Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Kouros is a devastating masterpiece. I shook the nostrils of my elementary school classmates, dousing myself in it prior to the opening bell circa 82.
My friend and I tried fragrances in the shop, he put Kouros on his hand, and after one hour he parked the car to rinse his hand with water and hand sanitizer to eliminate the smell 😂
Kouros is an absolute masterpiece and I’ve never smelled anything even remotely similar. “Dirty” is an ok word to describe it but I wouldn’t mean it in the same way the word dirty means. Almost more like dangerous or intense, like it is not a “safe” or passive feeling fragrance. The worst fair thing you could say about it is that it’s top notes do smell similar to urinal cakes, and it was because of that I was afraid to actually apply it for a while after I got a sample. Definitely became my GOAT after wearing it for a few days though, and I definitely recommend trying it.

The opening of Kalan is as harsh with pepper as Mancera Red Tobacco is with tobacco. It’s like a palm strike to the nose. As good as it could be when it dries down, the opening turns me off to the rest of it.
Office for men is a brillant synthetic fragrance. Its long lasting, bold enough to an office and its premuim ingredients (no discussion about it). And hey its made by Alberto Morillas, this man have high standarts. Its competitive with la nuit de l'homme YSL and dior sauvage. But needed indeed to be lowered in price like 140 $ .
Very nice video Omar. In my opinion YSL Kouros is really well blended and this is a beautiful piece of classic oriental French perfumery. I am drawn to this style, so I value this very much, ignoring the fact that I'm surprisingly 20 years old young guy. K EDT by Dolce and Gabbana is a linear nice ambroxan fruity scent as well, nothing more nothing less, just clean sweet and really nice perfume done really well together with fruit molecules, it's slightly powdery to my nose, just fine. I am waiting with patience for your formulation Bro, Cheers!
That rating on Office for Men is criminal. Say what you want about Jeremy but it was a great blue style fragrance by Alberto Morillas imo. I don't agree with the asking price unless discounted.
Kouros is a straight 10/10, not only do I own like 4 bottles of it but I hopefully will always wear it, I love it so much and the modern formula still blows away a good bunch of todays fragrances. I even get compliments for it regularly and I don’t even care if I please people or not, I think it’s just when you pull it off with enough confidence you can wear it and people will like it
Kouros is a masterpiece fragrance. That being said, it needs the right nose to appreciate it, which is a problem these days, because there will be many people who will smell it and be put off by its complexity.
I like Kouros. I have the Current Formulation. it's like Green and it's got some smokiness and it's clean. I like that it kind of reminds me of a time when Fragrances weren't all about Sweetness. I really wanted to try Fragrance One but I never did. I liked the Minimalist look of the Bottles and the Naming Conventions Jeremy used but to me it was far too expensive.
Kouros rules....... I bought Phantom just for the bottle. I don't like the smell but why hate it? King is not great but also not bad. I got it as a gift. I don't wear it often. I would rather expect PP No Limits in such a list. But I love PP NL.......
Please review Etat Libre d'Orange's Secretions Magnifiques in a video like this. Its Fragrantica score is lower than everything you reviewed here, too.
The original Kouros was the greatest scent ever made - and lasted for years, literally years - my clothes smelled of it forever. It's the only fragrance I ever had that made 3 women come up to me in the street and outright ask me for sex. Hard to get a good bottle now.
Office is actually my most complimented fragrance after ADG Profumo and Sauvage (I have alot of fragrances) They tell me that I smell really nice. I live in the eastern side of the Netherlands near Germany and I do know that in this area and most of Germany Girls like fresh and clean fragrances, the further I go south in Europe > France sweet and flowery (Ambre Nuit), Spain more sweet and cinnamon. (one million, Halloween etc) It's all about the region/area you are and the ethnicity you are trying to approach, different cultures different preferences ;)
My quick thoughts. Some older 80s style scents hold up and smell good in their retro way, and some like Kouros are GROSS. Office for Men is a killer. Long lasting, performs, smells great, simple but nice. Like u said, price held it back from being a superstar. Kalan my first couple wearings I said ewww this is gross. Now I love it. Absolutely love it. Minuit Demi is what u said. Very pleasant but weak and not worth price tag Phantom is gross. This was two sprays off a sample and in the garbage. K EDT, I like. Solid little mainstream frag. Unique in its own way while being mass appealing.
