    We are building "CarbonBee" in Berlin (Marina West). Measuring 15 meters in length, based on our JANU-15 design, full carbon catamaran focuses on both high performance and a well-balanced level of comfort
    It's a family project from the design over the construction up to... sailing the catamaran.
    Unsatisfied with the offerings on the market, we decided to design and build the catamaran ourselves using state-of-the-art materials and technology.
    "CarbonBee" is designed to be a true blue water sailing catamaran, offering a combination of lightness, solidity, power, speed, and safety. Our intention wasn't to create and build any houseboat or a condo-maran.
    The aim was also to demonstrate that building a high-tech sailing catamaran can be achieved by amateur builders.
    The catamaran's two hulls will each contain two cabins for two people, as well as a shower with a basin and a separate toilet with a basin. The bridge will feature a kitchen, saloon, navigation equipment, and a steering station.
    "CarbonBee" will get electric propulsion and possibility of recuperation when going under sails.
    "CarbonBee" measures 15 meters in length and 9.3 meters in width, with a draft of 0.5/2.5 meters and a weight of approximately 4 t. The displacement is 6.5 t.

    Boat looks amazing. You have to get that logo on one of the sails.

      Yes, the logo we want to place on the hulls' front and on the main sail.

    I have been following your progress for quite some time. I still wonder how you were able to vacuum infuse the hulls without a mold. How were you able to make the foam air tight for infusion?

    • @bojanu7212

      Thank you for watching.
      I have designed a technology for rapidly constructing one-off hulls without the need for mould. Instead of using traditional mould, the construction material itself (foam) serves as the mould. I will share the details on how to achieve this at a later time.

    Great update thank you ! Keep at it good work .
    I like the light wt glass cloth on top of the carbon to absorbs excess resin and something easier to sand smooth with out effecting strength ( or was that peel ply??)
    Cheers Warren

      @bojanu7212  Рік тому +1

      Thanks!
      It is peel ply. We use it everywhere, for hand laminating or infusion to get perfect adhesive surface for following lamination or painting.
      We also see very well the correct saturation of the carbon cloth by hand lamination.

    • @SteinVarjord
      @SteinVarjord Рік тому +1

      @@bojanu7212Peelply is great stuff! Really helps laminate quality. You probably know this already, but just in case: It’s important sand before laminating, even when peelply has been used. It’s easier to get sufficient sanding then, but the surface must be sanded off to get proper bonding. Many do this wrong.

    • @bojanu7212
      @bojanu7212  Рік тому +1

      @@SteinVarjord You are right. Light sanding after removing the peel-ply, before lamination of the next sheet, improves bonding by eliminating too thick layer of resin between. However you can get very fine peel-ply and that make the sanding not so important.

    • @bojanu7212
      @bojanu7212  Рік тому

      it looks like we will have the furniture in white colour with some grey elements - however it is still not 100% decision.

      How about furniture in naked carbon? It will look $$$$$$$$$!

    • @bojanu7212
      @bojanu7212  11 місяців тому

      @@maxprea3745 Yes, it is nice idea and with clear gloss lacquer you will get 3D effect, but we want to paint the walls and bulkheads in the hulls with clear lacquer to get such effect. We made already test and such raw surface painted with clear lacquer, with the light reflections looks extreme good. So, having all the walls in carbon finish, it will be too much when the furniture get the same finish. That is, we want to paint the furniture white and the celling covering will be also white.
