Imagine an Unreal: Reforged-game, ala what Black Mesa did for Half-life 1. The original Unreal 1998 game remade with a modern game engine, with a love for detail, polish, and the original atmosphere and storyline, and very faithful also to overall map layouts and pacing.
The charm of UT99 (I believe) was its roughness and ultimately; its simplicity. Hearing some of the dev work around how they had to push the map to their limits with a polygon count and how the textures feel so 'grimy' what make UT99 stick. It is in my honest opinion that future iterations trying to modernize the look of the weapons made it actively worse. Take the Flak Cannon for example; a beast of a weapon that looks dopey but you fear and respect it It's 98 and 99 versions that is. The 2004 iteration looks more practical (and I admit I kinda like it) but UC2/UT3 just went overboard and looks unrecognizable. UT4 reins it in a bit, but in my honest opinion; it looks over designed and loses the simple grime and charm the UT99 weapons did, I mean, the sniper rifle wasn't anything special, it was just an honest-to-god sniper rifle that someone picked up from the store or a swap-meet, not this high-tech piece of fashion. Automag/Enforcer was the same way, scrappy as hell, memorable as all can be. So the best thing a remake for UT99 would just be updating the graphics but not changing the model for the weapons to look any newer or futuristic.
I loved the dodge feature (left-left, right-right etc. etc) and fast paced game that the sequels couldn't replicate and played in one of Denmarks highest ranked Clans (Dances With CoWs) for a couple of years back in 99-2002/2003.
@@exzenosisharbingaar9000, Overdesigned, exactly! You just described the whole franchise with one word xDDD 98 and 99 are the most dopest games I've ever played (in FPS genre)
@@exzenosisharbingaar9000 i understand what you mean here, but 2004 is basically UT99 without all the grime and rough spots, and it's magical. it's basically the remake, and i prefer it in nearly every way. *which is to say, with an engine upgrade, you could possibly do a remake of 2004.
At least in UT2K4 Go Down was also called "HyperBlast Redux". That´s what i remember or I'm wrong? Also the "Go Down" for UT2017 belongs to @Necto Ulin, he made that remix and deserves recognition. Regards
But UT is very much alive nowdays... And legend is even 99, though I was 3 years back than, I remember playing it when I was 6... Then yea.... 2004, best game of all time for lan parties...
Every single time I hear any version of this I just can't sit straight. I feel so much energy is boiling over inside that I have forgotten about. I love it. It's a shame that Epic games strainght up murdered a game franchize. I understand Epic, as Fortnite has brought them way too much money and they want to milk it, but hell... They should at least resurrect and have a small team work on the Unreal tournament they swept aside a while ago. Could be a nice Esport game.
minus the Esports side, i wholeheartedly agree! Jesus christ, the have so much fucking money that even a re-release of ´99 and ´04 should´ve already happened as a test ground for interest in the IP...
UT3's fits the theme of the game perfectly... a massive step back. That course correction with UT4 might be the greatest thing I've seen and heard in a long time... too bad FoRnItE had to go and cock it all up for Epic, way to sell your souls guys.
Now go and listen do "Space storm" from back old duke 3d. That main theme is unmistakable. Someone reputable should totally ask Alexander if he got inspired back when writing go down.
There is a newer version released in 2025 by original creators. It's on Bandcamp the album is called unreal tournament rematch

Sadly Epic delisted all Unreal games except UT3

A man of culture.
Indeed
Thank you for putting them all together 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Made my day!!
They are all great.

Both statements are correct. As written above I by no mean own any of the soundtrack nor artwork. Just put it together for a compilation.
Hyperblast Redux is pretty much just a higher tempo version of Go Down
Higher tempo? Bro that's the version with it playing vs Malcom and they orchestrated that shit to the nines. It's so good!
ut2004's is legend, nice video where u put all of em together
But UT is very much alive nowdays... And legend is even 99, though I was 3 years back than, I remember playing it when I was 6... Then yea.... 2004, best game of all time for lan parties...
2k4 has the best version of this song but UT99 easily the best UT overall for music and gameplay.
I genuinely like how the version are just so different and unique. They are all very good. My fav is the og though.

tim sweeney is a fortnite shill and the new head of epic games, of course he is gonna try to hide the legacy that brought the company up

Спасибо друг!
@6:17 UT3 vn ftw
2004 is EPIC!
Damn it sucks that the UT3 plot hasn't been continued for now, same like HL:2 didn't got (really) continued.
It didn't continue cuz all the protagonists fell into a trap and got killed.
DOMINATING
ut 2004 bussin
ut99 bee´p boop
ut2k4 *classy and dramatic*
ut3 BEeEeEep BOoOoOop
UT2017 perfection
Wow man, I was about to fucking hurt you but I decided not to cuz I agree, UT17 might be as much dope as 99 one.. cheers! :D

Ut3's version is perfect, UT3 is a good game. People still play it now. Necto Ulin's mix is not actually in UT4- and UT4 came out in 2013.
I miss Unreal Tournament. Epic no longer letting us buy it, while ID does such a good job preserving Quake sucks ;_;
Latest remix from channel Necto Ulin👍
He just remixed hyperblast as well.
Prefer 99 version, easily
It is clearly superior.
It's the only one I have
And I played it 3 minutes ago
Now go and listen do "Space storm" from back old duke 3d. That main theme is unmistakable. Someone reputable should totally ask Alexander if he got inspired back when writing go down.
UT99 4ever
Funny how people seem to enjoy different versions of this track, I myself prefer the OG one, probably because of nostalgia.
it would be better if the sound wasn't mono.
Deck - Heat battles refinery :)
the last one its 2014, not 2017
99 deck 16 1v1 anyone? I need my ass kicked
Agony OK, no liandry coz that shit is ♋
original ost
:O
2004 version is an EMBARASSMENT. What is everyone talking about??
Target lifeform eliminated !
_¿¿¿Le robaste la canción a Necto Ullin???_
All the versions are mediocre compared to UT3 one o_O
the fuck bro, ut3 is the worst lol
