Scary. Temple ordinances (Celestial marriage - being sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise) are required for Exaltation. What is your motivation with this site?
You realize what Joseph taught and what we are taught are two very different things that lead on two very different paths. The strait and narrow path or the covenant path. They are mutually exclusive, one to the right and one to the left. For me it is getting easier to discern. If something was printed during Joseph's lifetime like D&C 1835 edition and maybe 1844 edition then these things are sound. Anything printed after his death and even quotes that were later published are apocryphal material (read with discernment) at best and false at worst. So lectures on Faith are back in, D&C 101 on Monogamy back in. D&C 110 and onward not so much and some no not at all. Just look at lectures on Faith that is canonized scripture, the section on 2 Gods only, no trinity. Then look at D&C 130, what gives? The Pearl of Great Price, suspect. Not printed under Joseph. The King Follett speech yea, I don't think so. It was only recorded by his enemies, the polygamists. Did he give a talk sure, is what we have what he said, I do not believe it. When you see all the revisions, to the opposite meaning, after Joseph's death even in his own journal, you know we are in trouble. Thanks for using D&C vision of the Celestial. There is no thinking Celestial, only becoming by overcoming through the Lamb. Joseph was trying to prepare people for the fulness in the house of God. The fulness was not a ceremony or covenants. It was coming into the presence of the Savior. Just as what happened at Kirkland.
Sections 76 and 88 clearly outline what it takes to be quickened to a celestial level of glory. You will not find anything about the temple. The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel. It says nothing about temple ordinances. The so-called "covenant path" is a checklist of dead works to APPEASE THE LORD. The Doctrine of Christ is focused on BECOMING LIKE THE LORD.
@@ChristConvicted Don't start practicing now there's still time to reconsider and choose a path that won't lead to gnashing your teeth later. There's a song you've likely sung that has the phrase: "Let no spirit of digression overcome you in the evil hour." well, we live in a time where that spirit is starting to make gains among the saints. It's expected though, if you look at history you'll see that the same thing is repeating itself, as people today are no different than those that have long sense past ahead of us. We are just over 200 years since Joseph Smith received the plates and the restoration of the Gospel began. For a historical perspective, read 4 Nephi 22-28 and ask yourself what is going on with the people then, what did they start doing, and what did they start denying? Was it the apostles and prophets that started leading people astray or was it the people leading other people down questionable paths? The spirit of digression takes our natural fears of seeing the wickedness and deception around us and then uses that same fear to find any and all reasons to believe we too are being deceived and need to jump ship. If you would, the Lord gave us a solution for such times of these. One is to liken the scriptures to yourself and using 4 Nephi among other will help with that perspective. Or just go straight to D&C 1. I would wager that anyone who listens or reads it twice in the morning and twice at night and also before doing any youtube binges, as a pattern for at least a month will have a sure understanding of the Lord's path and if he or she is on it. D&C 1 is the Lord's testimony and witness of His work, and no matter what path we might be on now, I will wager the Lord will set whoever does this squarely on His straight and narrow path with them pointed in the right direction by the time it has been read or listened to 120 times in that short period of time. Or you can always gnash at me now, 👿
@@Tooth-Gnasher there a prophecy given to the LDS about when Zion is established and those who will inhabit it will figure things out. D&C 64:38 For it shall come to pass that the inhabitants of Zion shall judge all things pertaining to Zion. 39 And liars and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known. The preceding verse of this one talks about the time before the 2nd coming: - “And upon my house shall it begin, and from my house shall it go forth, saith the Lord; First among THOSE among you, saith the Lord, who have professed to know my name and have not known me, and have blasphemed against me in the midst of my house, saith the Lord.” D&C 112:25-26. Who are THOSE? In the surrounding verses it defines who THOSE are. V20”…those, the First Presidency” and v30 “For unto you, the Twelve, and those, the First Presidency” - Regarding Ephraim’s prophets, “priests and prophets have gone astray through liquor. They are intoxicated with wine and stagger because of strong drink; they err as seers, they blunder in their decisions. For all tables are filled with vomit; no spot is without excrement.” Isaiah 28:7-8 - “We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet” Psalm 74:9 So I believe the men who require us to sustain them as prophet, seers and revelators, who do not prophecy, who do not invoke "Thus saith the Lord" and leave one guessing when it is the Lord or their opinion, who have not produced one verse of scripture since the days of Joseph Smith, who do not testify like Joseph that they have seen God face to face and bear that witness. Perhaps these men are the false prophets that Jesus warned the elect of following in Matt 24. They have not born the fruit of their position. Time that we call a spade a spade.
