Diane I love your croissant bees! It's so nice knowing that I have one of your video's to look forward to every day you do very well to keep it going. Thank you.x
Thank you so much! So glad you're enjoying the constant stream of paintings! It's bringing a lot of joy into my life too, especially when I read such lovely comments! xx
I love the combination of both structure and looseness - the composition really captures the look of a patch of pansies in a way that I hadn't considered. I'm really looking forward to trying this!
Thanks Kim, and I really appreciate your insights. I too love the way the line brings lightness as well as strength to the painting - perhaps it works partly because the line means you can avoid overworking the colours as we are all prone to do in an effort to achieve structure. Thanks and happy painting!
Love the pansy these turned out brilliant! I have 5 flower boxes that line the front porch of my 100 year old house and these are my favorite things to put into them every year. The show of colors brightens up any day. Which you did with the painting!
My 294 th.very nice activity to paint a delicate set of pansies ,butterflies and bomblebees to let your mind think it's a lovely sunny day. 😂 Its good to leave reality for a precious me time. Thanks 😊wim
Thank you so much Wim 😀 I can hardly believe you’re nearly up to 300 - do you feel that your painting has improved after all this practice? I can’t imagine it hasn’t! Sending love Diane xxx
This is lovely! Pansies have such sweet faces! I will try this and hope to be able to accomplish some of it! Truly a sweet watercolor!! Thank you for sharing this! 💐
Look forward to your videos each day. You're so talented and explain so well what you're showing. Croissant bees, that was funny. Keep up the great work!
I love that this is a quick and easy painting. Your choice of colors are great. I’m going to paint this in my sketchbook...a shorter version. Referring to the shape of your bees as croissants...that’s perfect! I’ll be thinking croissants as I draw them now!! I find I’m putting bees in all my florals now...they seem to put that extra little touch to my painting. Thank so much for sharing.
Hi, thanks so much for your lovely comment! I will reply to your other comments tomorrow, but I didn’t have time today! Isn’t that a sweet idea to think of them as croissants! I hope Englehard noticed his shout out! Have fun painting them tomorrow - they certainly are an easy addition to any little floral!
Diane, what a great way to start my Sunday! I just turned on my computer hoping there would be another video from you. I was so happy to see this! I fetched my sketchbook and did this tutorial as I watched it. Now I'm painting it and waiting for it to dry. I have a birthday lunch to attend later today and I'm going to give this painting to her instead of a card. Your tutorials are so gorgeous and your instructions are so easy to follow. Thank you for making me look good! - One more thing, I've been painting with my sister-in-law weekly, and we both sat down together to do your geranium tutorial. They turned out beautifully!
Hi Carolyn, lovely to hear from you! I hope your lunch was fun and what a lovely idea to give your friend a painting, I'm honoured to be your inspiration! So pleased that you enjoy watching me paint and that you find it helpful! And how lovely that you paint with your sister in law - great choice to do the geraniums, such forgiving plants! Take care and happy painting! x
@@DianeAntoneStudio Diane, thank you for your reply. You should have seen their faces when they saw the painting. You seriously make me look so good! I was sure to mention your name to them and encouraged them to check out your channel. I came home from the lovely birthday lunch and missed the painting I gave away as the gift (true gift giving) so I started a new one for myself. Thank you again, Diane. Can't wait to see what's in store this week on your channel.
Wonderful! Welcome Irene, I hope you find inspiration in the new medium - I painted in oil too, but find watercolour more immediately gratifying because of the speed - and ease - of application. Oil is great too, though!
Pansies have always been my favorite flower....when I was really little, I remember my mom showing me that inside every pansy there's a tiny little dutch girl. It made me think that that's what fairies looked like, so I always thought they came from pansies. Go ahead, look inside one. You'll smile.
Hi Diane, I have two questions: 1. why don't you draw with pencil? Does it have something to do with the technique? It says "ink" there... Is that the reason? Or stronger contours? 2. when you fix your sheets with the paper tape on the plywood, does the tape come off the wooden base without any problems?
Hi Sylvia, I have two answers! 1.I do draw with pencil, but this is pen and ink technique so that’s why I’m drawing with a pen! 2.yes, the paper comes off of the board quite easily, although sometimes it needs a little help with some water. Hope you enjoyed the video! Looking forward to receiving your parcel! There will be one coming your way soon!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Oh, thank you so much for your quick reply. I didn't notice right away, I was completely absorbed in "The Night Train From Cambridge". The flood of colours is overwhelming! The images are so intense and fast-paced, they captivate me, overwhelm me and simply sweep me away. Fantastic. And yes, I enjoy every one of your videos. Just knowing that there is a new one every day is pure joy and surprise. Unfortunately I don't always have the time to watch everything, I'm very behind. I would love to delve into it and try each one. But at the moment the conditions here don't suit me, I don't have a nice place for it. But that will come in time 😃
Bumblebees as croissant with wings *LOL* I'll never get that out of my head now 😍🤩😂🤣
I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!! Engelhard has something to answer for!
Diane, you are so good at teaching, effortlessly painting and explaining. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Loved your pansies, such happy little flowers !

Woke up to this lovely water colour, new medium for me as I work with oil🖌️🎨

The first pansy that flowers this year will be inspected for Dutch girls! I’m sure you’re right! Thanks for reminding me of that story!
molto bello!
grazie molto!
I like the pen n wash. Oops kind of fiddled too much. Go figure 😆
I saw your pansies on insta and they are pretty! Your bees are really cute too!!!!
