FYI: SIBO isn't a bacteria problem, it's a gut motility problem. Use ginger and artichoke extract on an empty stomach every morning. There's a product called motility pro.
This stimulates the small bowel so bacteria cannot proliferate there anymore. Make sure to use something like magnesium to make sure your large bowel moves so you don't get "backed up".
Use the motility pro every morning on an empty stomach. Can also use different forms of tea to help get things moving.

I just wanna pop in here and let you know that you are not alone and it's a blessing to find this video today of all days 🙏
Besides our triggers being different (yours being the food poisoning and mine having been a 3 month medication treatment called Ozempic), our stories align flawlessly.
I went from doctor to doctor to no avail, tried a billion things and got misdiagnosed about a dozen times until finally I arrived at a rather interesting individual who is my current (more hollistic) doctor
He told me to get my spine checked as well as to perform a SIBO test. Both of which I was like "uhh, what now? and this explains my issues how?"
As it turns out, like you, I also have my c1 & c2 bent in my spine (yep, also from a car accident from a few years back). I have your exact GI symptoms except for the burping, I'm on this crazy restrictive diet that doesn't seem to help much and the final step of my journey is one that I took today which was my SIBO test where I breathed high levels of Methane all the way throughout the 2 hours
I'll be following up on this next week with the doctor who introduced me to SIBO in the first place. Hopefully we have some good options for treatment out here in Belgium
Its a real blessing to find someone with a story so similar to mine and you have my utmost empathy for the other chronic illnesses because my gf also suffers from endo, is also on depo and quite literally everything you've mentioned has been mind-bogglingly relatable
Thank you for having made and posted this video. I really needed that today ☺
I hope you find some comfort on your journey and if I ever do in mine I will come back here let you know. I trust you to make another video should you find a solution on your end. We got this!

I could empathise with a lot of what you said. I think your concluding statements in which you talk aboutliving with and accepting SIBO is a better approach than fighting. Actually I think that is often true of sickness. I regard my SIBO as a pesky lodger in my house. I hope one day he may decide to move of his own free will but maybe he won't . Fighting him directly may cause more problems because he might turn especially nasty and smash up the living room. The best thing to do is to make life tolerable by trying to ensure he doesnt mess up the kirchen too much etc, avoiding provoking situations and getting him to ackowledge part of the house as out of bounds..
A lot of the the things which help are very personal. In my experience these things help:
    1) not eating at all until midday. Gviing up breakfast which I did about 6 years ago was soemthing of a "game changer" it didnt cure me at all but has brought considerable relief.
    2) avoiding all fizzy drinks-I SOOOOOOOO miss beer. More than anything else forget the pasta the tomatoes the bread the sugar the milk it is BEER I really really miss but I know what happens if I drink it.
    3) finding the right soothing tea and that is different I think for everyone but there is one out there for everyone. I fing ginger is good.
    4) walking alot everyday and doing other physical exercises
    5) having a regular day so that your body has a fair idea of what to expect every day
    6) not being inlfuenced too much by what people say is good or not good for you but fixing that through your own experience. For example mint tea is suppsoed to be good for everyone with SIBO. It doesnt seem too brilliant with me. I must be wierd but there is no point in going on with something because everyone says it si good. If mint tea makes your stomach rumble however weird that is, lsten to your stomach.
    7) avoiding stress which might include not going to too many doctors! Every visit to a doctor or hospital itsself in my opinion makes most symptoms of most illnesses worse. This applies to every kind of sickness
    8) Who is the boss you or your illness? Dont obsess about your illness. It is not a subject which will interst many people you know and anyway you have other things to deal with in your life. Make sure the lodger doesnt bother you all the time with long stories
Have you heard of Dr Pimentel's strongly held belief that SIBO and IMO are incurable so long as nobody finds a way top remove the antibodies which arose as a result of food poisoning? CdtB and vinculin antibodies. If Dr Pimentel is right, SIBO and IMO are currently incurable.
A last point: I had the breath test and have massive methane overgrowth too baseline is 13 and my high point was 68.5. Doctors do not make clear that it is possible to have chronic diorrhea with methane but that is the case with me. However, I do not have constipation ro belcihing at all supposedly typical for methane I have chronic diorrhea (5 days out of 7 on average ina week and that for the last 30 years) -I notice that some symptoms dominate for a given period and then give way to other symptoms. Dont know who has explanation for that I used to have colic about 3 times a week now about twice a month (thank goodness).

Thank you for sharing your story as I can totally relate.I have had severe SIBO / GERD and other chronic illnesses as a result for over 20 years. Through my journey I actually became Naturopath and Eating Psychology Coach in order to understand and try to cope with my illness. Methane SIBO (my levels were literally off the charts!) can be daunting and exhausting to treat, especially when you are sensitive to both supplements and medications and your symptoms get worse during treatment.
You make a good point about accepting the condition but also not giving up hope and trying new things. Sticking to a protocol is not easy as we all want to be able to enjoy food and the human connection and pleasure that goes along with it. Taking many different pills can be confusing and we can get lost in all the different information that out there for a successful treatment. To be honest I have only been able to actively attempt to treat this condition in small doses as it makes functioning in my life much more difficult than actually managing my symptoms (i luv food too much to severely restrict my diet!). That being said all we can do keep going as best we can and have compassion for ourselves.
The body is a complex machine and yes.. there can be many root causes that can contribute to this condition. Some advice on things that weren't mentioned in your video are the mold exposure/ toxicity- SIBO connection (something to maybe look into), emotional trauma/ stress, vagal nerve function, prokinetics, proper HCl production and bile flow. A probiotic that has really helped me with symptom management is Biogia. Best of luck to you.. I am right there with you in this journey!

