Lyrics:
I need your body
I got to have your body
You whisper my name and I feel my heart
Beat like it's never gonna stop
I lose all self control and feel it start
Your love takes me right to the top
And the wind cries out
Out your name to me
And I feel no shame
Feeling this way
I need your body
I got to have your body
Close to me
Such a temptation
A burning new sensation's
Flowing through me
I want you close to me
You make me feel like we're the only ones
Who've ever been in love before
These feelings burn inside me night and day
You keep me reaching out for more
And the wind cries out
Out your name to me
And I feel no shame
Feeling this way
I need your body
I got to have your body
Close to me
Such a temptation
A burning new sensation
Flowing through me
I need you close to me
And the wind, cries out
Out your name, to me
And I feel, no shame
Feeling this way
I need your body
“I Need Your Body” appears on the album Strong as Steel.

Wow, this sensational song brings back fond memories of my High School years. I used to love listening to this power-house dance track and I still do in 2024! Yes, it is that magnificent and very groovy. I'm happy that it never lost its soul and rhythm so outstanding work Tina, love you girl! 💖💖💖😍❤🔥
It’s absolutely criminal that the world acts as though this song doesn’t exist. It ranks right up there with Tina’s very best work. Absolute banger in every way.
Absolutely banger is a understatement guaranteed!✈️
She should have moved to the US or UK if she was serious about singing. I didn't even know who she was until a year ago. This song would have gotten her foot in the door. Should blame her management for not making her international.
@@AnastasiaLUVSU The book explains everything. I remember her in the States. But when she suddenly disappeared I was heartbroken. 😢 It was the blasted music industry that is toxic. Tina was on the verge of a burnout.
It's 34 years old. It's had its heyday. We don't pursue all the older tunes. Some we stick with. Too much passion for a lot of the older audience.
Perfectly crafted Pop song performed brilliantly by one of the great Australian female vocalists of all.
THIS SONG WAS, IS, AND WILL CONTINUE TO ALWAYS BE 100% FUCKING AMAZING
Adem Ali agree
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THIS IS FUCKING FIRE
australian pop masterpiece 🤟
@@sconzilius glad to be a Aussie
I fucking agree
I forgot how great this was. I'm glad I listened to it again. Will add to my playlist
Tina Arena debut, love it ❤️🇦🇺
The 17th best song of 1990.
How strong is her voice? Tina Arena...Awesome!
WELL.. let's be real
She's a Soprano
and
She's been doing this since Young Talent Time
I mean.. Yeah
Tremendous respect for Tinas body of work and her professional ethic. One of our greatest exports, so underrated, what a talent and heaps of integrity.
All Tina Arena songs are 💯 !!!!! Love her!
love Tina she sure can sing, when I was 16 everyone told me I looked so much like her ,I am in my 50's now, lol , such a compliment I only really appreciate such a compliment now,as I am old lol
This is more than a song, it’s a masterpiece
haha, i literally just watched Gina Riley's hilarious take on this on Fast Forward (I'm re-watching the whole series), which is what brought me here. Too funny. No disrespect to Tina, I love her and her amazing voice. This is but only one of the many awesome tracks from this incredibly talented woman. Love you Tina!
She looks so Italian. Very beautiful woman. Great song !!
Well her parents are Sicilian so perhaps that explains it.......
@JulieFennell-ed1ioShe's still Italian woman.
@@AnastasiaLUVSUher background is Italian she's Australian born

