What about banking the object ball to get it close to the corner, so it’s highly makeable on the next shot and leaving the cue ball close to the top rail? The problem with leaving the object ball in the middle of the table is the next shot may still be difficult if your opponent nudges out the eight and leaves the cue on the bottom rail.
As on Safety #3, you have to hit with a little pace to get ob to follow over to the short rail. If you look like lightly bank it, you won't get the cb to the short rail. Plus, a lot can go wrong when trying to "set up" a ball, especially by banking it, or you could accidentally pocket it. 😁 But I agree, so much better if you can set it up, even if you sacrifice a bit of distance with the cb. It could freeze up to a rail

Or, if the opponent didn't want to attempt the bank, he could slow roll the cue ball just tapping the 8 off the rail, leaving me a long shot shooting off the rail. Whatever either player decides to do, the idea is to leave a tough shot. If I was up 5 games in a race to whatever, I'd probably take the 'go for it' bank shot.

Imagine an easier leave for the hook, still near bottom rail, and yours slightly further in the middle. Even just a straight on hit top spin. No potential for a scratch. Not going for the bank. Only cue ball control leave near bottom rail enough middle. who cares where 14 goes. won't be a pocket with the right speed. Options.

I like the first safety shot the best. Would you ever believe that if you have to do a hard shot in pool you screwed up? That's just me and how I am. I like to have an easy game, easy shot and run the cue ball but that's not always an option I guess. I was practicing a lot of doing easy shots and running the table drills but I tend to struggle at difficult shots and I try to avoid them. Thanks for the video.
I like your bank safe and the kick safe. In BCA, I could try to make that bank into the corner or the kick into the side but CALL safe. If I miss, it’s safe. If I make it, it’s still safe
I hear ya, but I believe it's better to have another soldier on the table. Pocketing your last ball means you are both tied to the 8 Ball. And there are several safties your opponent can do to play Safe in that situation. But, if you have an object ball set up, or center table, there is almost no safety your opponent can play. Make sense?

I don't like any of these options. Leaving your ball in no mans land let's your opponent just tap the 8 leaving you another tough shot. Gotta duck your ball and leave a tough shot. Under cut your ball, leaving it near the corner pocket and force your opponent to make a tough bank shot.

But, they get a little harder on real tables. If you can make shot & shape 10 times in a row, you should send me non edited video. And not on a bar box. Hell, we will even count if as good if you bank the 8 in. You just have to get out 9/10 times and I will still post the vid. Be sure to USE EXACT setup. 😁

I would not take the bank shot, would counter your safety with a safety of my own.
However, if I could set up my last stripe near a pocket, or even center table, a good return safety off 8 Ball becomes more difficult.
