Here she is at 65+ years old, and inspiring! (The website says she broke her chain many times in the last 4 years, fully escaping to ENP! GOOD GIRL! So PROUD of you! She's got a lot of moral fiber to not be enslaved.) I'm very impressed by her "spirit" (meaning attitude, demeanor), her vigor, her passion, her zest for living. She is very alert, extremely smart, and utterly engaged mentally and emotionally, very "plugged in"/focused. She clearly knows exactly what she wants, and she is focused on it, hell be damned. :) She said, "You can walk faster or not, but I'm leaving NOW. I'm a very nice lady Ellie, but I'm no idiot to stay where camps commit PHAJAAN, use Bullhooks and chains, and I know what I want. I'm LEAVING!" :) I love her heart. She is assertive, she's got spunk, and she should be applauded. She'll be very happy. Gotta love her! :) Hurray, Hurray!!
This is a GREAT video (of Many!) It's as though she is saying, "Yes, thank you for the big bunch of bananas, I love them, and I'll eat them, but I just want to get there!" and then, with free feet in the resting krall, "At last, I can relax now. I'm here." and her mind rests. Congratulations, Pi-kun. Yes, you can rest now. The nightmare is over. You are among friends now. You are loved. Big Trunk-hug!

This video is so hard to watch, ALL those poor elephants swaying in nervousness, chained down, people riding them... H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E. They all need saved from this pathetic life style.
I’ve watched and re-watched almost all of ENP videos. This one at least 5 times. I think I just realized Pi-Kun was just down the street in a tourist camp right? Because when she go out it’s like she RAN TO ENP! All the volunteers, everyone struggled to keep up with her! If anyone reads this and know for certain, please reply. I’m so deeply touched right now!
Yes, Pikun was just down the street, very close by in an elephant camp, had run away from there to ENP many times, and knew where she was going at this rescue!
I am always sad if I see... if I watch the video about elephants in the cage The elephants must be free in their habitat Many thans for the helper I love you... 😙😙😙
will you go back and get the others? I love how she went straight to ENP. she's a wonderfully smart elephant. But what about the others? can you save them as well?
The bowing youngster wants to be okay with all his/her might, the one the Westerners are riding the neck of, and shaking his/her head when chained and distressed. I pray they will get more. It costs money though; I think they have to pay for them. That's why our sponsorship and financial help makes all the difference. The elephant camp where Pi-kun was, is a tourist business. I would imagine they want to stay in business and keep making money off the elephants' enslavement. It is highly unlikely they will want to sell all their elephants. We need to pray that they will learn from Lek and ENP's humane tourism model and choose to change their ways, stop using chains, Bullhooks and torture, stop allowing rides, and begin to emulate what ENP does, tourists visiting the natural way to the dignity and safety of the elephants, to their happiness. Slowly, some are shifting to this excellent ENP model, and we can pray these owners will too. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Wow! I'm worried about the one shaking his head and chained up. I worry about them all. They should not be treated the way they are treated. I wish I had the money to save them all. Thanks for getting back to me.
Many of us feel exactly as you do, truly! It's completely unacceptable the way they are treated, all the worse, Phajaan, which is torture "training" that kills half of all captive Asian elephant babes. Every time an elephant is sold, Man commits Phajaan on the elephant all over again. An elephant sold 25 times means suffering the extreme brutality and injuries of Phajaan 26-27 times at least, often maimed, and many die, it's deadly. Because of Man's kill-rate of the elephants, they are nearing extinction, now endangered, both in the wild and in captivity. Elephants are killed by Man (humans) far faster than they can reproduce. Lek is a pioneer in the dignity and safe care of Asian elephants in Thai culture, and has suffered much for her stand. It is because of her that there is now an elephant-protection law on the books, as of 2014, the very first elephant-protection law in all of history there. They need our support, prayer, voices to alert the peoples of the world to the plight of the elephants. We must cry out for those not heard, and support these good works. We are so thankful for Lek and Derrick, all the sponsors and staff, mahouts that have heard the truth and have laid down their bullhooks forever. Blessings to all that love the elephants and help them!
You speak from the heart, your very powerful and passionate with your words. I can see we feel the same. Thank you for caring like you do. I would love to meet Lek one of these days and thank her for all she does. Just to tell her that her love for animals does not go unnoticed. Maybe I will be able to do more one of these days.
+Bobbie Sullivan In the meantime, you can use your heart and your words to speak for the elephants. The elephant tourism industry that tortures and enslaves the elephants posts videos on YT to gain tourists attention so they come and spend money there. I alert the viewers there about PHAJAAN, about the torture, suffering and deaths, the nearing extinction that is caused by that industry. I don't work with ENP, but I stand the line online for the elephants. More people are needed at those tourism videos to tell the people the truth. They don't know and they need to know. We must speak for the elephants and tell the unaware, so they don't go to those places, so they don't give their support to those places. The more people spend their money by going to those torturing places, the more that industry stays afloat. We can use our words strongly, to say No! to violence against elephants. The owners despise my telling the people the truth, they argue, but I don't care. I will not be silent. I Will use my voice to stand for the elephants and I will tell everyone the truth about the shameful atrocities that Man does against the elephants. We need to lower their industry, make it not profitable for them to continue in the evil old ways. It makes a difference. Learn much, so you can say much and strongly. It helps. Hugs to you, dear heart.

Here's a thought... Most people in the world are very concerned about popularity, and when they find themselves holding a very unpopular opinion or belief, they will change it. I noticed that the woman speaking was an actress, and although I don't know anything about her, I would suppose many people know her. If she could get together other actors and people in the public eye to speak out against the abuse against elephants, it might do a lot to bring people around to the right way of thinking. This approach could also be used to put a stop to the rampant burning in Thailand every year that is causing so much air pollution.
That's why actors are used in the US for social engineering to bring change. It's directed, not self-chosen, not in the right directions, but that's how they're used. It would totally work if these actresses would begin gaining supporters among other actors. You're completely right. I hope they read your comment and do that! :)
