I was just reminiscing about my old bmx days and I thought let me look and see if there's some old videos posted and then holy sheet guess what Batmon there's new videos of the legends Martin Aparijo, Eddie Fiola still working their magic, hats off to the legends for keeping that fire burning!!!
We idealized this guy as a teenager. We got freestyle bikes because we all had been riding the local gravel pits in South Jersey already so anything involving a bike we had to be apart of. My first and only freestyle bike even though I really wanted one of the top name brands like Haro, GT, Dyno, Diamond back, mainly a GT performer was at the top of my list but instead got a 1986-87 Raleigh Mag Shock in white and red it had an ACS rotor that was super clean looking. We would imitate tricks we saw in the movie RAD. We even dressed the the part with pro brand outfits and helmets. I remember going to a freestyle road show at the local grocery store chain parking lot. It was an awesome time in my child hood. Thank You Martin Aparijo for you legendary contributions to freestyle.
The 80s, a great and special time, I loved my Raleigh shock freestyle bike. A time when my Brothers and I, neighbor kids got together and rode freestyle bikes, skateboarding all day. Love the movie RAD, MOM AND POP STORES, be kind, rewind..
My favorite rider back in the day ...had this one trick where the bike was leaning to the side on the pedal and he was on the pegs then the bike flipped all the way over like a barrol roll.....never saw anyone else pull that one off. Lol great time in life