I used to use kouros back in the 80s.. Bought one at the dutyfree on some vacation back when i was 15 y old in 88 😀 Had a teacher used to mock me because of it.. Remember he called it Greek barn smell... But I loved it 😊 It totally won over My pierre Cardin for Men.. The brown deo spray 🙄
I agree with what you said about the internet sales being the future. A lot of what I would describe as "new luxury brands" started with passionate people who could not find exactly what they wanted and decided to make it themselves. Some brands I love are Thursday Boots, NAB leather (belts) and Carl Friedrik (wallets).
Hello my friend,I was sampling for a long time Mancera fragrances and I couldn't decide which one I should buy...after your long review with Mancera fragrances I blind bought Aoud Exclusif and I am glad that I did!!!Such a Beast beautiful fragrance, thanks mate!!!
@@DuSeun In my opinion everyone can wear this fragrance,it's very well blended and the rose is not feminine at all...the dry down is magical..it's very very strong one of the strongest that I tried from Mancera and the projection is beastly too...I hope I helped you!!!
Might be a hot take and it’s not a hill I would die on, but I can see how people would be skeptical about UA-camr fragrances. If you are passionate about your niche, why wouldn’t you go study it at a high level and go work in the field? I’m not sure passion is the added value from professional perfumers to UA-camrs. Then there’s the concern that a UA-camr might simply want to gain a quick buck off their audience, especially if they have a large following, with minimal effort. This happens a lot with books or merch as well. The aspect I’d be most concerned about is legal & safety compliance, given you’re working with lots of chemicals which requires specific knowledge. Not saying any of those arguments apply to you though. I love your videos and would definitely try your fragrance given the chance!
I also bought a sample of Kalan and absolutely hate it. I bought samples of Layton, Carlisle and Herod and I'm currently buying full sized bottles of each. I can't get rid of the Kalan quick enough.
Great video mate! Although I must say that Kalan is horrible indeed, own some PDM's myself and they're masterpieces but I honestly can't imagine why anyone would like to smell like Kalan
Hi. You're videos are very good and honest . What do you think should i get Dior Homme Parfum 100ml for 139e or Dior Homme Intense 150ml for 101e now on discount ? Thank you 💪🍾 stay safe
Someone introduced Kouros in 1998 to me, and still my signature scent for me since. Especially if Im going clubbing or will be sweaty later or if I want to smell fresh & powdery since it lasts forever, strong projection, smoke / sweat proof. However for my everyday office Im wearing Ck Be / Everyone and for relaxing hangout with friends Im wearing Kenzo
The Office it's amazing fragrance I absolutely love the smell. It makes other top brands look average. It's definitely my no 1. I was very impressed when I first put my nose onit. I'm surprised lot of people don't like it. Yes I agree the price a little high.
I always thought Kouros smells more like incense and soap, it reminds me of a record/smoke shop, doesn’t really make me think of pee or feces (or semen) like most people keep complaining about it, I actually enjoy the scent a lot, or maybe that’s just me.
I think people's problem with "King" wasn't the scent itself The fact that they took a bubblegum fragrance and marketed it like it was a luxurious fragrance you'd expect from an Italian millionaire was preposterous
I don't have a issue with youtuber fragrances. I do have a issue with youtubers coming out with a fragrance and thinking that their name has enough cache etc they can charge more than top designer prices 😆 The only one I could possibly see spending more money on is Demis but only because her collab was made by a luxury niche brand so it's a combination of her tastes and name and their swagger. But some say it's weak so maybe not even it. Mr Smelly's I would buy it's not done through that Co navitus and his is ok on price.
Why though? Why do you think just because they are UA-camrs they can't charge what they think their creation is worthy of? Its just wrong this myopic way of thinking.
