I love how Rory forgets that she’s been volunteering for stars hollow for years and worked occasionally at the inn For the whole episode, which would count as extracurricular.
This is a bit of a weak spot in the show. Given Rory has stated that it's been her lifelong dream to attend Harvard, and given she's been described as an organised girl who "thinks through everything", how could she not know that you need extracurriculars to get into an ivy league?
Easy, its the sort of knowledge passed down through networks. She'd have gotten that knowledge if Lorelai had not worked so hard to be estranged from her parents. Ironically, it was her parents' connections and influence that got Rory through Chilton, into Yale and most of Yale paid for.
I think its more to do with Rory coming from a modest upbringing and maybe not knowing just what is expected of you. Its a fun scene anyway, and the one where Paris as a character really comes into her own.
@@borednow5838 Ok, Rory did not come from a modest upbringing. She and her mother lived in a nice sized house. How did they afford that on Lorelai's salary as a maid and eventually a manager? Further they seemed to have endless amount of money to shop, to eat out every meal, every day, for insurance for a jeep for both Lorelai and a teenage Rory. Lorelai had a baby at 16, the hospital bills of which were paid by Lorelai's parents. Mia gave Lorelai and Rory a private shed to live in and a job where the food was free, lodging was free, and I assumed child care was free? How many only children of a 16-year old single mom, HS drop outs have such a "modest" upbringing? Lorelai seems to have depends on someone else for major-level support the entirety of her life. And, she was a bad mom to boot. But that's another story entirely.

No paper no activity. From here you get a paper. In the world of volunteering, no paper menas nothing.
Just imagining Paris working the suicide hotline....
Omg that’s hilarious- she would definitely scare ME straight 😳😆
Harvard missed out when they rejected Paris.
Its not all about Paris
Haaaahahahahahahaaaaa!!! Good one!!
Paris does everything for the wrong reasons, so obsessed with a piece of paper, while employers still train on the jobeven with a degree.
@@freshstart4423 thats actually rory lol. At least paris would have the drive to try and learn on the job as well as her schooling
@@itsjanolli Rory wasn't rejected from Harvard

Didn’t she and her mom volunteer at town events? That counts
also that she just walked over and tried to put a nail into a random piece of wood ;)

The family connections, another necessary element to get into most Ivys.
The fact that this is how houses in the us are built baffles me
Really hope it's exaggerated
I knowwww
yes because a gilmore girls episode is going to accurately depict how they build houses in the us
How do think houses are built.

My mother did it. She does things like this.
c’est bien éléonore on est contents
Last time my mom did that I yelled at her for making me look bad. I know she was trying to help but I was in the age where you gotta be professional.
She's not insane. She just sounds it.
Paris or Lorelei?😂😅
You’d think that as someone who’s done so much, Paris would be more empathetic
I think her family probs have made her so serious
Paris' motivation was Not to help others but to look good in the eyes of Havard. And for that she wasn't accepted.
@@M.A.Y.Y sad how dysfunctional a lot of these "old money" families are
Yeah that's not Paris at all.
@@m.layfette6249 Yeah, that’s true. But, sheer exposure can influence you. Pity it didn’t seem to in this case
I was pretty upset when Dean got angry at Rory rather than be supportive
Me too but he was such a good boyfriend to her..... NOT
Too bad Paris does "good deeds" merely to boost her resume for Harvard. She couldn't care less about helping others. It's all a self-centered SHAM.
I think that's the same actor who played Tom the contractor who worked on the Dragonfly.
That’s would I thought
Its is
Except no beard..
Is he supposed to be the same character?
That Hammer!! :))
I love madeline sm tbh
Thank you Mr Carter...
There's no way Paris had enough time to do all of those extracurricular activities. There's no way Suicide Hotline would allow a child to volunteer.
it’s a show of course it’s exaggerated
@@blair4468 I certainly hope kids watching this show wouldn't try to do all that stuff that Paris said and stress themselves out.
To think that she'd ended up runing the Stars Hollow Gazette, she should've just gone out with Dean.
She did go out with Dean and it didn't work out
Rory was so pretty
she still is pretty.
Ok her character development are bullshit but you cant say rory isn't still pretty
@@Kazuki_0 🙄🙄🙄🙄

This is actually disgusting tho. Paris clearly doesn’t care about actually doing good.
It's usually how it goes with people who do so much to get accepted in prestigious universities
Your confusing nice with good.
Is that Liz's future husband, the fake contractor????