Cara Tina ancora abbiamo bisogno del tuo talento meraviglioso Bravvissima👏
I've got a gig next week I'm dancing at a nightclub. Practicing my moves too this . Good for my routine . Tina Arena fantastic Voice .
The old Regent Theatre - Collins Street, Melbourne. Hard to believe it was disused and listed for demolition when this video was being shot. Mighta been this clip that saved it! Go Tina!
Was it beyond repair , falling to pieces ?
No. Not then. It was basically on the list of structures thought to be "past their time", and no longer considered a viable venue to stage live theatre shows. It was decommissioned and wasn't being maintained, so this video would have cost next to nothing to make...
Yet, you look at those gorgeous balconies and classic, flowing designs and wonder how the hell any fool could've considered tearing it down.
Today - as it has been for more than two decades - it is a thriving entertainment complex. AND, someone had the decent sense to Heritage-List her...
So she ain't goin' anywhere!!!
What a voice! 😍❤️
The best song she ever sang - if she stuck to this sort of singing she would have been extremely successful.
Tina Arena still went on to have a very successful singing career
She was very successful
It's not her style but I think you're probably right.
I think selling 10 million albums all over the world isn't a bad feat. Even if she only was paid $1 an album sold she's done very well. There's other incomes on top of that too. I'd call that extremely successful. You don't have to be a household name to measure success.
I was in high school when this first came out, we all thought she was hot and were obsessed with her curves. Very catchy song too, most probably the best song that she's ever released IMO.
I need her body too... in the sense that I wish I could have a body like hers!!!
She easily could’ve sold over 100 million albums worldwide. She only hit the US top 40 once in 1994 with Chains which peaked at only number 39. She could’ve been Australia’s Madonna for sure as Tina has a fabulous and elegant voice along with an electrifying stage presence.
But, we have to agree: Tina's vocal range and control are way more on point than Madonna's. Tina was a born, natural singer. Madonna needed a bit of tweaking after her career took off.
Blame her management. She easily could have done well here. But with Mariah Carey premiering the same year she would have ate Tinas Lunch. Sorry. Not very fair to go against an American powerhouse like Mariah Carey in her prime.
Australia's Madonna??? Possibly - in terms of potential sales. But, do you wanna compare their voices? Madonna was never a natural singer. She had to take vocal coaching. Tina was a born natural. Sorry, but Tina shits all over Madge here.
@@scottbrandts610 Most singers take vocal lessons and coaching. Even Mariah Carey from her opera singer Mother.
Crap.. I'm Also forgetting Whitney Houston who also took lessons from her mother who also sung. To be honest I don't know when would have been the right time to debut Tina here in the US because she would be up against alot. Perhaps her team knew this and chose not to bring her over.
@@AnastasiaLUVSUI don't think it just that. Alot was put on Tina. Too much pressure and toxicity. Tina was on the verge of being burned out. 😞
i love this girl she got the style !

Kylie was huge with Australian music but Tina arena damn what a voice
Tina could actually sing, Kylie had a better marketing team! 😮
My favourite Tina song of all. this would win any contest with the Minogues :D

Mmm Bob you're one sexy fucker😍
The recession we had to have
still an absolutely amazing song!
I think I first heard the song strong as steel in the Canberra comic shop above the bus exchange in civic when the single was first released.
Unrivalled guaranteed!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️✈️

The best looking Australian singer with a very curvy body

This song so awesome Tina is very beautiful I have the hot for Tina arena
this is still excellent love it,,she performed this at Mardi Gra/// blew the roof off
She’s one of the best in this style of music! Total professionalism!
Love this song!!! ❤
Loved Gina Riley’s dead on parody of this. Filmed at the same place too
I discovered this song through Gina Riley's parody. She's a comedic genius
Ripe for it though
Is it a theatre in Melbourne?
@@paulwilson9281 Absolutely! That's the Regent Theatre, Collins Street.
CLASSIC mems!!! LOL SO funny BUT listen to that voice!! She sure shocked us all with THIS ONE!😆😆
Coming to just dance 2024 tina slay
Love the song
Dear gorgeous Tina I'm guessing that might be Lucio dancing as I overheard him talking about this song but came in half way when he said he was in it. And behold it looks like him. He's on leave for a week but when he gets back I'm gonna tell him how beautifully he moves and squeeze him till Tina dust sprinkles on my head
Tina soon changed from dance songs to ballads , this was a kylie/ melissa sound that I preferred.
very gloria estefan feel to it
great song, great video.
Reminds me of Dr Beat
So right like Martika and Gloria Estefan
absolute banger
im related to her..share same great grandparents...her grandmother and my grandfather are siblings...weve never met....my career more than hers wouldnt allow it
This song is bit funny now bt still great sound, that energy sound is still there it gives me energy love it and love Tina
Is it funny, because of the Gina Riley parody from Fast Forward?
This is such an awesome clip.
what a cool 80s song, love it
90's ;)
@@TMCremixes Recorded in 1988.
Yeah but that doesn't make it an 80's song. That's defined by release date, or in some cases chart date. This was released in 1990 and charted in 1990 / 1991.
@@TMCremixes It's still an 80's song. As it was created and completed in the 80s.
They could have released the song in 2020 and it would still be an 80's song. This argument is completely fucking stupid because the early 90s was just an extension of the 80s anyways. And lol at liking your own comment. People who do that shit are pathetic. Not even 10 minutes and you already have a mysterious like under this 6 year old post. Hahaha.
@@TMCremixes Release dates and chart dates are irrelevant if they are after the recording date. This song is absolutely an 80s song, especially its instrumentation.
Wao, de quoi te souviens-tu et qu'est-ce que ça a fait. Merci Debbie.
They played this at the Sydney (Gay) Mardi Gras recently. Tina may want to forget this song, but it was appropriate for the mardi gras march. The Gina Riley (Fast Forward) parody of this song is priceless!
She has embraced the song again and regularly sings it with pride live now. She even sells t-shirts with 'I need your body' printed on them at her live gigs
@@williamgroth4686 Ha yes love it, she hated it for a while, but I remember the first time I heard it, it was on tv & I was on the phone at the time & I had to stop the conversation at the time because of her brilliant voice I had to keep listening
Since when did Australians have a Mardi Gras? Please call it something else. That was already taken by the Americans.
@AnastasiaLUVSU ummm, Mardi Gras is French, mate. It means Fat Tuesday, also known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Tuesday. It occurs before the Catholic holy day known asAsh Wednesday prior to the commencement of Lent. A time of feasting before fasting.
There's nostalgia for you, for both of us🌹 wow cobwebs🤭 xx :)❤
Tina was not tiny anymore.i wanted her close to me.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ive done some serious study on this song. Tina still does it for me

