Fun fact. Dormammu killed Strange at least 1000 times before yielding. Strange also developed his abilities further while battling him so many times.
I read somewhere that the director (or writer?) said that Strange was actually in the time loop for hundreds of years and literally became a master during that time
And Benjamin cumberbach played doramomu too
Benedict Cumberbatch

Apparently when asked if they were ok with people seeing their car crash in the movie, a representative for Lamborghini told Marvel that it was actually positive publicity, because the fact that Strange survived that terrible crash shows how safe their cars are. I think it was also a condition that the crash be the driver's fault.
To clarify the Sanctum and Sorcerers not working with Avengers, they usually specialize in alternate dimension/magic related threats. Tony with Ultron tried to protect from physical threats.
i mean they did clarify that in the movie, but apparently he did not pay attention to the dialogues lol
The power from the Dark Dimension only keep the Ancient One from aging. She can still be killed.
True!
22:19 A photographic memory is probably less spectacular in real life than it is in stories. The coolest real-world memory ability that I know of belongs to actress Marilu Henner, from the TV Show “Taxi.” She doesn’t have a “photographic” memory, but she has what might be called “perfect” memory. She can recall details from just about every day of her life - you name a day, she can tell you what day of the week it was and what she did on that day.
It's cool in the real word because you can get an MD and pHD at the same time like strange brodie
@@isaiahlewis7807 but also you keep every terrible thing that has ever happened to you. movies only tend to show the positive side.
@@Elipson52008 We rarely ever lose all our terrible memories, because they were big moments in our lives, and they shaped our clay, so your point is moot. So no, in reality it doesn't matter if you remember all the bad things you've went through, because without photographic memory, you'd still have remembered it anyway, nothing changes.
@@user-xr3ul2xc1lYes, we would still remember that an event happened, but the details would be all fuzzy. with photographic memory you would remember every single minute thing.
The Ancient One drawing power from the dark dimension wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I and everyone else agree, but Dr Strange mentioning it was pointing out the hypocrisy of the Ancient One condemning the dark dimension but benefiting from it at the same time
That’s why Kaecillius called her “hypocrite” in the opening scene. Because the spells she was casting were impossible to do without access to the Dark Dimension for power. She tipped her hand to inform him he was up against limitless power and endurance, so then he started making aether-knives and swords to kill her physically.
The best bit of acting in the movie is where Strange confronts the Ancient about her connection to the dark dimension.
Scott Derrickson directed this movie. He specializes in the horror genre. So there were certain elements that were deemed “scary” to an extent - from the extended hands to the tipped mop jolting Christine.
One of the things I liked the most about this movie was the all-star cast that we got - half of which is British.
Benedict Cumberbatch wanted to join the MCU, but he wanted a role that sparked his interest.
@25:10 those are the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak.
@27:24 Scott Adkins is a pro-level martial artist. He’s done Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing, Krav Maga, karate, aikido, and jujutsu among other styles.
Five down, one to go.
um... no. those are not the crimson bands of cyttorak. he uses the crimson bands in infinity war against +spoiler+ when theyre all trying to keep him bound and take off his gauntlet.
Tilda Swinton, 55yo at the time of this movie (2016) is a badass. She's been in lots of movies and she always comands POWAH. Love her
We need the marvel and breaking bad moreee🙏🏾!!!
I agree with the marvel but Breaking Bad is consistent ion know why you're conplaining about that
Bro we already have breaking bad it’s fine but marvel we need
@@astrocopjr8 not tryna complain just maybe 2 episode vids or some for breaking bad since it’s a pretty long series
So true
@@astrocopjr8 he started doing 6 day per episode but yeah i can be fine with this 3 day schedule he does js needs to stick with it
"She-hulk wtf is that"
We were asking the same thing bro we were asking the same thing
Yo im ded 😂😂😂
lmao best reaction
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The mystic shield protects the world from beings from other dimensions and realities, but not from other worlds in space. The Sorcerers safeguard the world only from supernatural threats.
opening scene. that was his head not his arms.
yea he realises after
He keeps saying "I can't even lie" yet does so a lot without even realising it. Thick as 💩
40:00 my genuine reaction to she hulk 💀💀
This my favorite solo MCU movie and Doctor Strange is my favorite Marvel hero. Benedict Cumberbatch the actor behind Strange is phenomenal as well.
The acting is phenomenal in this film. My favorite scene is after Strange defends the NY sanctum and he confronts the Ancient One and Mordo about her connection to the dark dimension. Mordo might have the best "secondary" character development in the MCU.
