      let's forget the horrible delivery and the lack of logic for a second.
      A 5 year old can in 5 minutes find a dozen rap songs about murder and violence. Now imagine a white dude glorifying such topics. How do people clap such nonsense?

      @@VentureHolly If I wanted to troll you I'd quote NWA misogyny. It is always a bad sign when people quote me gangsta rap, usually reflects someone's shallow depth of understanding. NWA and their genre were necessary in the 80s, not 4 decades later. Times have moved on dude
      Speaking of troling.. How the hell is a w homeless addict "privileged"? The b community has endured these idiotic comedians for too long. He's the troll, not me. It's quite insulting and completely r to call those unfortunate people privileged based on the colour of their skin. And the incident he's recounting is sad, sad.. fiction.

      Mohammed Anjam lmao this comedian wants you to believe that a homeless guy with abusive parents who ran away from home and got hooked on drugs has it better than a black dude with a netflix deal just cause he’s white. That’s what happens when the only kind of struggle you’ve seen was on tv or tweeter.

    Three black brothers from Detroit in the 70's had a band called Death. They almost got signed to a record deal by Clive Davis, but he was uncomfortable with the band's name. They refused to change it. Very rock'n'roll thing to do back then. They put out one album called "For the Whole World to See," but never got another offer for a record deal. Definitely worth checking out.

      It’s because they were ahead of the time and they were one of the first pioneers of the genre before it became a thing. Usually if you don’t start out mainstream or super super super talented you and your later trends won’t get noticed if not hated anyways since humans like familiar things. This is why the majority of people stick to the genres they grew up with and seldom dabble unless it’s the top 1-5 percent of anything else they may listen to.

    I think what that homeless guy was thinking about was not white privilege, but a first-world privilege. After all, he already knew that the guy was black when he took the money. Only when he learned that the man was from Africa did he give it back. He has clearly been taught about the dire poverty that takes place in much of Africa.
    I remember going to the Occupy camp in Hawaii. The folks there were all homeless. Yet when some small problem came up they would stop complaining and sing together "first world problem." Thir sense of perspective was impressive.

    This was funny. And there was truth to it as I remember 50 Cent bring this up when he had issues with censorship regarding his single "I'll Still Kill"... MTV forced him to change it to 'I Still Will'... And he brought up the fact that Britney Spears says "It's Britney bitch" at the beginning of her then released single "Toxic" and it was unedited, and that MTV allowed the band named *The Killers* yet asked him to change the name of his song.

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 3 роки тому +14

      Because one is just a half assed curse word that is allowed on most channels, another is just a band name that doesn't actually promote violence, and the last one is a person saying that they actively engage in murder.
      I don't agree with what MTV did, but those 3 are absolutely NOT the same thing.

    • @Yawdan
      @Yawdan 3 роки тому +19

      @@KurNorock you're moving the goal posts now. The argument was about the artist's name, now your saying it's about their content.
      But OK.
      50 Cent had to changed his promotional picture for his film Get Rich Or Die Tryin' as he had a gun on his waistband. But then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were allowed to hold guns on their promotional poster for Mr and Mrs Smith. And they killed people and were trying to kill each other in that film.
      So you can't use him 'talking about killing people' as an excuse now, and to make out like that's 'different'.
      Edit: and the word 'b***h' isn't allowed in rap videos.

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 3 роки тому +7

      @@Yawdan Moving the goal posts? YOU were the one who brought up everything I was talking about in my comment. So if you took my comment as some kind of "artist name vs content" argument (which it wasn't) then you have only yourself to blame.
      And as I already said, I do not agree with what MTV did. I'm not defending them in any way. I do not agree with censorship of any kind.
      All I was doing was explaining the logic behind wanting 50 cent to change his song title/lyric. I never said it was the right thing to do.
      And now YOU are the one moving the goal post. As the discussion was about MTV specifically, yet now you are bringing movie posters into the conversation as if MTV had anything to do with those promotional posters.

    • @Yawdan
      @Yawdan 3 роки тому +6

      @@KurNorock lol!
      The point of my comment was that along the lines of the comedians joke, white acts will be allowed to have certain liberties that Black acts aren't allowed. Such as a band being abled to be called The Killers but 50 Cent can't even have a song called 'I'll Still Kill'.
      And in terms of me 'moving the goal posts', my comment was actually what 50 Cent himself said in an interview:
      www.mtv.com/news/1574464/50-cent-asks-if-britney-spears-can-use-the-b-word-why-cant-i/
      For the most part I agreed with you. But it is when you said that the things mentioned "[weren't] the same thing" that I disagreed with, as this all fell under the context of my original comment (white privilege; white acts being afforded liberties Black acts weren't).

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 3 роки тому +5

      @@Yawdan I already pointed out that a band name being "The Killers" is not the same as having a song called "I still Kill". Again, one is just a name that doesn't actually promote violence while the other is an admission of committing violent acts.
      Also, as I pointed out in another comment, there is a black rapper that has been around for decades who calls himself "Ghost Face Killer". Maybe if 50 cent had decided to call himself "Killer 50" or some other such nonsense, he would have seen that nobody cares.
      Doesn't matter who said what. YOU were the one that brought it to the conversation to use as evidence to support your claim.
      And if you think that white people have all these liberties that black people don't, you are going to have to do better than this. Because I would argue the exact opposite. For example, are you aware of the rap group NWA? Do you know what that stands for? What do you think would happen if a white group had a band/song name with "niggers" in it? Do you think they would just be forced to change their name? Or do you think they would be driven out of the business all together and harassed everywhere they go? Hell, I bet you are pissed at me right now for even typing the word out.
