Great idea to fold up the roost to make it easy to clean the floor. I have learned so many unique tricks and hints to make things easier!

I hope you will consider some type of "escape mechanism" for that gate latch. Once you are inside the stall and close the door, it does not appear to have a way to unlock the door from the inside. I hope you get some chickens soon, so we can see more of Nancy tending to her flock.

Also, it is a good idea to have the feeder & water containers up off the floor about up to the chicken breast or neck...that keeps their feet out of the feed & water to keep it clean! I don't know why (probably to scratch), but they need to have their feet in everything!!!!! Just something for you to think about. The shavings will keep the chicken odor down, keep the poo from getting all over your shoes/boots & easier to clean up! What a great setup you have! Everyone's dream!!!!!

You might want to consider putting some catch bins with 1 inch wire on top under the roosts so you can catch the manure and clean less frequently

YOU CLEVER, CLEVER MAN!!! Making the roost able to fold up out of the way to clean the floor! You just keep amazing me with your well-planned designs! Nothing like an obstacle-free floor to get thorough cleaning done! I'll bet there are viewers out there right now trying how to figure out how to hinge their kitchen tables, desks, sofas, and beds! Since the first video of yours that I viewed, I've wanted to copy what you've done. If I had a large property, I'd follow your lead step-by-step, and I'd post little signs around my place giving you credit (because it's due) and promoting your channel. You are teaching people not only how to do what you've done, but also teaching techniques that people can apply differently elsewhere. You are simply awesome. Blessings on you, Nancy, Bing Bing, and everyone you love!

Hollis, I have that same water container but ruined it by adding Apple Cider Vinegar to their water as it is so good for their gut. So if you ever need to give them a week of Apple Cider Vinegar treatment, be sure to have a large plastic water container. Remember my friend: We CAN learn life lessons by OBEDIENCE, we MAY learn life lessons through EXPERIENCE, but we surely WILL learn life lessons through SUFFERING. I am learning in South Louisiana.

That waterer looks like mine and I don’t think it will hold up to being hung from the handle. The handle is not attached all that strongly and the top of the waterer is only connected to the bottom with a small tab of metal that passes under a pin. If it’s a different kind then I am all wet :)
