I think you were fair. I appreciate you putting in the time and giving us your honest review. We all have different expectations and you are entitled to have your opinions
I'm glad you gave them a second chance. My wallet appreciates it. While I just had to have them when I first saw them, I am not going to spend the money. The concept is so beautiful! I'm very disappointed but I too love her other palettes and I'll just need to move on😢
Thank you for the "second chance". It helped me make an informed decision. Im not getting the rose palette if it takes so long to build up the color. You rock, i love you!!
Thank you for giving them a second chance. Sometimes is necessary to experiment a bit more with makeup until you find the right way. In this case I think the palettes are not worth the money. The mattes are so light and most of the shimmers so sheer that end up looking the same. Looking forward to see the makeup you wear in the intro, so beautiful!
You gave them your best shot!! Lol! Angela bright did a video with the colourpop mint to be vs the Huda one.. she had a super hard time building it up too. These are lovely in theory, but pretty much everyone says the shimmer shades all end up looking the same as each other once they are applied. Sometimes we get duds!
Patty Alonso I hope you do! Whenever I need some ideas on for an eyeshadow look, it’s your channel.. and her channel! If both of you had a hard time with the Huda palettes, then I most certainly would as well! Ps, why spend $29 when we can scoop up a colourpop one and get a bolder look for less $?
Someone would have to have an incredible amount of patience & time to use these palettes! lol It's a shame... they are so pretty! I really wanted to get the Rose one. When you pay for a prestige brand I feel like you are paying for the convenience of the shadow applying fast. So totally disappointing 😕
So I recently picked up all three pastels for $12 each on Boxycharms pop up and I was definitely disappointed with the color payoff and the shimmers are all the same. I don’t really know what to do with them but they are pretty if you just want a pale wash of color but I do t know when I’ll need it.
Oooo very curious to see how this goes. The idea behind the palettes are so pretty, I wish they were more well received. I Hope you're doing well, your videos are always so great!
I know that all palettes should perform with any eye primer for the most part, but try a different eye primer. That happened w me and the Alamar palettes. I initially used Tarte Shape Tape concealer to prime, and it look disgusting at the end of the day. I’m now live in a dry climate state so I can’t even blame it on the humidity. Lol Anyway, just a suggestion. 🙂
I have the rose one. Yes, i can make it work. But! it's 2020! I don't want to pay my hard earned money to a makeup company and then try hard to make their shadows work. They are making a product and they have to make sure that their product is consumer friendly. Look at promo for rose palette! That pink shadow on her is isn't even from rose palette. I would love to see your spring palettes!
Hi Patty! Can you please do a review and tutorials on Lancome's new makeup collection with famous Vogue photographers Mert and Marcus, called the After Dark collection? It's available now on Bloomingdales and the Lancome site! I've only seen few reviews and tutorials here, and I would love to see your take on this beautiful collection! :)
I'm glad you gave them a second chance, now I know that I won't buy them. I've noticed that the mercury retrograde palette has some pastel mint, lilac e rose tones, are any of those colours similar to the eyeshadows you can find in these little palettes? In both videos about pastel obsessions collection, you mentioned the melted shadows, have you ever tried them? If so, what do you think? Thank you for keeping me company during this quarantine (I live in Florence so this is day 20 for me) 😘
I hope you are staying safe! I have tried them but I don’t own them. I keep seeing them being used on Instagram to achieve richly pigmented mint looks. ♥️♥️
One-Eyed Patty 😂 but seriously though, these palettes were so promising and the fact they didn't deliver is disappointing. I have already duped them with fewer shades within my collection, so my wallet thanks you!
You’re not alone!! Just watch this video comparing the huda pastel with the colourpop mint to be and the colourpop is by far better pigmented and so much more affordable. I’ll insert the link in case you want to watch it. ua-cam.com/video/po7dowl1bjk/v-deo.html And btw thank you for trying again cause you stopped me from buying them ever! 💜💜
Before i start, i commented this on the other video, because you hadn’t work these eye shadows with the correct method, so i’m just gonna paste this comment here, juste in case it can help other people to work with pastel : « These palets don’t work well on this video. The fact is that there are pastel, so they never gonna perform and be as intense as « normal » eye shadows, if you want them to be at their best, you should work them on a white base, to make them pop a lot more! but again, there are pastel, so it’s not gonna be super vibrant, just because pastels, even pigmented one, are always more « sweet » colors. Plus you should work them by putting them with a flat brush, and then blend them. Because the fact that it’s not really intense, if you apply them with a blending brush as usual, it would not work great. But still thank you for the video ! 🥰 ps : english is not my first language so sorry if there are mistakes in my comment » Here, working with almost a white base make the eye shadows pop a lot more !! If you want them to be more intense, pack them on your lid and then blend them. Your eye look, looks waaaaaaay more better in this video than in the other one. Pastels are difficult to work with because they are not really intense even if they are pigmented, but once you have the right method it’s so beautiful ! ❤️❤️
if your interested, here the link of a french makeup artist that make those palets work (she used the P.Louise base for every look) : ua-cam.com/video/sa6E-B_ITbM/v-deo.html it’s french, and i don’t know if it’s translate in english, but however, with just watching the video i think it’s helpful :)
Pastels are hard to formulate, however, there are definitely better ones on the market. Shroud Cosmetics, Menagerie Cosmetics and Sugarpill all have very vibrant pastels. I didn't even need a white base with Shroud's shadows. On the eye they looked exactly like they do in the pan. They're insanely pigmented. Sydney Grace & Colourpop also have some great pastels. Huda really dropped the ball on these. The market is way too saturated to release mediocre palettes.
AlcideIzMine i’m not saying those palets are great, but obviously if you take a pastel pink, it can’t be as bright as a vivid pink! it’s just normal. i also think that there are not really good, you can’t barely see them without a base, but i still think that if you work with pastels you should put a white base juste to make them pop, and that for any pastels of any brand :) of course there are pastels out there that show up even without a base but it’s better with a white one :) that’s what i’m saying plus, i’m not a really big fan of this brand, so i wouldn’t recommend those palets to anyone, when you see the price, the amount of shadows, and the quality :)
Pastels are notoriously difficult. So I knew the pastel shades would be a challenge. But her neutral mattes are quite nice as are her shimmers. So I figured seeing that so much of these palettes are neutrals and shimmer it must be good. If the few pastels are not great, who cares??!! Ok. Big mistake. How the hell did she get these so wrong? And the packaging? Looks pretty on screen but it’s pretty crappy close up. Hard to open and doesn’t shut properly. I used to love Huda but these, the tacky lash glue and that stupid liquid liner has me feeling very disappointed

