You're right, this is a happy song! I loved this as a teenager and still love it today. Queen explored all genres of music. This reminds me of Great Gadsby era. Then their is hard rock, soft rock, rock opera, rock jams, R&B, blues, songs that made you thing and some can make you cry. You name it Queen played it. Thanks for reviewing this one.
There are four songwriters in the group with different taste and style, but in more than 90% Freddie ´s songs is of course piano . They have in their catalogue literally the songs from every genre of the music
Both of you are joy to watch react. I am seeing aspects of Queen never seen before. These are four talented musicians that got their college degrees while creating music. Had many conflicts & disagreements but pushed through it all and endured to this day.
Another catchy song that proves Freddie's very eclectic musical taste again and shows his romantic side, he titled himself as a true romantic. The song was written about his relationship with David Minns, he was the muse.
Nice reaction! Freddie wrote the heavy rock riff section of Bohemian Rhapsody, Brian May wrote the solo. They all wrote songs, Freddie wrote 71 songs, Brian wrote 64 songs, Roger wrote 33 and John Deacon wrote 26 Queen songs. Good Old Fashion Lover Boy was a trend on Tik Tok for a while, more recently. Many people like this song because it is so catchy. This is a Freddie song. Generally people focus so much on Freddie's voice and showmanship, that they ignore everything else. It is great that you guys have recognized that Freddie was a great piano player or a musician, as well as a composer and a songwriter. The problem is also that Freddie Mercury also underrated his own piano playing, he did not think he was very good because he was not a classical concert pianist. You can still be very good at something despite not being technically the best. It often happens that more artistic music is not necessarily the best technically. Freddie was good in all of the different musical aspects.
Queen songs are never boring. Changes of style/melody within their songs constantly keep it interesting. All four are exceptional musicians. Have you listened to Freddie Mercury on piano in "Seven Seas of Rye"?
Personally, I have found, that listening to the studio version first - then listening/watching the video and live/stage performance - in this particular order; seems to work best, for a full prescription of a song and it's grouping towards the Band's meaning in it.
Freddie wrote ogre battle on guitar inc the heavy riff Also heavy riff on Bo Rap His songs Brian did the solo but not sure about the very early ones Freddie wrote all the other guitar parts on his songs Brian said he made him play in a way he wouldn't normally play
This version is not the same as the album version. It is either a new mix (using outtakes) or a completely different recording of the full song (IDK). BTW Roger Taylor sings in the bridge together with Brian May.
All four are members of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame individually as songwriters. John Deacon's Another One Bites the Dust was their most successful song in the US. Roger wrote Radio GaGa, huge in the UK, and Brian wrote Fat Bottomed Girls among many others. The whimsical songs are mostly Freddie. I'm not on Patreon so I know you have many requests but Dreamers Ball live in Paris 1979 is amazing!
Well he did ok with whimsical! Their first to chart, first hit, first no 1 uk, first US no 1! Roger didnt have a single in the 70s Brian didnt have a top 10 in 70s But he and Freddie contributed most to the albums and the concert set
They hired a keyboard player, Spike Edney, to make it possible to do what he does best: sing and perform with the audience. He is still with them - and he is in Rogers band. They all wrote songs ond lyrics and had#I1 hits. All in Songwriters Hall of Fame. You can dance an old-fashioned dance called Charleston. There were harmonies were Roger and Brian sang as well - at about 6.30 and again at 7.30 you can see Roger and his microphone - , Yes Roger has a high voice but actually he has a wide range and actually a raspy voice like David Bowie. They are not good, they are not talented - they are legends - - rock-gods - - you have a lot to look forward to.
This GEM is from A Day at the Races Queen has been my favorite band for nearly half a century . This is lip synced , but it's a different version from the version on the album , I LOVE this song and album !
I’ve been a huge fan since the mid 70’s as well. And got to see them live in 78 & 80. I had never heard this alternate version (or a different take?) until just now! It’s noticeably different in some spots and I think I actually may like some of those differences better.
@@johngraham5996 I just looked up a reaction for leory brown A comment said it was Freddie but they put an effect on his voice and slowed it down No idea if thats correct
Top Of The Pops is lip synced over the studio version. Freddie hated it but Top Of The Pops was the only means of exposure in the UK at the time. I love this song, it is clever and fun. The bass in this is great and Brian's guitar work is excellent at always. Brian almost always wrote his own guitar solos, Freddie was fine with Brian doing that on most of his songs. Freddie handed off most of the background vocals and harmonies to Brian to create, and Freddie concentrated on his own vocals.

Freddie could play at the drop of a hat hundreds of old time tunes. He was very good on piano.

Love this song, since I first heard it when I was in school

Always great & interesting comments…
Freddie wrote ogre battle on guitar inc the heavy riff
Also heavy riff on Bo Rap
His songs Brian did the solo but not sure about the very early ones
Freddie wrote all the other guitar parts on his songs
Brian said he made him play in a way he wouldn't normally play
Live performance, You Take my Breath Away.
" Catchy " is a good one 👍

Roger released a single in the UK on his own in the 70’s (1977 I believe)

@@CelcaReact It's not the album version, that's for sure.
Most of Freddies songs the three of them do the harmonies
Certainly not normally just Brian
Freddie wrote the harmonies for his songs
Roger and Brian have said Freddie wrote the harmonies in blocks but they understood what he wanted
@@stargzer_nzm2239 You are correct , this is a different version that was recorded for them to lip sync to , I guess so it sort of sounds live ? 🤔
look at Queen songs Extended, longer versions of there songs.
