- this seems to have dissapeared and I thought it was a shame as its rather good so im uploading it. if you want to purchase this concert you can buy it on a dvd called dream ticket it also has elton live at ephesus and elton at the royal opera house including elton in four decades excellent dvd that must be watched!
I don't know why this wasn't a bigger hit. it's one of my top 20 Elton John songs. GREAT song

"Minor" hit in Elton's world...got to #28, many artists out there would love to crack the Top 40 as much as he did. Underappreciated song and album...both are among my favorites!

Those more "less known" songs are the gems of his performances. You should feel privileged to have heard such rare performances. He is truly magical.

This was released back in my school days. Always been a big fan of this song, it is one of my favourites from him. Brings back some great memories for me as well. It reached #19 in my country (Australia), not too bad I guess.

Phenomenal Concert. The Guitar Work by Davey Johnstone and John Jorgenson is fabulous. John Jorgenson's versatility as a musician is incredible including a Sax Solo, Steel Guitar and Mandolin.

I'm not a huge fan either, but that was pretty darn good. I think his voice sound richer or deeper. He IS one talented man, I'll give him that & what a career!

i agree with you edward that it was definitely the best and thanks for sharing this video, By the looks of the crowd Sir Elton had there, they looked like they were enjoying it as much as I did.
Elton prioritized charity work when this came out and did not put any effort into its promotion ... he didn't even film a proper video clip, and that's why the song underperformed. But it's one of his all time best and should absolutely be a part of his live sets!

This video is from a DVD box set entitled "elton john: dream ticket." It was released in approximately December 2004 or January 2005 or somewhere in that ballpark. It was only for sale at Best Buy. It's excellent.

Dont understand why this was a bigger hit. Its a classic.
I was never sure as to why Elton referred to this song as a "minor" hit. I remember it being fairly popular on Australian radio around '91/'92... Seemed to get a reasonable amount of airplay.

Someone mentioned in an earlier post, that he's lost his touch on the piano. Personally, I think it sounds better than ever. Sure, his voice has changed quite a bit over the years, especially due to the surgery, but hey, he still kick's ass on the piano and probably always will.

The MAJOR reason E.J. doesn't consider this to be a MAJOR hit instead of a MINOR hit is because it only grossed 99 MILLION...instead of 100 MILLION...therefore MONEY talks...go figure! p.s. just guessing this is the reason...I think it's a MAJOR hit to my HEART and that is what really counts...Thank you Sir ELTON JOHN!

Well, it SHOULD have been a major hit, both in the US & the UK. Still, at least it got some recogintion. It deserves it, as this is my favourite song from SLEEPING WITH THE PAST. And with stiff competition from "Healing Hands," "Blue Avenue" "Durban Deep" and the title track, is no small feat! =D
Great artist, but hasn't it taken him a long time to get 'his' hair right? The possum on his head during this show was just not making it for him. Seems to have have it right these days though. However as I said great artist, it's easy to forget how many great songs he has produced. Thanks for posting what should have been a huge hit.