Me too they are so visually pleasing! If only they performed as good as they look!
Thank you for the "second chance". It helped me make an informed decision. Im not getting the rose palette if it takes so long to build up the color. You rock, i love you!!

Thank you! I just uploaded my spring favorites which is the makeup look I am wearing in this video! ❤️
Omg the green looked beautiful on camera but I’ll take your advice and save my $$$..
Thank you for these review!! I always saw first your videos to decide if I going to buy one palette

Thanks hun I Will not buy this collection but I still love her please do more makeup tutorial using huda beauty products what you love
I love pink what palate do you recommend that I can use for pink eyeshadows.
I love her Nude Obsessions Light! It’s Beautiful and Works Amazingly! ♥️♥️♥️
Oooo very curious to see how this goes. The idea behind the palettes are so pretty, I wish they were more well received. I Hope you're doing well, your videos are always so great!
All the shades look so good on the pan I wish it would translate on the eyes ☹️
I enjoy these but I’m also very fair. I also always set my eyeshadow base.

Unfortunately I’ve tried them different ways and still can’t make them work how I wish they would. ♥️
Patty Alonso ok ok. They look so pretty. I’m glad I saw your video before buying them. ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks! I am going for vibrant bright rather than pastel this spring! 😉 The Spring Faves Video is up! ❤️

❤️
I think colourpop killed it with their pastels plus they are so affordable 👌❤❤
I want to try those!
I have lilac you alot palette and love it so much 👌💜💜💜
Thank you so much for doing this again! 💖 I'm definitely not buying them and I feel good about that 🤭
No problem! I needed to convince myself too!
Oh thank god I saw this. I almost bought the whole PR collection today for $150. It’s a great deal but not for something that doesn’t work. 😅
One-Eyed Patty 😂 but seriously though, these palettes were so promising and the fact they didn't deliver is disappointing. I have already duped them with fewer shades within my collection, so my wallet thanks you!
Awesome! Thank you! ❤️❤️
They are pastels so they are meant to be not as vibrant but I get it too I want the pop not the pastel dream lol love all 3 looks xoxox
Thank you! ❤️

How depressing, I’m so disgusted for you. Huda missed the mark with this collection, I’m definitely passing! Thank you for your reviews on this.
😂😂 so sad!
Sigma brushes are way better. Brushes make a difference. Pastels are harder to work with.
I tried my sigma brushes too... they did the same
Still not buying them at all.
❤️❤️