For time frame, I believe the start of the film is around the time of Iron Man 2. he spends about 5 years searching for a medical solution to restore his hands and a year in Kamar-taj
5 years, my God
Real talk, the cape is one of my favorite Avengers. Always coming in clutch. 😂
Although there is a constant plot hole in all marvel movies of "why did none of the other heros help with this one" for the sorcerers they are pretty much only concerned with interdimensional threats not aliens and terrorists and the like. Also why Ultron being earths first line of defense had nothing to do with them, Tony made Ultron to defend from alien invaders and the like not dimension swallowing beings or time paradoxes and stuff that threatens the fabric of reality itself.
The immortality they use is the one that protects you from dying of old age, that's the logical immortality that could exist in real life with technologies and evolution. However, the immortality which includes infinite regeneration for wounds is more relaying on magic.
lets go man
marvel movies yes pls. this is the best franchise
bring more of this
this movie is so sick. Strange is one my very favorite marvel characters ever. Hes so influential
Not after phase 4 happened😂
The definition of immortality is different from person to person. Here immortality means they can't die of natural causes, and they would stay at the same age forever. That doesn't not mean they can't die, because as you saw here, if someone stabs her she can die.
"Dang she got a slap head" bro im dead
I grew up on Dr. Strange comics so I was actually excited when I found out this was being made. It’s fun with cool concepts and the visuals are tremendous 🤘🏽
If you remeber back in the winter soldier on the rooftop when cap is asking that guy about "project insight" and the guy names off a few people who could be future threats to hydra, one of the names is stephen strange! Pretty cool stuff.
‘She hulk wtf is that’😂😂
The world doesn’t have nano stuff it’s Tony that does 😂
Lets gooo! Got to love Doctor Strange
Underrated movie
Dr. Strange is the reason why i fell in love with the MCU! Multiverse of Madness (2nd film) is a horror masterpiece!
I gotta ask how you felt about Doctor Strange MoM being more of an America vs Wanda movie than a Doctor Strange movie since I hated how little it felt like the movie was about Strange
A lot of people disagree but as someone who grew up with Sam Raimi' Evil Dead trilogy, I loved the campy, weird horror style he used with Doctor Strange 2. Completely understand why not everyone liked it but it totally worked for me.
@@izukumidoriya8600 Nah, it was squarely Strange vs Wanda. America was just sidekicking around and only focused on when it was relevant to Strange or Wanda's desires. But I hear you about Wanda being such a huge focus.
@@CrowTRobot
The reason I say it didn't feel like a Doctor Strange movie is because his story isn't the focus America learning to control her powers seems to be the main goal since the climax is her believing in herself and pulling full control out her ass
@@izukumidoriya8600you’re 1000% right
“she hulk? wtf is that?” you have no idea how spot on that reaction is
Just wait for Multiverse of Madness. Sam Saimi directed that one and he has quite a bit of horror accolades.
Doctor Strange is one of my top marvel movies
wish i was the one watching phase 3 for the first time 😭 enjoy it brudda
Chopped off his head fella not his arms haha
Don hating on mordo as much as i did watching this is so funny 😂
31:40 they didn’t say that drawing/draining power from the dark dimension gives you immortality, it gives you eternal life. At least that’s what Strange says when reading the book
Tony Stark did not have nano tech in that time periode, first later on
31:40 you're getting immortality and invincibility mixed up
Can’t wait for this channel to blow up fr you deserve it
The first doctor strange film was set after captain america civil war. Theres a hint to this when he is in his lamborghi and rhoades name is mentioned. This is because of his incident where he gets shot out of the sky.
19:33 Nah this got me 💀
The fact that our time is limited, is what make our lives more valuable... and what if u get bored?...
(36:48)
"that's what made him laugh?"
go back to (16:26), Wong hints to Strange that only people that work for him found him funny. at the end of the movie, Strange is now the boss, making Wong work for him, so yes, NOW he "finds" him funny.
Strange isn't Wong's boss. He's just the one made in charge of the NY Sanctum and only AFTER he makes Wong laugh. Wong is still his superior and later on, Strange's boss.
@@Elipson52008
at THIS point in time, strange is the one with the time stone, and effectivly, the Sorcerer Supreme, making him Wong's boss
@@eyallev no he's not. he never becomes the sorcerer supreme in the MCU at ANY point in time. Hes always been just the Protector of the New York Sanctum after the end of this movie. Being the Guardian of the time stone doesn't put him above all the other sorcerer's in position either. that's just another relic Stephen possesses.
Yes Star Wars will be sick to react to
Craziness of ER highly depends on where you live. Any ER I've ever been to was nothing at all like what you see on TV/movies. In a major city, yeah probably. More people = more chaos.
my honest reaction: she hulk? what the f is that 😂
We need more of these! 🔥🔥
Did u know Strange was capturred for atleast 5.000 Years in that time loop!
This movie is what I imagine an acid trip to be like.
