Alaska to California, on a Handbike | EP3 · Into the Rhythm | VID Expedition

By this point of the journey we’ve cycled well over 1600 kilometers or 1000 miles.
We have met so many great people, seen some of the most beautiful landscapes we have encountered so far and crossed paths with a handful of bears, and a distant moose, bathing in a lake. We have had sun, rain and a couple of hard days, mixed with a couple of fun ones.
The terrain was hard at times but our legs and arms are up to the challenge.
We also met Oliver Tic ( / olithewalker ) with Carlitos, his dog. They have been walking across the Americas for 25000 kilometers! Wait, what???
At the moment we are in Watson Lake, resupplying food, doing our weekly laundry and enjoying some Chinese food. It’s a welcome break from the usual dry food we have on the road.

Michiel broke his back in 2013 and got paralyzed in his legs. He started walking again in 2018 after a period of intense rehab. Chiara just finished her studies in Italy as a nurse and together they are now looking to cross new borders.
We have documented 8556 km or 5322 miles of world record breaking cycling from Alaska to La Paz, Mexico on VID Expedition: Travel Series.