@@mz_bi that's the way markets work. They can charge whatever they want. Doesn't mean people will purchase it. You have to have one of 3 things or combination to charge higher than market average for a product. 1 Quality or ingredients that surpasses the market average. That they don't. 2 A uniqueness of a product that no other product has in that space. That they don't. 3 A name that is associated with a certain level of luxury in that space. That they also don't have. To use a market example Lexus cars has #1, Tesla has #2, Mercedes has #3. Kia has none of the needed attributes so it sells for average. If next year Motor Trend magazine decided we are great car enthusiasts with lots of subscribers we are going to make a Motor Trend car. They collaborate with Kia or hire a Kia Engineer and build a nice car that is average. As good as a Nissan Toyota Ford etc. Then say we believe because we are Motortrend we are going to price this car equal to or higher than a Lexus,Benz, or Tesla. We think it's worth it. Their business would not last long and would not sell many because they don't have any of the three requirements to demand a higher price. Their name while synonymous with automobile enthusiasts does not equate to Luxury Automobile. The only way to buck that is to work with a Luxury Company playing off of their clout and create their Motortrend car. So like a MotorTrend Bentley. Which is kind of what Demi did working with an established Luxury Brand.
I don't know why a youtuber can't sell a fragance and a designer can. Designers aren't perfumers, most of the time they just put their name in perfumes made by professional perfumers and manufactured by other companies. Not to mention that designer brands are just names put into companies, sometimes by people dead a long time agó, like Chanel, Versace, Moschino etc. Then why a youtuber or influencer can't do the same. On the other hand, they can be critiziced if their product is overpriced, or bad quality, although the hate people making stuff in internet receive is usually way too much. I like Jeremy Fragance but I'd never spend 200 € in a perfume bottle, any brand.
I don't understand how anyone can say phantom is a mass appealing fragrance. To me it smells almost rancid. like someone made a cocktail drink and left it in a hot car for a month. Fucking awful.
I think office for men is obviously hated because of Jeremy, I don't think it's worth it but people should be more respectful solely for the perfumers sake
I always love checking out hated fragrances, because every now and then you’ll find something that is perfect for your skin and nobody else is wearing it.
I bought D&G K edp because I found a busted bottle of it when I was working I picked it up and smelt it and it smelt amazing and then I went and bought a bottle and I can’t stand it the juniper in the opening makes me wanna smash the bottle maybe that’s why I found it that way 😂
I don't see a compelling reason to hate Office for Man .. Because there are many nishe perfumes whose fragrances do not fit their price at all, unlike the Office For Man perfume that you can get at a discount ranging between 66-80 euros .. For me it is a wonderful perfume :. Thank you for this review 🌺
I think if a youtuber puts out a good fragrance it would be ok, but I think after what Jeremy did with his it will be an uphill battle for them, but if you put out one that is good with some longevity people wouldn't have a problem with it. also I think it needs to be in a big box so we can smell it not just sold online and have to take other youtubers response to it.
UA-camrs that make their own fragrances actually don't understand the difference between reviewing a fragrance and creating a fragrance. You see them with no education in this area but still they pretend to be experts. The same way students go on Wikipedia and do copy paste, the same way a lot of reviewers go to fragrantica. It's a big difference between creating a masterpiece and "this is what I like and I want"
Yes. That's why they should review, not pretend to create "one of the best fragrances" Simply taking a little bit of sauvage, a little bit of aventus, a little of this is more shameful than cheap clones
Anyone has the ”right” to release a fragrance…or sing, paint or whatever they want to express themselves. Those who don’t like the result don’t have to buy it.
As a woman, I can tell you that it does and that there are definitely manlier and sexier scents out there. However, on a man with a musky skin scent it does still smell pretty good.
@@SchoolOfScent OK. I know why. I downloaded the video on UA-cam premium to watch it later and when I played it, it had no audio. But, when I deleted it and streamed it directly from the app, now it works. Hope this helps in the future.