Thank you so much for this. Very informative. I have been in agony ever since I got really sick with "something" right after an upper EGD where they took 12 biopsies. I ended up in the hospital with what they thought was gastroparesis. I wasn't able to get appropriate care for months. Had a gastric emptying study done and it turns out I have dumping syndrome on top of chronic GERD with Barrett's Esophagus. I have been in hell with severe bloating, nausea, sometime vomitting, flushing, blood sugar drops, and a rash on my face for about five months. I am finally being treated for SIBO with antibiotics - without even being tested because she said they get a lot of false negatives and she is going by my symptoms.
I tried the low FODMAP diet, which helped a little, but I gave up thinking my problem was just the dumping syndrome - where my food is moving too fast into my small intestine.
Anyway, I am exhausted from it all - just for eating food. I also have a host of other chronic illnesses - Fibro w/ fatigue/migraines/ tendonopathy/GERD and bipolar depression. It's been really hard with the added gut issues. Nothing natural I have done has helped at all.
Your talk at least helped me realize that if my antibiotics don't knock this out, it may be a different type of SIBO. I am sorry you have had to live with many chronic conditions. The whole doctor thing sure is tiring, confusing, and frustrating at times.
The chronic GERD seemed to start after a heart surgery I had in May of 2022. - a PFO/ASD closure. I think the stress of physical trauma threw me completely off balance and then the aggressive EGD put me further out of balance.
My GI doc thinks I might have gotten a viral or bacterial infection during the EGD that they weren't able to test for in the hospital, because they ruled everything else out.

PPIs cause SIBO, you already have an overgrowth of bacteria so probiotics will add to the problem. You probably also have leaky gut and some level of histamine intolerance.
Fasting will starve the bacteria to death and give your digestive system a break to begin to heal. Continue intermittent fasting (12-16 hours from your last meal of the day till you begin eating the next day).
Then take glutamine for several weeks while only eating the food that upsets your stomach the least. Next take HCI, digestive enzymes, and ginger extract plus artichoke extract ( to cause the muscles that move food through the small intestine to start working and eliminate the food before the bacteria starts to get overgrown again). L-glutathione is something you can take the whole time as a powerful antioxidant and for intestinal health.
When you start the enzymes, you gradually start introducing different foods, and fermented foods that naturally have probiotics in them.
Then after going through that year or so of having to have a lot of self control, you will be free of SIBO, and enjoy eating as you please. Try not to use over the counter medicine like ibuprofen and things that are hard on the lining of your stomach.
Pray to God and Jesus everyday too.

Have you tried using specific probiotics that are recommended for Methano Overgrowth like Lactobacillus Reuteri + a High Fodmap Diet? Basically giving the rest of the microbiome support to fight of the archaea? Because to me rifixamin is something that only makes it easier for archaea to win. Which is why it's not recommended for methane overgrowth. Also, did you try improving your peristalsis? That usually is the main cause of sibo overall. Spacing out Food eating bigger but less meals a day(3times or two times) improves MMC. Sometimes its good to look into Enzyme production, bile acid production and stomach acid production which can make methane worse. Also if you eat paleo and high fat high protein you might support archaea overall.

Hey! Keto helps some! I currently do/prefer keto over paleo or any other diet. I feel great when im on it. BUT, for chronic digestive issues, transitioning from keto into Carnivore (meat, eggs and dairy only - sort of a reset diet) for a little while will probably do your body wonders. Animal products are 98% digested in the stomach so when doing carnivore you are giving your intestines a break. I did it one time to ease up some of my own chronic digestive issues and it helped a ton. While it has not cured my constipation (POTS caused), it did take care of my extreme bloating, cramping and intestinal imbalance. I think they recommend carnivore for 3 months. I was only able to make it 8-10 days, but I noticed a big difference in my gut in that short amount of time. I dont really get bloated as often and if I do(from too many sugar alcohols, Haha), its not nearly as bad as it was prior to carnivore.
Its easier to transition into carnivore from keto and then back into keto from carnivore. Youll also be able to see what your stomach is super sensitive too as you reintroduce normal foods back into your diet.
Definitely something id look into if you think youd be able to do it. *If youve done low-fodmaps you can do anything. Haha
Also if your sensitive to dairy or red meat, a lot of times that gets fixed on carnivore. Thomas Delauer tried carnivore for a month (just as an experiment to see if he liked it) and while previously he wasnt able to handle red meat, he was able too while on carnivore. If youre interested I can send you a few names of people you can watch on UA-cam to decide if its something youd wanna give a try after you do keto for a couple months.

