      I totally agree! This was a woman who sent them to me and it was her grandmother‘s pieces and she wanted them restored so now she gets to have them back like that. I know some people like to keep them in the more worn condition and that’s perfectly fine to keep those memories and the wear on them but sometimes I feel like having them restored is just a wonderful wonderful way to be able to wear them and cherish them too. If you ever decide you would like some of yours restored, I’m happy to do it. You just have to pay for the shipping back-and-forth and let me videotape it and I would love to make your pieces beautiful again if that’s something you were ever interested in.

      I have that video coming in about two days! The Temu company gave me a lot of free stuff to review so I wanted to give it out on the video. But if you email me I will give you the name of it now and make sure you get some of this free stuff! I got a lot of those polish rods!! They are amazing and I use to get them for a lot more.

    what is the best cheapest sonic cleaner? please and thank you

    • @OlivesVintageMarket
      @OlivesVintageMarket  6 місяців тому

      lol that’s on my video (the one in a few days) too. Honestly I got mine at an estate sale. They all work about the same. I’ve had $200 ones and the $10 work just as well. It’s the stuff you put in it. Hey sonic cleaner is just a vibrations. That’s the only thing they do. Very large ones I’ve had had a bigger capacity, but they honestly didn’t do any better than the little one I showed on this video that I got free and a box of stuff at the estate sale and just decided to use it.

    Can this be done with marcasites? I have a great little sterling bird pendant that needs all the marcasites taken out and replaced. I have new marcasites but have no idea how to get the old ones and any residue out.

    • @OlivesVintageMarket
      @OlivesVintageMarket  6 місяців тому

      Sure can. I redo marcasite all the time. They are always in there really tight and well glued. The thing is not trying to save the old ones. They must die on the sacrificial restoration block, lol. Most stones shatter when you dig them out and antique fine jewelry was made really really well so it is very hard to harvest or salvage stones from them. If you piece is sterling and not pot metal or white metal then soaking it for days will not hurt it (ok
      Maybe that would be a little long for tiny mechanics, lol) but even near boiling water will be fine to try and loosen the stone then take a beading awl or exacto knife and pry those babies out. If you can not do it, you can always send it to me. As long as you pay for the shipping back and forth I will just do it for you for free.