PDM Kalan is horrid. One of the few fragrances i really hate. It smells like a metal plate. The only purchase i regret. On the other hand, Quoros is great. Smelled it for the first time today and loved it. I thought there is more than one quoros as it smelled so good but got so much hate. So, how do the "meh" ratings for Jeremy's and Demi's brands reflect on their expertise? What do you aim for with Mr Frangrant? No, I don't expect a Creed Juventus moment and can quite understand mid-range "good value for the money" marketing. As you suggest, maybe it's simply a case of missing that message, Jeremy could have done well at half the price (and as the pioneer here, maybe just a case of not having the business saavy...or just ego?) Demi's again is "very expensive" and doesn't last but would be OK at a lower price-point? I find your imagery very good and would expect you to have a very clear, even refined concept of what you want out of it. Good luck. (and yeah, I understand you probably don't want to start a p'ing contest talking about other YTers)

Kouros was another one I had in the 80s. It sat well on me, and I had no adverse reaction.
I love Kouros. My bottle is about 3 - 4 years old. Basically, it is a White Musk ( the same as Tabac, which I also love ). A Barbershop Scent.
Tabac is nice but weak
Two vids in this week from Omar 😍 that’s definitely what I was looking for 😃!! Keep it up bro u have the best content in the fragrance community 🙏🏼
Haven't had to apply it since 1989 and still smelling great 😂😂
“UA-camr fragrance release!”
Trigger the Fragrantica Fairyland Bloop mafia!
❤ my Kouros, takes me back to the 80 s every time, a true Masterpiece of perfumery………😎👌🕺
(one million, Halloween etc)
It's all about the region/area you are and the ethnicity you are trying to approach, different cultures different preferences ;)
Very pleasant but weak and not worth price tag
Phantom is gross. This was two sprays off a sample and in the garbage.
K EDT, I like. Solid little mainstream frag. Unique in its own way while being mass appealing.
i've got a Kouros sample.i don't think its bad. i think it needs more than one try to appreciate it
I used to use kouros back in the 80s..
Bought one at the dutyfree on some vacation back when i was 15 y old in 88 😀
Had a teacher used to mock me because of it.. Remember he called it Greek barn smell... But I loved it 😊
It totally won over My pierre Cardin for Men.. The brown deo spray 🙄
“I think actually the internet is the future…” 😂 what is this internet you speak of?!
Love the content, favourite reviewer, keep it coming!
Love the videos man, keep up the reviews 🔥
I agree with what you said about the internet sales being the future. A lot of what I would describe as "new luxury brands" started with passionate people who could not find exactly what they wanted and decided to make it themselves. Some brands I love are Thursday Boots, NAB leather (belts) and Carl Friedrik (wallets).
Thursday boots currently make up half of my footwear collection. Love those.
@@kmw5100 same, same. Boots, sneakers, shoes.
Fantastic to hear!! 😁❤️
I'm also interested in this one. Who would you recommend it for? What kind of vibe does it have?
@@DuSeun In my opinion everyone can wear this fragrance,it's very well blended and the rose is not feminine at all...the dry down is magical..it's very very strong one of the strongest that I tried from Mancera and the projection is beastly too...I hope I helped you!!!
Pumped for Mr. Fragrant! Hope to get it here in Canada
I got the most compliments wearing Office for men. Outside of the price, it’s just way too loud for an office environment.
Have you reviewed the Producer Michael fragrance? He’s a huge UA-cam following. It is pricey though.
I did a blind tesr with all my parfums and office for men, Loewe Cedro solo and gaultier " le beau" where the top 3:-)
Great video mate! Although I must say that Kalan is horrible indeed, own some PDM's myself and they're masterpieces but I honestly can't imagine why anyone would like to smell like Kalan
I agree. I have a PdM sample set and it is one the worst fragrances I have ever smelled.
Clubbing in Kouros? Boy you are a menace to society 😂
@@Gajsu1at that time it was the best potion against cigarette odor 😂
Great stuff Sir!!!!
The Office it's amazing fragrance I absolutely love the smell. It makes other top brands look average. It's definitely my no 1. I was very impressed when I first put my nose onit. I'm surprised lot of people don't like it. Yes I agree the price a little high.
