My take on this beautiful song & video: it's about the passing of a beloved pet - the back and forth we go thru with that animal towards the end - and our pet's innate 'knowing' that it's their time, despite our bond, & that it needs to go forward & on into the next experience.. ♡
Here's my interpretation of the video. The girl's bunny plushie represents her childhood innocence. Someone/something tries to steal it from her. I personally think it's a reference to se*ual abuse but it could be any other traumatic event. The angels lead the girl to something which seems to be inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo's artwork Four Seasons ("Each season represented characteristics of the stages of life from youth to maturity.") So, I think it's about childhood trauma and growing up.
Both as a Child and Family Services Director AND thrive-er through family sexual abuse; I not only agree with your interpretation but applaud you for bringing up a subject almost totally taboo in our "American Haze." Childhood trauma does indeed stay with you through your life (see the Kaiser Permanente A.C.E.S. study). Yet, we have hope. We have others to help us stare it down. We have the strength within us to take a monster and remake it as a mouse. And above all we have LOVE in its many Glorious forms. Love to YOU for such an excellent breakdown. I love this 🎶 music! It’s been running through my mind four day. Back to Oz… it reminds me of reading this book in the cupboard with my sister in the 80’s. Full page colour photos of the second movie ‘back to Oz’ with the wicked lady with all the heads on the shelves that she could put on.

It’s very rare for me to listen to anything after the year 2000 but this fuckin blew me away, sounds like a song from the late 60s to early 70s!! The video reminded me of the yellow submarine cartoon. Amazing song, will be on replay for week and you have a new fan.