In 2020 I had a had Hashimoto's flare up.. then later that year I had food poisoning which triggered my IBS (diagnosed with that in 2009) and created my first bout with methane SIBO.. Now I have it AGAIN (wimper) after drinking a glass of wine and a few days later eating Sauerkraut.. My SIBO is back and worse then the first time. I suffer from minor scoliosis after a car hit me on my bicycle while I was riding very fast in New Zealand in 2009.. my spine never went back to normal and during PMS I have really bad headaches and migraines (hello fun constipation not 😆) due to hormone changes and the spine's connection to the digestive system. during PMS all the hormones that are normal pain buffers are not present, and anything out of alignment in the body can be felt... anyway I just started to watch your video.. just so fascinating as the spine's connection transmitting messages between the brain and the stomach didn't even occur to me to have a relevancy to SIBO.. but wow, I bet it does! Kidney stones, migraines, food poisoning, endometriosis, car accident, and SIBO are all great clues! Kidney stones suggest that urine pH is way off. Stones don't form if pH is close to neutral. What pH does urine show in the night and in the morning? When one goes vegan, endometriosis and food poisoning becomes rare. Neu5Gc can sometimes embed itself in tissue when one eats meat. This sialic acid causes chronic inflammation. When bitten by a Lonestar tick, then one becomes allergic to mammalian meat. Bloating (bacterial overgrowth) can come from too little stomach acid, and that can make urine too alkaline. If you have allergy to Balsam of Puru, you are allergic to a lot of foods. Sometimes intestinal neurological issues can cause grief in the intestines. Thus, it may be good to see an allergist, an immunologist, and a gastroenterologist to get answers.

Maybe this paleo diet had too much protein, which body then converted carbohydrates? Or maybe it's hiding because of this diet? I have this problem (Sibo) and it can really screw up a lot. Lower back issues maybe a cause too.

Thank you so much for sharing your story!!! It could be told by me... I have IMO (= methane sibo) too and already tried so many things, also rifaximin (xifaxan), but nothing really helped. Except keto diet without vegetables (about 3 or 4 weeks) - it helped a lot, but caused even more constipation (bad!). So I stopped it. But I still avoid fibers and vegetables. I eat white meal with proteins (meat, dairy, eggs...) and simple sugar. That works halfway. To fight constipation I now take magnesium for some days which seems to help... All the best!

Has anyone tried the Spooky2 rife system for methane Sibo? I've had sibo for close to 10 years and am getting a decent herx from the methane frequencies using the cheap $100 system. I plan to use more powerful $2k plasma system soon and will update if anyone is interested.

I have been dealing with these symptoms for years as well. Being treated for methane SIBO with antibiotics currently. Just finished Xifaxin and still on Neomycin. No change.
I refuse to keep taking tests. Expensive and what difference does it make what they say? The treatments are all the same. My issue is and bloating and constipation. I literally do not poop unless I make myself with medication, suppositories, and enemas. Good times! Have tried all the things! Nothing works. Willing to try Keto I guess.
    Good luck to you!

Feeling better during. pregancy signals exsessive estrogen. I am struggling now. Im in menopause. My sibo got better for the week my cousin visited. She has cancer. We removed all toxic cleaning proucts, scented candles...anything perfumed. I cooked gluten-free and anti inflammatory. In the morning we ate bananas cut up with blueberries, sprinkled with cardamon and ground flax. My stomach felt so much better. It flattened out a bit. Now i am back to my old diet and we brought back all the toxic cleaning chemicals, scented soaps, etc and i feel terrible again. My sibo started when i entroduced dairy into my diet when i started dating my husband. I started burping uncontrollably. I did the 80/10/10 diet and the sibo stopped. My hormones normalized. My stomach flattened and i finally lost weight. Then i got off it and tge sibo is back. I can't digest fat. So i am going to limit fat and try BETAINE HCL or ox bile. I have ordered a product called Beetflow to try. I also have started to use a colonic board occasionally which makes me feel better when i feel yucky.

Been trying to treat myself for a long time but just found a chiropractor who also studied gut health because he too suffered from leaky gut, sibo, and his went into neuropathy as well. He has showed me it's neurological and yes the vagus nerve is a big culprit. I have just started treatment using quantum neurology exercises, infrared light, supplements and adjustments and carnivore diet and my ileocecal valve that is governed by the vagus nerve has finally stopped throbbing in pain and I feel hopeful for first time. Find a functional medical practitioner that understands the neurological component to gut issues. Game changer

I took Heather's Tummy Fiber and Agiolax (only when needed because it's stronger than Heather's Tummy Fiber) .IF i did have SIBO, my regimen for SIBO would have been 6x Atrantil (2 by 3 with meals) and Rifaximin for 10 days at 1200mg-1500mg, but I never had to do that. Try the Heather's Tummy Fiber + Atrantil as needed first before reaching for antibiotics. Another thing I've heard might work is Dysbiocide + FC Cidal (not sure the dosage - check with your doctor).
