Have never seen a more persevering and hopeful fighter than Bernardo. No matter what, you will see him struggling and making ugly faces with the heart of a champ.
This is when the rules fail the sport. If this kind of stalling is to be within the rules, then the removal of time limits should be implemented. Stalling the entire match and scrambling for position at the end is not Jiu Jitsu. The same garbage happens at adcc. Playing it safe for the entire first half then scrambling to hold a position once points are announced. Complete garbage for the art and sport as a whole. All it does is enables this kind of nonsensical style of fighting with no real merit to a competitors skill on achieving domination and the eventual submission.
@@Presence_o_Mind in my honest opinion I don't think Bernardo was stalling, he was actively trying to pass with double and over/unders, Bernardo played pressure game using deep half and got his famous faria pass, he even explains that this kind of game is for the not so athletic maybe older glapper not everybody is genetically gifted to move fast and play open guards, this game type obviously favored him, if you see all his matches he always plays it like this, and there is nothing safe about it, deep half has a lot of counters and if you are not an expert at that lvl you are getting crushed for sure, at the end of the day that is jiujitsu sport not a street fight just like wrestling or boxing you play by the rules and to win nobody is gonna do that shit on a real fight but this is a sport.
@@impolitikful even though I agree on the fact that let the opponent pass through the layers of your guard is not the best choice, It worked for Bernardo good enough to be champion and absolute champion a number of times bro!

Gosh dang it I love Bernardo. Pulled deep half and Rafeal looked like he countered it well but he just kept fighting. So good.
Bernardo is a super nice guy. He’s also a stall machine in this match
his deep half guard is a true painting. huge honor for me to copy it all around my game
Bernardo, and Marcelo are my inspirations!
A coisa mais chata do jiu-jitsu são os treinadores que querem induzir o juiz ao erro! Ficam pedindo pontuação que nao existiu
Pressure vs pressure. great match

Amarrou a luta inteira.
Oque ele fez de errado? ganhou um mundial e vc não?
Ur dimmy delusional
lol he's so smart. master of stalling
Rafael couldn’t do nothing so you’re directing your anger at the wrong person.
@@jungledonkey3926 Don't sweat it buddy
You should be the ref
Was faria trying to pass?
at this level with the title at stake, these guys will not likely take risks
5 minutos amarrando a luta, assim ate minha vo. Ridiculo
amarrando?
Não vi amarração nenhuma, tava de over under tentando passar.
Vai lá e faz melhor!
Tu não ganha nem campeonato interno da tua academia que falar de amarração de um campeonato Mundial...
Bernardo stalled his ass off for half his fight. That was bullshit. Just held Rafael in double unders the entire time.
Rafael needs to work on getting out.
What with a crowbar? 😏
they play within the rules of the game

Deep half is a stupid strategy.
I'm still a beginner, mind if I ask why?
Max Nam deep half is a kamikaze mission. You let him past your frames and on your chest. It’s useful to escape but not strong enough to open with.

Bernardo's a 5x world champ. It ain't stupid if it works.
wait but Bernardo is a world champ...
