going to academies to see if I was able to start making my way to the top of football. The thing is I don't know what to look for in an academy, I don't know the most suitable one for me and I've been trying to find one for so long. I feel like football is the path I want to take I just can't find it. I don't know whether I should stop chasing my dream or not because I can't find a good academy near my area as I don't come from a wealthy family or anything so money can be tight at times. Guys, I also had a dream of playing for barca but I also had to focus on my studies. I'm 13 years old and I have deadly left foot.i once got to play for my school pascoe vale primary against pascoe vale north, we smashed them 5-1 and I scored 4 and assisted...now I have broken my hand playing football. Even in an empty ground I still practice alone...so never give up and believe in your self

It sucks when you have talent but you live in a country that lives off of Football honestly if I was brought up in England I have no doubt I could've been on a good team. America has no soccer scouts I have a better chance of being the next best Football player then being scouted for Queens Park Rangers but it's too late sadly.

I'm turning 21 on may I live in Miami, Florida. Age and territory are not really excuse to not making in football there are people who have make it at 25. You have to give your all to make it. There are some teams in the MLS included that give tryout

I'm a Goal Keeper and have been for 15 years now, and when I was 12 I got scouted for Melbourne Victory, and played for their youth until I suffered a two year long injury, where my contract expired and didn't get another opportunity, then at the age of 15 I played for the reserves in NPL (2nd highest league), then at 17 I played Seniors in State 1 (3rd hughest league) , until I got another season long injury, and at 20 I was playing State 1 seniors, until I got injured for 3 months, now I play reserves in State 4 since I just got off injury 3 weeks ago, This shows, pro football can be a fingertip away, you can be nicknamed as the next Oliver Kahn, but it can all be taken away from you in one injury, so if you get injured, take your time to recover.
Next year, I will make it back to NPL as a Senior player!!
