Yes, it turned out beautifully! I’ve a 1998 YZ250 as well. Extensive motor work from the crank outwards to the clutch basket, cylinder porting, headwork, piston, V-force reeds, etc. Very strong motor, but very rideable too! Suspension professionally done, titanium rear subframe, Pro Circuit full exhaust. Talon hubs (gold) and Takasago Excel rims (gold). Love my ‘98 YZ250😊Your ‘98 YZ250 is very nicely done! Looks beautiful! I’m almost certain that it runs impressively. Great job on your build!
No it's not. It's was a terd. I have one. Great offroad bike. Shit mx bike in anything but the slick. 96 97 98 all crap years for yamaha yz 250. Brand new bike and motor in 96. All mid range .. 97 all top end... soft bottom... 98 all bottom end shit top end. Motor replaced with essentially the current platform in 99
@@dormantmenace this could be mitigated with the 89 long rod or changing the 97 cdi to 98, and mild porting & a pipe, it keeps up/passes my 2023 yz250.
😊full rotisserie rebuild, I have the exact year bike, getting harder to find parts for these old gals, as the 98 was a 1 year model. Prolly one of the fastest 2stroke Mx I’ve ridden with the 89 long rod.
Most of the time costs more than a brand new bike, plus labour/time, finding parts can be a major pain. Lots of items are no longer produced, when you do find them usually huge markup. All considering if it’s a labour of love then do them, I actually find rebuilding them therapeutic
did you have any problems with fouling spark plugs... i have a yz 250 1998 and every time i swaped out spark plug it ran good but when it cooled down and i fired it back up it ran 10min and fouled it again
Salut excellente question du coup c'est que des projets perso, des motos que je rachetes moi epave ou n'ayant pas rouler depuis longtemp et que je restaure ou remet en route et que je revend par la suite 😁
Can’t keep my eyes off it , that’s a good looking Yamaha .
Thank you so much 😁😁👌👌

@@Arthur-osama the oversized rotor/brake kits are a great upgrade. Great job.

Same here with me! Love my ‘98 YZ250 too; extremely modded every aspect, but what a fantastic final product it has become…and beautiful too!
Awesome man. I had a 99 but it was ragged out😂
99 still would of smoked the 98 engine
@@dormantmenacefalse, try with the 89 long rod kit as I have a 98 and 2023 which has the newer 99+ engine

Should have fired it up for us to hear!!!
Yamaha and Aprilia
I always wonder if it's worth rebuilding an older bike. Does it costs more than a new one to do?
3000$ to rebuild this bike 😅😅