I need yours too Tina
As much as she hateddoing this gurrrrl it's iconic suck it up you're a legend
They wanted to demolish this building??? Tell me it’s still standing. Gorgeous architecture.
Yes, the Regent Theatre is still standing and going strong after being restored in 1996. Big shows/ musicals are performed there, as with several other theatres in Melbourne. 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' is currently showing at Regent Theatre (under Covid restrictions). :-)

I love you so much Tina, I love your music, so much. I need to have a Mentor, for my music, I was wondering, if you would like to be a Mentor for me.
I like Tina arena dance music better than her love songs such as I'm in chains.
What was song Gina Riley did was it called and where's this location
Australia and "I got this body"
mantaf ....!
Sounds like the standard dance-pop releases of the late 1980s/early 1990s (Martika, Paula Abdul, Rick Astley and the like). Her subsequent work was much better.
No it wasn't.
@@saintpauli7566 Yes it was. Which of her albums after this, did you not like?
The perfect 1989 pop song

She is certainly not tiny anymore.
All ozi at her best then
Was that Neville Bartos in the last scene?
Neville bloody bartos
Tina is way more beautiful now than back then. Glad she turned away from this style.
Did anyone ever see The Fast Forward parody to this song? Gina Riley did the parody and it was kind of funny haha
I think it was called Ï've got this body" or something like that. It was great, but I also remember dancing to this song in the early 90s at clubs and loving it. I still do (even though Tina might be a bit embarrassed by it).
Sexy Masseur I did. fucken funny
Charlton Nguyen I did
I even sing the words if I hear this...
YEEEESSSSSSS! Comedy GOLD!!!!!
Ah 90s music videos...
italian aussie...you cant equal that!
Umm.. I'm sure a literal Italian from anywhere could. Not sure what her being born in Australia has to do with anything.

Your Body is not all I want....
I Want All of you Always,
Robby
Check out the version on UA-cam song by David Thibault, a young French Canadian singer. I like his better. It's slower and more romantic.
I prefer Gina Riley's pisstake of this song.
Tina Arena is simply young, ultra-sexy, hot and seductive in this video. But her vocal quality is still there, no matter what song tempo she throws at. I think she's in her early 20s here in this video sometime 1992 or 1993. If her music landed here in the Philippines early during this time, no doubt, she may have been popular before her 'Burn' days in 1997. She may be even sexier than the likes of Sabrina Salermo or Samantha Fox for that matter.
Amazing song but not her debut.
Sounds like a Madonna song
10/10 song, clip she's not comfortable with inundo
When tiny Tina became not so tiny
