And I think that's the song that Hongjoong wrote entirely himself. He was pretty emotional and embarrassed when they performed it for the first time 🥰

honestly i loved the way they used autotune in illusion, the way it was used reminds me of a few khip-hop artists that i love that also use autotune tastefully/for stylistic effect so that’s why i was rooting for it lol

Hala Hala was the song that got me into Ateez too and honestly, I can't stand the over use of autotune either but Illusion is definitely my favourite. It's like the song is so good the autotune doesn't even bother me.
Side note: I also feel like everyone is watching the videos in the wrong order. I think it's Illusion and then Wave. Like watch Illusion first and they're on a ship and then the last clip eludes to Wave kinda like they got shipwrecked and Wave is life after they got shipwrecked.

The auto tune in Illusion is why I prefer it to Wave. Jk. It's really because San is charming as hell in the M/V. Congrats to Ateez on their first win!

YESSS ANOTHER WAVE ENTHUSIAST - i feel like we're few and far between!!!! I LOVE the layering and the new material for the bridge/outro is so good. The euphoria of the outro is gorgeous. Also ye the bass and bridge in Illusion are lit. The performance aspect of their music is so important too and it's awesome you're factoring that into your opinions of the music
I didn't know Umu was from California also didn't know they did reactions to Japanese music too honestly where have I been even though I followed this channel for years 😂

throughout the entire voting period i was ALL for wave like i love wave so much but once both songs dropped illusion's bridge/final chorus completely snatched me so uHH yeah illusion's my fave outta the two songs but i still like the wave mv/concept more

I wasn’t a huge fan of this song at first. But the more I listened to it the more I loved it. It’s definitely near the top of the list now. It really puts a picture of YunHo in my head when I hear it.

I must say, even if you don't do a first listen, do listen to the album. Like their other albums it takes a very cinematic approach and narrative to the album. For that alone I think you will enjoy it!