I used to wear the hell out of Kouros back in the 1980s going clubbing. Loud, proud, stand out in a crowd! 😁😁😁
The proof thar smell is just subjective...because kalan is in my top 10 best scents that I own..I love kalan....
I always thought Kouros smells more like incense and soap, it reminds me of a record/smoke shop, doesn’t really make me think of pee or feces (or semen) like most people keep complaining about it, I actually enjoy the scent a lot, or maybe that’s just me.
You are making 1 new fragrance? Cool man, where can I preorder?
i actually enjoy Paco Robane Phantom its sweet to me i dont think its versatile, K is horrible in my opinion
I think people's problem with "King" wasn't the scent itself
The fact that they took a bubblegum fragrance and marketed it like it was a luxurious fragrance you'd expect from an Italian millionaire was preposterous
Office it's ok, but Black tie is AWESOME! It's all about hate.
I agree. The hate is because of Jeremy and the prices. They are good frags though.
@@hworth3 100%
Unless it comes inside a robot.
I bought D&G K edp because I found a busted bottle of it when I was working I picked it up and smelt it and it smelt amazing and then I went and bought a bottle and I can’t stand it the juniper in the opening makes me wanna smash the bottle maybe that’s why I found it that way 😂
Nice video. Very original.
Interestingly, though, phantom's got more love from the women asked by curly in one of her videos
Kouros is the scent of the 80’s!
Kouros is definitely a masterpiece.
Phatom is good but I honestly just got it for the bottle lol
I love Kalan is 👌👍 fragrance.
It’s the job of the Perfumer to do this, not the reviewer 😂
Yes. That's why they should review, not pretend to create "one of the best fragrances"
Simply taking a little bit of sauvage, a little bit of aventus, a little of this is more shameful than cheap clones
I feel D&G K has a fabric-centric angle.
Kouros is a masterpiece!
Who wouldn't want to smell like shit? 10/10 - masterpiece!
I’m a teen at the age of 14 and looking to buy a fragnace what would you recommend me 30-50€;
U should say how u want to smell...sweet or fresh? I'd say buy Versace Dylan blue u may find it on a discounter for around 50 euros
@@HeavenlyDemon592 I would say sweet
@@HeavenlyDemon592 is crevasse Dylan blue a sweet fragnace ?
Montblanc individuel
@@n1ckzxz286 it's a well rounded fragrance, some say fresh out the shower blue fragrance ...smells a bit like sauvage...so not that sweet
Office 4 Men is a nice fragrance and does what supposed to do
Only the price was exaggerated and disgusting considering his buyers are his followers
Anyone has the ”right” to release a fragrance…or sing, paint or whatever they want to express themselves.
Those who don’t like the result don’t have to buy it.
Bro Do you think that Prada l homme smells like a feminin fragrance?
Yes to a certain extent
As a woman, I can tell you that it does and that there are definitely manlier and sexier scents out there. However, on a man with a musky skin scent it does still smell pretty good.
Why is there a audio issue with this video? I can't hear a thing
All working on my end?
@@SchoolOfScent OK. I know why.
I downloaded the video on UA-cam premium to watch it later and when I played it, it had no audio. But, when I deleted it and streamed it directly from the app, now it works.
Hope this helps in the future.
Some reviewers in Fragrantica is so overdramatic, as if they got personal beef with the perfumers themselves
PDM Kalan is horrid. One of the few fragrances i really hate. It smells like a metal plate. The only purchase i regret. On the other hand, Quoros is great. Smelled it for the first time today and loved it. I thought there is more than one quoros as it smelled so good but got so much hate. I thought it was going to be a animalistic oud style fragrance, but it was actually the opposite. Quoros is my next purchase.
I owned office and was repulsed at what garbage that was. Also it wasn’t strong either it was very average performing. Date was really good but too sweet. Kalan imo is good. Phantom is bad ass
2:12 🤣 is it really that bad man
I wore Kouros once, and had one person tell me I smelled like a petshop and another said like a crack house.
Good luck. (and yeah, I understand you probably don't want to start a p'ing contest talking about other YTers)
when i first smelled phantom, it legitimately smelled like wet dog to me
I need the Kay
