Do you know how to set JAVA_HOME?

It depends a bit on which version of macOS you are running, but on recent versions (Catalina and newer), add this line to your shell profile:
export JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/libexec/java_home)
For example, on Catalina or Big Sur I would the above line at the end of the .zshrc file (in the HOME folder).

Try this: go to Launchpad -> Others -> Terminal. Another possibility is to press Command+Space and write Terminal in the search box that appears.
