It's that moment right after his speech. He understands the job of being a movie star. He is honest, funny, dramatic in his speech, he does that part of the job. And then the photographer stands up and he gives her a smile and a nod and poses. He understands the gig. He's a pro.
I love how Ryan incorporated "I'm just Ken" in his acceptance speech 😅.

The Notebook solidified him into mainstream movies. My favorite role of his was in Blue Valentine. There really is no typecasting him. This was so satisfying to watch. It really is actors like this who transport us common folk into different realms. ❤

Everyone always forgets FRACTURE! he was so amazing in that and was able to hold his own against Sir Anthony Hopkins
Yessir!!! He was AMAZING in that film. I saw it in theatre’s and bought it on DVD. He did hold his own, with everyone and was incredibly ambitious, suave, eloquent and strong yet emotional while doing so. He’s got it all and leaves the audience satiated but wanting more.
Glad you mentioned Fracture. I feel that is criminally underrated. Ryan playing off Hopkins was an unexpected delight and the plotline was really clever too

I don't love the idea of role models or parasocial feelings towards celebrities but if I would have to choose somebody from that world to look up to, it would be Ryan Gosling
Possibly because it's not the "star" part you'd be looking up to? Either because he seems to a Good Person, who happens to be a colosally bankable film actor, when most people's para is to the characters, not the person? Or because he plays the truth and not the perfection of the characters he chooses to play - there's always a feeling of authenticity, of real people rather than a character or cog in the story? I struggle with this myself, and that's as far as I've got mostly though, I tell my brain to shut up and just enjoy it. 😅
@@fionam7768 Mmm no i mean i love his roles but I do look up to him not his characters. I like what he has said in his interviews and well all the things Steve and Greta mention about him. I know it's parasocial and I only know what is public about him but yeah. I like to believe he is a good dude and not another satanic underground illuminati reptile from Hollywood. I think one the interviews i like the most it's one he did for Lars and the Real Girl, you can look it up it's really good.

This is so funny because my daughter also loved movies so much. She had a learning disability and reading when she was younger and movies were her way of learning about the world. She watched black-and-white. She watched Steve McQueen she watched all the oldies and the new ones. And she was able to fill the void that she had from not enjoying books. So funny to hear how they affected his life as well. By the way, she is very successful and finished college just fine
