Watched every word they spoke, what an incredible couple and proud Indians!! But, I have to say that I am a huge fan of Sudha murthy Mam. There's a kind of childlike genuineness and innocence in her even after achieving so much.
Seems that Mr and Mrs Murthy are in a damage-control mode. I think while there may have been a backlash, the credibility of Mr Murthy has no way reduced. You both are and always remain legends whether people accept 70hwpw or not.
Every person has to learn the meaning of partnership and understanding from these two living legends
Rajdeep, great interview! I wish you did not keep pushing the Murthys over and over about Mr. Murthy missing birthdays/children's occasions. As a married person who works, and a husband whose job is even more hectic, at a particular point in our marriage, we came to the understanding that we needed to divide up our chores. Chores are not only within the house, but outside as well. In the interest of the children, one of us decided to go all out with our career, and the other would go all out and focus more on the children. So, there are many families such as the Murthys and ours, who come from humble beginnings, and do not have the luxury of attending every single birthday! And that is perfectly fine! Our kids grow up knowing that mom or dad is working for the family. And in Mr. Murthy's case, for scores of families!
Statements that I can never forgot, "He is a Corporate Gandhi, but, I am not Kasturba", "First there needs to be a life, then we can talk about work life balance", "In life, what you think is the best is not the best, rather, what you get is the best and make the best out of it",

Not even German IT companies come close to the class of Infosys training. it is easy to criticize but to see this company is one generation old which really set a building block for the Indian IT boom along with TCS, and WIPRO..

It was one of the best interviews I have ever watched. First of all, they came from middle class families in Karnataka and achieved such huge success both in business and life. I can't think of any other couple in the world, so rich not just financially but spiritually as well. I plan to buy the book to learn more about the beauty of their love and friendship.

There were many lines in the conversation spoken by Narayan Murthy sir and Sudha ma'am those were very inspiring and heart touching. We love them from heart and they set us a perfect example of a good and supporting conjugal and parental life . How they make balance by working together in partnership.Murthy sir take care of the office work and Sudha ma'am being a lecturer look after the children and housework. They both are the most loved and admired couple by today's generation and their bonding teach us that no matter how tough are the circumstances you can get through that if you have the mutual support and understanding.

Somehow i didn't like Rajdeep's approach in this interview He seemed to deliberately pit Mr Murthy against Mrs Murthy and seems to belittle Mr Murthy's contributions . He was not sensitive towards Mr Murthy's stance or views and seemed to give more importance to Mrs Murthy,may be because that will make a good copy . Everyone knows Mrs Murthy is a great woman but im my opinion Rajdeep belittled Mr Murthy. This has lowered Rajdeep's stature in my eyes .

I work 70 hours per week in Canada. If I have worked this many hours in India I would be more rich.
It's a rare high quality video interview by the master mind Rajdeep Sardessai. It's very inspiring, informative and at times nostalgic. It's a must watch for everyone from the aspiring middle class, specially for young men and women.
Shame on this chronic capitalistic couple who sold hard working indian middle class as cheap labor to the developed countries. Their own kids are not in India. Work for 70 hours a week and they will pay only for 40 hours. 25 thousand rupees salary translates to 10 % of the client dollars. Murthy will suck 90 % commission in between. even from that 25 thousand rupee salary, employees are forced to pay 800 towards sudha murthy charity for her to get another award in the closet - padma vibhushan. And when infosys employee dies in USA they dont even reimburse death certificate cost of 10 dollars. HR told me they are not in the business of transporting dead bodies. I had to take help from NGO and repatriate dead body of my relative back to india. Indian embassy was shocked to see that infosys employee did not get any help from the company. All they did was send team member to retrieve company laptop! Narayan murthy paints such a bad picture about indian corruption wherever he goes. Then why did he call Dk shivkumar for protection when narayan gowda from karnataka rakshana vedike demanded jobs be given to local kannadigas? Why did sudha murthy go as chief guest to Dk shivkumars daughters school ? Dk shivkumar was close associate of rowdy Kotwal Ramachandra and not a clean politician at all. Hypocrites.
They have mastered the art of public social image building. People from rural areas cannot see through their cunningness and fall for their traps. They are hardcore businessmen and we should treat them as such. They are not mother theresa or mahatma gandhi. Ratan tata is the real deal for india and he does not blow his own trumphet

Looing at the comments before mine, most people are just crap, cant give credit where it's due, cant appreciate, cant empathize, cant respect but readily bitter and just there to hurt. At 70+, these ppl are not relaxing in their life, paying 4 lakh people salaries in every month 1st is not so easy.
Owner can. And need to work 70hrs ... employees can't become owners. Existing work time it self we dont habe time for our families and what he says is absolutely rubish. You work 70 hrs you become sick you get replaced. Thats it company never cares. "Appa cares for money not the children"

Obvious that person with children takes care of children is possible. In every home husband struggle for earning other takescar 9:53 e of house. Its obvious. What question you are asking. If he was caring kids every moment he becomes baby care taker and not Infosys Chairman.
People will really work 70 hours a week if they are interested in what they are doing. Right now in India everyone is forced to enter into software industry regardless of whether one is interested or not because that is where the money is. Frankly, people are frustrated. Our parents put in 70+ hours back in 70s, 80s and 90s which included 4 hours of travel a day. They did that to take care of us, they struggled but there was also peace of mind. Right now, there is a lot of unpredictability. Each generation has its own challenges. What is important for this couple right now, considering their position, is to raise awareness on rampant corruption by central and state governments and force government workers to work honestly for the betterment of India. Things will take care of itself when people are honest and that needs to start from the top!

There is much illegal work going on in the world including India. Capitalism is more evil than Communism. Seeing this video, I want to put my family's work culture very similar to them, where my father is to go for work at 6am and return by midnight after daily business, this they have done for 20 to to 25 years a stretch to pull out from poverty...meanwhile my mother used to take care of home affairs....I can tell more, but nowadays generation should understand about their proud grandparents era

We have solders who Leave their family behind to safe the country. Would this journalist say the same. Well mr murthy was doing the same by giving employment to lakhs of Indian n leaving the children behind to take care by wife alone.
I do not appreciate rajdeep consistently dragging in negativity in the thought process and trying to elicit a complaint or some negative response from the couple. I stopped watching this in 10 mins; the host is quite annoying. Mr. Narayana and Ms Sudha have lived or chosen to live their lives a particular way and successfully done so Rajdeep !! Learn something and change your negative narrative perhaps?

India is wasting its time and resources to rule india as one block. The cultural difference between the people prove that one nation one country is forced one. European Union countries status is much needed. Decentralisation is the only solution . Various political views are needed. The presence of Regional political parties in sates prove that they're the backbone of democracy and sons of soils. National political parties are no longer democratic and dictatorship. 400 MPs don't be worthy.
To interview a legend couple like Murthy's, you need some understanding of their mindset. Then you make a good interview with some great answers and learnings. Interview like this was a great waste of time. Rajdeep didn't know who he was talking to. Aukaat yaad nahi thi usko apni .
70 hour isn’t the key- it’s about going above and beyond ; that extra mile. But before that ! What both these septuagenarians are missing is :instill in your employees a sense of WHY