40:00 “She hulk? Wtf is that?” Is probably the most refreshing thing I’ve ever heard
Kinda off topic I guess but the whole doctors not helping patients because it’ll hurt their reputation is unfortunately very true. My mother has some very complicated medical conditions afflicting her spine and I cannot tell you how many times specialists some of them even world renowned refused to see her as a patient let alone perform a surgery on her because it would damage their reputation. To be fair the surgery she may need does have a high mortality rate but it still doesn’t change that should my mother need this surgery we can’t even find a doctor willing to do it because of the reputation damage loosing a patient on the table brings. They simply say she is beyond their capabilities and you’d have to be insane to accept her as a patient.
immortal: can live forever, but can be killed.
invincible: can’t be killed, but could die of old age.
I think since Kaecilius also used power from the Dark Dimension in those icicle-looking things it would still kill her even though she's "immortal" via her Dark Dimension powers, kinda like subtracting a negative in a way, it just cancels out. I don't actually know though tbh, I'm just kind of speculating here.
Loki used the tesseract to open that portal inside the shield, that's why they couldn't detect it.
FINALLY BEEN WAITING FOR IT
We need more marvell 🙏
i been waiting for you to see this one
Fun side note: the text message he was responding to before the crash was in reference to Rhodey from when he feel in Civil War
Wong is one of my Favorites
When you’re strange, faces come out of the rain man
In winter soldier , they did mention stephen strange from hydra algorithm and at that time he wasnt dr strange.
HAHAHA!!! Don you got me laughing so damn hard thinking they chopped off the Librarian's arms? dude! They took his head clean off!!!!
Free hand means without a robot. I work in the operating room. Oh and every room we have music playing. The ER is different from the OR. Operations are scheduled. The ER is random emergencies.
Immortality doesnt not inherently mean your invulnerable to damage.
"she hulk? wtf is that?"
well said, THAT is the correct response.
Oh man! Hope you didn't miss that bit at the end. Conversation Strange had with Wong!
What most people miss, is the call doc strange got when he was in the car, was a spinal cord injury. It was rhodes from civil war when he fell from the sky.
movie was quit small, love that your starting Star Wars
“Oh damn she got slaphead” 💀
Don't worry about being confused by this. Even intelligent people were, so can't expect those of low intellect to be up to speed with the concepts.
Clinical immortality is living forever unless you are unalived. Functional immortality is not being able to die. She uses the dark dimension for clinical immortality
There are many different types of immortality but usually the one consistent thing about it is having the ability to live forevor
31:40
her Immortality is living forever, but she's not Invulnerable to damage.
I really like the direction of this movie, it have the most beautiful scenes in MCU, when Marvel CGI was good
They really rushed shit during Phase 4 and it shows. Wakanda Forever and Guardians 3 looked good though so maybe they'll get their shit figured out. 🤞
@@CrowTRobot let's have some hope
Immortality is to never die but eternal life is to live forever it’s vague but different
before watching spiderman homecoming, watch all three spiderman films from the 2000s and then two from 2012 and 2014 because they link to the mcu's storyline later on in the mcu, but are not actually part of it until then, so there will be no characters such as doctor strange, iron man, or captain america, since they are separate universes for now
It's idetic memory and you can't just gain it. Your born with it.
If Doctor Strange can reverse death with the time stone, why didn't he use it on the ancient one?
“She hulk wtf is that?” 🤣😂
love seeing your reactions to the mcu so far, just wait for the rest of it
An actual good marvel movie
just to explain how photographic memory works it isn't just a glance. They need to read the same way the rest of us need to but they remember the whole page whereas we remember just the parts that are important to us or a summary
40:00 Without even knowing he spill the truth she Hulk! Wtf is that 😂😂😂
"Great talent means nothing without training"
Yes
Glad to see you back with Marvel my man. Also amazing to hear you’re gonna do Star Wars too.
This movie takes place during age of ultron i think so the nanotechnology is either in full use or doesn't exist yet
You are born with a photographic memory. But most people born with it have other issues. Personality problems, severe autism, etc.
25:27 Springlock
this is my favorate marvel film
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT WATCH SHEHULK
Need marvel content consistently
idk if this help, but you can find a windows key for like $10 if you look enough. just to get rid of the activate windows watermark
He didnt chop off his arms but head
No, Doctors will always be there to help patients, never for their reputation. This one guy is just a character in a movie
I think immortality is better described as the inability to die due to time or other "natural" means but still means you can die through unnatural ones? Though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
28:25 bros inner roadman came out for a sec
oh god.... she hulk just intruded on a good reaction lol
The astral body is like the soul..
Btw in the beginning it was his head.., not his arms...
I recommend starting STAR WARS from episode 4! 1-3 are prequels, and spoil a lot of the big reveals from the OG 4-6. You also gain a lot by watching the first 3 after knowing what happens in 4-6. Yes, it's confusing I know.