@@JoeCana D&C 64 is an interesting reference in that the context of the section is the Lord chastening those who have sinned specifically Ezra Booth and others who started speaking ill against Prophet and the Church and telling them that the rebellious are not of the blood of Ephraim and will be plucked out. This section was given in 1831 prior to Zion's camp's attempt to redeem their lands and prior to the selection and calling of the first quorum of apostles. It was later then that the liars and hypocrites were made known and a third of the apostles did apostatize and were removed from the twelve and apt fulfilling of the words of this section. The other sections and those verses from Isaiah mentioned I'm familiar with as well yet the error is not in those scriptures but in how so many endowed priests and dare I say prophets have gone astray in applying these words to others and not to themselves. Joseph Smith said “Some people say I am a fallen Prophet, because I do not bring forth more of the word of the Lord, Why do I not do it? Are we able to receive it? No! Not one in this room. He then chastened the congregation for their wickedness and unbelief, ‘for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son and daughter whom he receiveth,’ and if we do not receive chastisements then we are bastards and not sons.” I still contend that the spirit of digression that is overtaking many is nothing that hasn't happened before and is happening now. It happened with those "saints" around Joseph, and yet his answer stands for every prophet since. If he wasn't unable to bring forth more of the word of the Lord because the saints weren't able to receive it, why do you condemn any prophet after him as if you are more able to receive it than those in Joseph's day. It has always been human nature to succumb to the fear and distractions the adversary sews among us as tares among the wheat. You need only study pride and the cycles of history to see how people repeat and fall prey to the same temptations and vices of pride. The scriptures are full of them and yet man is prone to find fault, to see error when they should forgive. I get that we are living in the last days, I see scripture being fulfilled that shows how close we are to those days were upon our house it will begin, but the danger isn't with following the prophet, the danger has always been with people who fear and because they fear they excite those around them and instead of listening to the voice of the Lord (and His servants D&C 1), the saints who should be following the Lord instead accept and trust that arm of flesh from a neighbor, a friend, a brother, a sister, an influencer etc, all the while extolling why they won't accept a prophet's "arm of flesh"... but I digress! If you want to call it a spade, you won't be the first to have left the safety of a prophet's voice, and you won't be the last. For now, you can gnash at me all you want, but I don't wish upon you or anyone else the gnashing that will come later. I do pray you will yet see how many times Joseph and the Lord in scripture testified that His work will go forward regardless of the frailties and imperfect people He has to work with. Joseph said that "no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear; till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done." There maybe a few things there that need to be tidied up before there is no more [need for] any prophet, as I think there is a scripture that talks about how the Lord won't do anything without revealing it to a prophet, so why don't we help the Lord finish His work before we spend anymore calumny, on the Lord's servants.
All the signs and tokens and new names... to pass the sentinels, except Jesus says he's the keeper of the gate and employs no servant there. Sorry you can't get in because it was stand on one leg, wink and then touch your nose. You got the order mixed up and the name sounded wrong with your funny accent.
you gotta pass by the angels and sentinels before you get to the Gate and Jesus. Those who receive Christs servants receive him and those who receive Christ receive His Father and shall receive all that the father hath. Logically it follows that those who do not and will not receive Christ's servants will not receive him and so on.
From what I understand. There was no endowment at Kirkland. Just the washing and anointing and they were doing the washing and anointing before the temple was even finished. The idea of the endowment wasn’t till Nauvoo and what that actually was as a historical record is very spotty as to what Joseph actually revealed. This is why we have the statement from Brigham young that he said that Joseph said we have done our best now you need to go and finish it. Baptisms for the dead are introduced but at one point stopped because Joseph seems to indicate that they are not doing it correctly. Both the endowment and baptism for the dead seem to have limited understanding as from a perspective of Joseph as he was in so much conflict that was taking his attention.
