- This is a review of the Creative SXFI AIR Gamer, an updated version of Creative's SXFI Gamer headset (that I reviewed here - • Creative SXFI Gamer Un... ).
This new headset has some changes to it that include Bluetooth connectivity and breathable protein leather ear cushions with fantastic memory foam cushioning.
Highlights of the Creative SXFI AIR Gamer include:
- A broadcast quality microphone (used for this voice over)
- Superbly comfortable design with deep and plush ear cushions
- Dual connectivity with Bluetooth and USB-C connection
- 32bit/96Khz high res audio
- Battle Mode focuses soundscape for FPS shooters
Lowlights:
- No 2.4Ghz/low latency wireless connection
- Touch controls are a bit fiddly/faffy
- RGB lighting is a bit garish
- Default sound is a bit hollow and lacks ooomf

This headset is interesting as it's a hybrid device, meaning it can be used in wired and wireless mode. With Bluetooth, you can also do things like answer calls or listen to music on your phone. A detachable mic makes it appealing as you can turn the headset into headphones of sorts which is great too. The highlight is the sound though.

I'm in a journey for the ultimate budget sound setup for gaming and I'm very curious about the SXFI hype once it seems to match the FPS games that I play - like Escape from Tarkov, which a good speciality makes a lot of difference to spot enemies.
So instead of the Creative SXFI headset, I'm more towards the Soundblaster X4 (which comes with Battlemode) and gives the same feature to any headset.
I'm also considering a good wireless option, and in this case would be some 2.4 wireless headset like Corsair's Virtuoso + Soundblaster X4. Latency or quality loss issues this way?
Does someone here had this experience already or have the Creative headset? Does it works better with open or closed back headsets? any other thoughts or suggestions on this?
Do you recommend Creative SXFI AIR GAMER over Arctis 7P and Arctis 9?
How is the Mic quality of both MICs on this headset?. Could you do a sample audio as you do for other headsets please?

What is the quality of the standard mic (not this smaller one) over BT/wireless? I guess the voice-over for the video was recorded through USB? I'm looking for a wireless headset with a quality mic and looks like those Creative might be a fine rival for Corsair Virtuoso's
The mic is very nice sounding honestly it’s easily one of the best “gaming headset” mics

Is it worth over Steelseries Arctic pro Wireless?
Well. It's not wireless really, so probably not
there are many good points about these headphones however the USB cable disconnect occasionally which is annoying a s*** and I'm 100% sure that photograph in your head is all about supplying the Chinese with facial recognition data points and makes no difference to the audio algorithm used.
I would highly recommend you take photographs of the front and side of somebody else's head or a stock photograph
does it have adjustable sidetone?

@@mrcarter8941 Don't do it they suck lol only good thing is sound the wireless feature is SO BAD and mine broke on the band they are poop I've had them since they released and used them for months.
@@sixgill5564 I got the Mobius instead. I'm happy to have them and they are awesome 🤗 I also bought "Wicked Cushions" for them with the cooling gel.
