I so enjoyed watching this video. The IJJ Fortune Telling game was my first Tarot as well. I purchased it in the toy department of Sears in 1973 or 1974. My 2nd set was the 007 boxed set (from the James Bond Movie) which also had the deck, book, and spread sheet, also purchase in the same toy department. And the I moved on to the Morgan Greer and finally started to really learned how to read Tarot. Great memories.
This is really amazing! I’m so glad I found this. I’m just getting into Marseilles and got my first copy of 1JJ Swiss. Till now I’ve been an RWS girl. On a side note, I actually found the complete series Tales of the Unexpected here on UA-cam! 😅
Simon, you are such a font of knowledge!🙏I am learning such a lot from you and thoroughly enjoy your video presentation style. I have some difficulties catching up with some of your “lives” due to the time differences but always enjoy catching up with them after the event. Thank you for all you do, I know it’s a lot of work but you are greatly appreciated!😇🇦🇺👍
The current version of CUP II has an error. CUP II's shadow direction is opposite to other cards. I looked carefully for the 1831 edition and found that it was the correct one.
1JJ was my first deck too, it turns out I have 2 decks which I don’t like as they’re pips. They both in tuck boxes, both AGMuller. The 1974 is distributed by US Games and French like yours, the 4 and 9, 14 & 19 in the Major have the IIII but 3 of the suits have IV, IX etc but the cups are same as major. The LWB is same as yours and advert is for your yellow book 😂 The other deck 1980 distribution by David Westnedge is in English but don’t know the numbers as still in plastic.
My mom gave me the 1970 deck for my 16th birthday. The colors were pretty, but, it's a pip deck, and I wanted a RWS deck. I bought a University Books Albano Waite deck.
I have a version of this deck that came with a subscription of the norwegian translation of "Mind, Body, Spirit" back in the early 2000. The deck has a tiny 1974 AGM Möller logo on the white border, and a terrible ugly blue backing with the "Mind, Body, Spirit" logo.
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo, doo doo doo…..tales of the unexpected is a absolutely burned into my memory but I didn’t know that that was the deck used! Thanks as always for sharing your amazing tarot knowledge 🙏🤗
Hi Simon. I love your 1jj collection I only have the one distressed version from MPC your presentation of made me want to own it haha. I was hoping you could give me a reccomendation for 1JJ swiss guidebook
@@the_hermits_cave I just had to tell someone tgat would understand the significance of that haha. It's my biggest joy to have a nice big hardback book toaccompany a new deck I want to study that's what drew me to my second ever deck I ever purchased , the deviant moon and book the book was the decision g factor in that purchase. Thanks for the 1JJ swiss collection video. This must've been before tou got your MPC version...
Loved seeing your 1JJ Swiss decks, Simon! It is always nice to revisit the history of this important deck!

I think we/you/someone should petition for a name change for this deck!!! Hahahaha
What would be your suggestion? 😝

@@the_hermits_cave Tarot Cards For Fun and Fortune. Stuart Kaplan
Did you have the book for the 1jj swiss? I got it with my ebay 70s AJ Muller. It tickles me
😆 why?
Honestly I think it's the nostalgic feel of the book. A book that had the feel of a book I may have had as a kid.
Hey, Simon -- HazelJaneTarot has a "hi" and a hug from me when she sees you in Glastonbury. Wish I could be there -- maybe one day.
Aaaw thank you! One day indeed
Id be interested in knowing what the deck box inside your deluxe set has printed on it. I.e. does it say 1jj swiss or tarot cards.
1JJ. Tarot Cards is just on my 70’s deck
so beautful the french cards! l love the colors a lot and the simplicity!
thankyou for the reading !
yes to rest , l need it !

The 1JJ was the first deck I've ever bought, back in 1997. Alas, its greek edition was pretty shitty, it was like a low quality pirate edition.
Oh no! How sad, as it’s such a beautiful deck.
