I've taken the Wolverine twice in 2020 and I remember hearing the conductor over the intercom to please be careful moving about as the train will reach up to 110 miles per hour. My GPS read 130! When the attendant stopped by my seat, I pointed out the 130 mph on my GPS and he stated that the 110 was just an estimate! That train flies I can tell you that. It was awesome and amazing, but a little scary for a 70yr old! Almost got a woodie! I've taken Amtrak from East to West and back again twice, and North to South six times. The Wolverine was the only train I had to travel business class as I usually have a room. The sleepers are the only way to travel! Be well everyone.

Awesome trip report! As someone who loves conductor announcements, I approve of you putting a transcription of them in the captions! As for the Venture seats, I find them perfect for trips of any length. I’ve taken 8-hour trips on the Lincoln Service Missouri River Runner between Jefferson City and Chicago and the seats are just fine for me.

Thanks! I know most people online tend to dislike the venture seats because they replaced the superliners on some routes, so they were used to long distance seats on regional routes and see the venture's thinner seats with less legroom as a downgrade.

Great vid! I have taken this route a few times and have never heard a conductor spiel that informative. I wish it every trip was like that (or at least will be from now on). As for the ventures, I personally prefer the horizon car seats but i feel the venture seats aren’t too bad. I don’t think they’re too uncomfortable for trips that short in length. I love the design and accesibilty of the ventures and it will be nice to see a complete fleet in the future.

Thanks Jodan, I like the vibe the horizon cars give but I like how open the Ventures feel too. I know the Venture Cafes are rolling out on a lot of the Midwest routes, so full sets of Ventures aren't too far away on the Wolverine and Blue Water.

@seatripreports I don't think they operate ventures put there. Are you sure it wasn't a talgo set or horizon?

@@seatripreportsI guarantee you didn't ride a Venture car outside of the Midwest or California or Florida or Eastern Canada.
